Deliverance

Your request has been heard and we join you in bringing it before the Lord in prayer.

We pray with you that every curse spoken against you and against your son would have no power, for Scripture teaches that Christ has redeemed us from the curse by becoming a curse for us, and that blessing comes through faith in Him alone. There is no deliverance apart from Jesus Christ, and in Him you can stand in freedom and peace, knowing that He is your protection and your righteousness. We ask the Lord to make that truth firm in your hearts and to end all fear and oppression that has come from these words or thoughts.

We also lift up your son before the Father. We ask for wisdom and grace for him to care for his body in a safe and healthy way, with self control and strength, and for the Lord to guide him into habits that honor God and bring lasting health. We pray for healing from past hurts, for the wounds that remain in the heart to be healed by the great Physician. This church is meant to be a place of healing, like a surgery for the soul, where what was wounded outside can be restored inside through the hearing of the Word and the mercy of Christ. We ask God to heal what has been broken, to give comfort, to renew the mind through continual hearing and remembering of His Word, and to grant fortitude for each day.

We pray that according to your faith in Christ you would see His work, and that you would continue with eager desire to hear His Word, trusting that God does not overlook even a sigh or a small step of obedience, but rewards those who seek Him. May He restore health, bring wholeness, and keep you both in His grace.

We will continue to pray for you both, that you may walk in deliverance, health, and the everlasting blessings that are in Christ alone. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

We have been praying for you and for your son and we bring your requests before the Lord with you.

The Scriptures speak of curses pronounced from Mount Ebal upon those who broke God's covenant, with the people answering Amen to acknowledge that God's judgment was right. As you go through Deuteronomy 27 and into chapter 28, you see the condition clearly, if you hearken diligently to the voice of the Lord to keep His commandments there is blessing, but if you do not obey, those curses will come upon you and pursue and overtake you. The list is long and solemn because God shows how seriously He views disobedience and sin, and how His anger rests upon rebellion.

That is why our hope is not in trying to break curses by our own effort, but in Jesus Christ. He Himself bore our griefs and infirmities, as Isaiah prophesied and as Matthew shows was fulfilled when Jesus went about healing every sickness and every disease and having authority over evil powers. On the cross He bore the curse for us so that those who are in Him are no longer under that condemnation. We pray that any influence of sin, oppression or accusation against you and your son would be broken in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, and that you both would walk in the freedom and blessing that belong to those who are forgiven and received as children of God. Your sins being blotted out, times of refreshing can come from the presence of the Lord.

We also pray for your son's health. The Lord is a healer and we believe very strongly in healing. The Gospels show Jesus healing in different ways, sometimes instantly with a touch or a word, sometimes gradually, sometimes by going to the person and sometimes from a distance. Any true healing process is from God, for He created our bodies and established the natural processes of restoration within them, and that is no less divine. At the same time Scripture teaches us not to presume that God must heal in every case exactly as we ask or when we ask. Paul prayed three times concerning his thorn in the flesh and the Lord had a different purpose in leaving it. We do not always understand why some are healed quickly and others walk through a longer process, but we can trust the Lord's wisdom and love while we keep asking.

So we ask the Lord to give your son wisdom and strength to lose weight safely, in a healthy and gradual way that honors God and cares for the body He has given. We pray for discipline, for good counsel, and for encouragement day by day, and that the Lord would guard his health in the process.

We also pray for healing from past hurts. The deepest wounds often come from those we have trusted most, when words were smooth as butter but war was in the heart, and that kind of betrayal hurts more than almost anything. Many of us carry records of the past in our memories that keep the pain alive. The Lord not only forgives sin but blots out the past and heals the scars and wounds left in our minds and emotions. We ask Him to do that divine healing in your son, to lift guilt and condemnation, to mend what was broken, and to fill him with peace.

May the Lord keep you both, cause you to hear His voice and to walk in His ways, and may you know His presence, His protection, and His restoring power in every area of need. We continue to pray that you will know the joy and blessing of fellowship with Him.
