Deliverance

We have lifted your request before the Lord and prayed for you and your son.

The Bible speaks of curses pronounced from Mount Ebal as the consequence of breaking God's covenant, with the people answering Amen to acknowledge that God's judgment is right. In Deuteronomy 27 and 28 the blessings for obedience are brief and the curses for disobedience are many, because the people so often turned from the voice of the Lord. Those curses were not empty words but the declared result of shunning God's commands. Yet Scripture also shows that Jesus came to bear what we could not bear ourselves. As Matthew recalls from Isaiah 53, He bore our infirmities and carried our sicknesses, and Paul writes that Christ redeemed us from the curse by becoming a curse for us. In Him there is forgiveness and deliverance when we cry out to the Lord. He is able to break chains and bonds that seem hopeless, to set free those held by darkness, and to bring us from judgment into mercy. We have prayed that any claim of a curse over your lives would be broken in Jesus Christ, that you would rest in His finished work, and that you would walk in the freedom and blessing that come from trusting and obeying Him.

We have also prayed for your son. We asked God to give him wisdom and strength to care for his body in a safe and healthy way, and to guide him into habits that honor the Lord and sustain his health. Healing is from God, and He works in many ways. Sometimes He heals instantly with a word or a touch, and sometimes He heals gradually through the natural processes He has built into our bodies. Both are divine, because He is the Creator of those processes. We prayed for steady, safe progress, for discipline and encouragement, and for protection from harmful or extreme methods.

We prayed as well for healing from past hurts. The Lord not only heals the body but also heals the mind and heart. He can heal the wounds and scars left by painful experiences, bringing inner restoration and peace. We asked Him to comfort your son, to mend what has been broken, to lift the weight of old sorrows, and to fill him with hope and thanksgiving as he sees God's wonderful works in his life.

May you both know the nearness of Jesus, trust Him as Savior, and continue to call upon Him. He hears those who cry to Him and He is faithful to deliver and to heal according to His perfect wisdom and love.
