Thank you for sharing this burden and for allowing prayer for you and for your son. God hears the cries of His people and He invites us to bring every need to Him through Jesus Christ.
In Scripture the curses you are concerned about are spoken of in a very specific way. When Israel stood in the valley with blessings declared from one mountain and curses from the other, the curses were the stated consequences for breaking God's covenant, and the people were to answer Amen, acknowledging that God is just in what He declares. The long list in Deuteronomy 27 and 28 shows how serious disobedience is, and how many of those consequences pursue a person who turns from the Lord. It is not a matter of someone speaking a spell over you that has power on its own. The Bible teaches that the real curse for sin was borne by Jesus Himself when He suffered for us, as Isaiah foretold that He would bear our infirmities and carry our sicknesses, a passage Matthew applies directly to the healing ministry of Jesus. Through faith in Christ we are delivered from the curse of the law because He became a curse for us, and our standing before God rests on His finished work alone.
So my prayer for you and your son is for that deliverance to be your settled confidence. I pray that any fear of spoken curses would be replaced with trust in the protection and authority of Jesus, that you both would walk in obedience to His voice, and that you would know the peace of being under His blood and His care. Where there has been sin, there is forgiveness and cleansing when we confess it, and God blots out the past and receives us as His children.
I also join you in praying for your son's physical health and for safe weight loss. Jesus showed His compassion by healing every kind of sickness and disease among the people, and Scripture presents that as part of what He carried for us. At the same time the Bible does not teach that God wills instant healing in every case in the way we might expect. Paul prayed three times for his own thorn in the flesh and learned that God's grace was sufficient even when the affliction remained. Healing often comes gradually and through the natural processes God Himself has built into our bodies. That process is still divine, because God created the body and its ability to recover. I pray that the Lord will give your son wisdom, discipline and help through wise medical counsel, good nutrition and steady habits, and that He will strengthen him day by day. I pray for a safe and lasting improvement in health rather than a harmful or hurried method, and for encouragement as he perseveres.
For the hurts of the past, I pray for deep inner healing. Many of the deepest wounds come from broken trust and from those we have loved and relied upon, and those hurts can linger long after the events. The Lord knows those wounds and He is able to heal not only the body but the mind and emotions. He promises to blot out our sins and to bring times of refreshing from His presence, and to heal the scars that remain. I pray that your son will experience that refreshing, that old pain would lose its hold, that memories would be redeemed, and that he would know himself as loved and valued by God, with a new sense of wholeness in Christ.
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ I bring this family before You. Cover them with Your grace and deliver them from all fear and from every work of darkness. Let them rest in the truth that Christ has borne the curse for all who trust in Him. Grant to this son physical strength and health, guide him to safe and wise steps for his body, and bring gradual and complete healing as You will. Heal his heart from past hurts, blot out what needs to be forgiven, and mend what has been broken, that he may walk in joy and fellowship with You. Give them both faith to hearken to Your voice and to keep Your ways, and let them know the blessing of Your presence. Amen.
