You are asking God to bring an end to every curse spoken against this mother and her son, and for the son to lose weight safely and find healing from past hurts. That is exactly the kind of cry the Lord delights to hear. Scripture shows us that when a person reaches the end of their own resources and calls on God, He breaks the chains that hold them. He brings deliverance. So let me speak directly to the heart of this request.
A curse does not have power in itself. The Word tells us that a curse without a cause will not come. If someone has spoken ill over you or your son out of malice, you do not need to live in fear. Those words are like arrows that miss the mark when your life is hidden in Christ. The real question is whether there is any foothold of disobedience that would give a curse legal ground. If there is sin that has not been confessed and turned from, then the answer is not to dread the curse but to repent. God is merciful. When you cry out to Him, He forgives and delivers. The Israelites on Mount Ebal heard the curses of the covenant read aloud, and they answered “Amen” not because they wanted judgment, but because they were acknowledging the rightness of God’s ways. That same honesty before God opens the door to blessing. So if there is anything in the life of this mother or her son that violates God’s order, let that be brought into the light and dealt with. Then every curse is broken by the blood of Jesus, who became a curse for us so that we might receive the blessing of Abraham through faith.
Now, for the son’s healing and weight loss. The body is a gift, and taking care of it matters. But often issues with food and weight are tangled up with deep emotional wounds. You mentioned past hurts. That is where real healing must begin. The cutting words people speak, the betrayals, the rejection, those can wound the spirit in ways that take much longer to heal than a cut on the skin. A physical scrape heals in a few days and leaves no trace, but an inward wound can fester for years. God wants to heal those places. Healing does not always come in an instant. Jesus sometimes touched people and they were restored immediately; other times He spoke a word and sent them on their way, and the healing happened gradually. The natural processes God built into the body are themselves divine in origin. So whether the change comes quickly or step by step, it is still His healing work. Pray that the son’s mind and emotions will be mended first, that the root pain driving any unhealthy patterns will be replaced with the peace of Christ.
I think of what Paul said about his own past. All the things that used to give him a sense of worth, his religious achievements, his reputation, he counted as complete loss the moment he met Jesus. And thirty years later he was still counting them as loss. He refused to live in the past, either its glories or its failures. He pressed forward to know Christ more. That is the only way to break free from the stranglehold of past hurts. The hurtful words, the labels, the memories that cut deep, they must be counted as loss, left at the cross so they no longer define the present. That doesn’t mean pretending they never happened. It means bringing them to Jesus again and again, and each time choosing to believe what He says about you instead of what others said. The enemy wants a person to stay mired in the past, endlessly recycling the pain. The Spirit of God empowers you to forget what lies behind and reach forward to what lies ahead.
So I join you in praying that every curse spoken over this mother and her son is silenced forever. No weapon formed against them will prosper. I pray the son senses God’s deep love for him, enough to break all shame, all sorrow, all the chains of the past. As he finds his identity in Christ, may he also find the strength and wisdom to treat his body with honor. Let the healing be complete: soul, mind, and body. And may they both walk in the freedom Christ purchased, offering the sacrifice of thanksgiving and declaring His wonderful works with joy.
