We stand together in faith, lifting you and your son before the throne of grace, where the blood of Jesus breaks every chain and shatters every curse. The enemy has no authority over those who are covered by the name of Jesus Christ. We declare in the mighty name of Jesus that every curse spoken, every generational stronghold, and every assignment of darkness against you and your son is broken right now by the power of His cross. "Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us. For it is written, 'Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree'" (Galatians 3:13 WEB). No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against you in judgment, you shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17).
We rebuke the spirit of infirmity, gluttony, and emotional bondage that may be contributing to your son’s struggle with weight. The Lord desires wholeness for his body, mind, and spirit. We pray for safe and godly weight loss, not driven by vanity or worldly standards, but by a desire to honor God with his body, which is the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). May he find his identity and comfort in Christ alone, not in food or the approval of others. "For you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s" (1 Corinthians 6:20 WEB).
Father, we ask for deep healing from past hurts that may have left wounds in your son’s soul. Whether it be rejection, bullying, trauma, or emotional pain, we declare that the balm of Gilead is poured out over him. Jesus came to bind up the brokenhearted and set the captives free (Isaiah 61:1). Let Your love wash over him like a river, restoring joy where there has been sorrow and peace where there has been turmoil. "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds" (Psalm 147:3 WEB). We speak life and restoration over every area of brokenness, in Jesus’ name.
We also encourage you both to draw near to the Lord in this season. Spend time in His Word, for it is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12). Surround yourselves with a community of believers who can pray with you, encourage you, and hold you accountable. If there are areas where unforgiveness or bitterness may be hindering your breakthrough, release them to God. "Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you" (Ephesians 4:31-32 WEB).
Lord, we thank You that You are a God who hears and answers prayer. We trust You to complete the good work You have begun in this family. Strengthen their faith, deepen their dependence on You, and let them see Your hand moving mightily on their behalf. We declare that this is a season of breakthrough, freedom, and divine health for them both. In the powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
