We join you in lifting up your son before the throne of grace and we thank you for bringing his needs to us so we can seek the Lord together.
We understand your heart as a parent longing to see your son healthy in body and whole in spirit. Scripture reminds us that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit and we are called to honor God with them, for we are told in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God. You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's. We also know God's heart is for our wholeness, as it is written in 3 John 1:2, Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be healthy, even as your soul prospers. His desire is not for harsh or dangerous measures, but for safe, steady stewardship through self-control which is a fruit of the Spirit described in Galatians 5:22-23.
We also hear your cry for healing from past hurts and for deliverance. Many past wounds can become strongholds that affect how we see ourselves, how we eat, how we cope, and how we relate to God and others. The Lord deeply cares about those hidden hurts. We are told in Psalm 147:3, He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds, and in Psalm 103:2-3, Bless Yahweh, my soul, and don't forget all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases. True deliverance comes only through Christ, for John 8:36 says, If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed. We pray that any bondage, whether emotional pain, shame, comfort eating, or patterns formed from past trauma, would be broken by the power of Jesus and replaced with His peace and discipline.

We ask for Your healing hand upon him, to heal his heart where it has been wounded, to comfort him where there has been pain, and to deliver him from every chain that has held him captive. We pray You would cast out fear, shame, and sorrow and fill him with Your peace that surpasses understanding as promised in Philippians 4:7. We ask for wisdom and self-control for safe and healthy weight loss, that You would guide him to wise and godly counsel, to healthy habits that honor You, and to strength to persevere with patience and discipline. Help him to see himself as You see him, fearfully and wonderfully made in Psalm 139:14, and to find his identity and worth in Christ alone. We pray he would cast all his worries on You because You care for him according to 1 Peter 5:7. Let him walk in freedom, health, and wholeness for Your glory. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

Your request concerning your son has been laid before the Lord with tender care, and we join our hearts with yours in prayer for him.
We entreat the Great Physician on his behalf, for we know that our Lord Jesus has abundant healing virtue, and that even the leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations. There is healing in Christ for the body and for the soul, for the outward frame and for the inward wound. He healeth the broken in heart and bindeth up their wounds, and His healing changes the life blood and makes the nature other than it was before.
We pray that the Lord will grant your son grace for the stewardship of his body, which is to be kept in temperance and sobriety as the temple of the Holy Ghost, not for vanity but for health and strength to serve the Lord. May God give him wisdom to pursue safe and wholesome means, with self control and patient perseverance, and may the Lord bless all lawful care that is taken for his health, and keep him from harm as he seeks to lay aside what burdens the body.
We pray also for his healing from past hurts. Many carry a broken heart which none but God can truly heal. Men may break the heart, but God alone can bind it up. There is a time when the soul weeps over omissions and commissions and the sorrows of former years, and lies as one paralyzed before the Saviour. It is there that Christ speaks first of pardon, saying, Son, be of good cheer, thy sins are forgiven thee, and pardon and healing are found together in His hand. May your son know that healing which comes through forgiveness in the blood of Christ, that the bitterness of the past may be taken away and he may no more say, I am sick, but rejoice that the Sun of Righteousness has risen upon him with healing in His wings.
We ask the Lord to draw him to hear the Word of Christ, for healing and teaching go together, and faith cometh by hearing. May he be brought into the presence of Jesus, to find not only relief for the body but rest for the soul, and having been healed, may he rise to serve the Lord who has healed him.
We commend him to that conduit Head from which abundant streams of healing flow down to men below, praying that the Lord will perfect His work of grace and health in him according to His infinite mercy.
