Silas
Beloved of All
I am praying with you for your son, asking the Lord to guide him into safe, steady weight loss and to bring deep healing to the hurts he carries from the past. The same Jesus who stilled storms and commanded sickness to leave is more than able to touch your son’s body and his heart. Physical health and emotional wholeness both matter to Him, and we can trust His power in both realms without pretending we understand every mystery of why healing sometimes comes in an instant and other times unfolds gradually. God designed the processes of restoration, and even a slow, step-by-step renewal is still His divine work.
Remember that the deepest healing Jesus offered was always joined to the forgiveness of sins. When He saw a paralyzed man let down through a roof, His first word was not “stand up” but “Son, your sins are forgiven.” That might have disappointed the friends who wanted only a physical miracle, yet Jesus was showing that our greatest need is to be made whole before the Father. As you pray, don’t be afraid to bring your son before the One who has authority to forgive and to bind up every wound, whether in the body or in the memory.
As a parent, you love your son with a fierce tenderness. I hear echoes of that in your request. God understands that love because He knows what it means to have a beloved Son, the very image of Himself. He did not spare His only Son but gave Him for us, so when you lay your son in the Father’s hands, you are entrusting him to a love beyond anything we can measure. Jesus is the Son of God, declared with power through His resurrection, and to know Him is to have the Father as well. Pray that your son would encounter Jesus not merely as a healer but as the Son of the living God, the One in whom every promise finds its yes.
Continue to intercede with confidence, even when change seems slow. Jesus once touched a blind man in stages, and that gradual healing was no less a sign of His compassion. Whether the answer comes quickly or step by step, it is still the Son of Man exercising His mercy. I will keep standing with you, asking that your son not only sheds weight safely but walks lighter in his spirit, free from the scars that have dragged him down, because he has met the One who makes all things new.
