We have received your request and we are joining you in prayer for you and your son.
The Bible shows that curses were pronounced from Mount Ebal upon those who broke God's covenant, and the people were to answer Amen, acknowledging that God's judgment was right. In Deuteronomy 27 and 28 the blessings for diligently heeding the voice of the Lord are set forth in just a few verses, while the curses that pursue and overtake those who turn away and disobey are many. Scripture makes clear that to live outside of obedience to God brings consequences, and no one can stand before that judgment in his own strength. The good news is that Jesus Christ has borne our griefs and infirmities, as Isaiah prophesied, and He bore the curse for us so that through faith in Him we are delivered from condemnation and brought into a living relationship with God. We pray that any influence of sin, accusation, or spiritual oppression over you and your son would be broken in the name of Jesus, and that you both would walk in the freedom and protection that comes from belonging to Christ alone and abiding in obedience to His word.
We also pray for your son's physical health and for safe weight loss. God cares for the body He created. The gospels show that Jesus healed in many different ways, sometimes instantly and sometimes gradually, sometimes with a touch and sometimes with only a word, and He was not confined to one pattern. All true healing is from God, whether it comes in a moment or through a process. He has built healing processes into our bodies, and even what we call natural recovery is divine because He is the one who made nature. We ask the Lord to give your son wisdom, discipline, and help from good counsel for a safe and steady path to health, to strengthen his body, and to work His healing power in him day by day.
For healing from past hurts, we pray that God would bring deep restoration to the heart and mind. The apostle Paul wrote that he counted his former ways as loss when he came to know Christ, and years later he still counted them as loss because that past decision had become a present reality. He taught that past experiences only have value when they are carried into the present, and that we are to forget what lies behind and press forward. Many people remain bound because they live in past wounds, rehearsing what was done to them and unable to rise above it. God wants to heal not only the body but the emotions and memories, lifting the weight of old scars. We pray that the Lord would heal those places of hurt for your son and for you, that He would replace bitterness and pain with His peace, and that He would help you both to look forward in Christ rather than being held by what has happened before.
Father, we bring this family before You through Jesus Christ. We ask that You break every chain and remove every curse that would pursue them, covering them with the blood of Christ and leading them to walk in Your obedience and blessing. Grant to this son physical health, guidance to lose weight in a safe and wise way, and strength for each step. Bring healing to his heart from every past wound, and renew his mind with Your love and truth. Let both mother and son know the excellency of knowing Christ and be found in Him, pressing on toward what You have ahead. In Jesus name we pray, amen.
