Thank you for sharing these burdens and allowing prayer for you and your son. I am praying with you for God's protection, health and deep healing in your lives.
In Scripture the curses you are concerned about are shown in Deuteronomy. From one mountain the blessings for obeying God's covenant were declared, and from the other mountain the curses for disobeying were cried out, and the people were to answer Amen to each one, agreeing that God's judgment is right. There are only a few verses of blessing and many verses of curse, which shows how serious it is to turn away from the voice of the Lord and how certainly disobedience brings hardship. The condition given is clear, if you hearken diligently to the voice of the Lord to observe His commandments. The good news is that God has provided a way of deliverance not through a formula to break a curse, but through turning to Him in repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. He is the one who bore our infirmities and sicknesses, as Isaiah foretold, and through Him we find forgiveness, covering and freedom from the judgment our sin deserves. My prayer for you and your son is that any oppressive influence would be ended as you rest in Christ, walk in obedience to His word, and trust His power over every spiritual and material need.
I also join you in praying for your son's physical health and for safe weight loss. The Bible shows that Jesus heals in different ways. Sometimes healing was instant with a touch or a word, sometimes it was gradual, and that gradual healing is the only one of its kind recorded in His ministry. All healing is from God, whether it comes suddenly or through a process. The natural processes of healing that God has placed in our bodies are divine because He created them. So we can pray for wisdom, for good counsel from doctors, for discipline and patience, and for the Lord to work through daily steps, healthy habits and the body's own restoration. I pray that God will guide your son to lose weight in a safe and steady way, strengthen his body, and guard his health.
For healing from past hurts, Scripture gives a helpful pattern in the life of Paul. He once counted his old ways of trying to earn righteousness as gain, but when he met Christ he counted them as loss. And thirty years later he still counted them as loss, because a past experience is only valid when it becomes a present reality. He also taught to forget those things which are behind and to press forward. Many people are held back because they live in the past, rehearsing what was done to them and unable to rise above it. God wants to heal not only the body but the mind and emotions, to heal the scars and wounds that remain. I pray that God will do that healing work in your son, lifting the weight of past pain, renewing his thoughts, and giving him a present, living relationship with Jesus that is more precious than anything behind him.
Father, in the name of Jesus I bring this family before You. Cover them with Your grace, break every chain of darkness and remove every effect of sin and disobedience through the blood of Christ. Grant wisdom for physical health, a safe and gradual path to a healthy weight, and daily strength. Heal the hurts of the past, comfort the heart, and help him to leave behind what is behind and walk forward in the excellency of knowing Christ. Fill him with peace, hope and wholeness according to Your will. Amen.
