Deliverance

Pray all curses against me and my son are ended. Pray for my son to lose weight safely and healing from past hurts.

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this urgent cry for deliverance and healing. Father God, we stand in the authority of the name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can be saved and set free. There is power in the blood of Jesus to break every chain, to shatter every curse, and to bring restoration to what has been broken. We declare that no weapon formed against this parent and child shall prosper, for they are covered by the blood of the Lamb.

Lord, we rebuke every generational curse, every spoken word of harm, every evil assignment, and every spiritual oppression that has been set against them. In the name of Jesus, we command these curses to be broken and rendered powerless. "Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written, 'Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree'" (Galatians 3:13 WEB). We claim this redemption over their lives today. Every curse that has sought to hinder, harm, or destroy is nullified by the finished work of the cross. We speak life, freedom, and blessing where there has been bondage and affliction.

Father, we also lift up this precious son, asking for Your divine intervention in his physical health. We pray for safe and sustainable weight loss, not by the world’s standards, but by Your wisdom and design. Give him discipline and self-control, which are fruits of Your Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23 WEB). Surround him with godly influences who will encourage him in healthy habits, and let his body respond to Your healing touch. We declare that his metabolism is balanced, his cravings are aligned with Your will, and his strength is renewed like the eagle’s (Isaiah 40:31 WEB).

But Lord, we know that healing is not just physical, it is emotional and spiritual as well. We ask that You would heal the deep wounds of his past. Comfort him in his pain, and let him know that You are close to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18 WEB). Replace bitterness with forgiveness, shame with dignity, and fear with Your perfect love. Let him walk in the freedom that Christ died to give him (John 8:36 WEB). If there are areas where he has believed lies about himself or Your love for him, we ask that You would reveal the truth and set him free.

We also want to gently address the foundation of this prayer. While the request is heartfelt, we must emphasize that true deliverance and healing come only through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. If this parent and son have not yet surrendered their lives to Him, we urge them to do so today. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6 WEB). Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12 WEB). We pray that they would confess their sins, repent, and invite Jesus to be their Lord and Savior. Only then can they experience the fullness of the deliverance and healing they seek.

Heavenly Father, we stand in the gap for this family, declaring that they are no longer victims but victors in Christ Jesus. We pray that they would walk in the light of Your truth, free from the darkness that has sought to ensnare them. Strengthen their faith, deepen their trust in You, and let them see Your hand moving in their lives. May they experience the peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7 WEB) and the joy of Your salvation.

In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We are so glad you reached out, mother to mother before the Lord. The weight of feeling that something unseen is working against you and your son is heavy, and we want to stand with you in prayer right now. Jesus came to destroy the works of the enemy, and His victory covers your household. When we pray for every curse to be broken, we are simply enforcing what Christ has already accomplished.

A grounded next step might be to ask a mature Christian minister or a trusted prayer team at your church to walk with you through a time of focused prayer for deliverance and inner healing. That kind of ministry often includes renouncing any ties to the past, forgiving those who have harmed you, and specifically commanding any oppressive spirits to leave in Jesus’ name. Having a few wise believers alongside you can make a real difference, not because a formula is needed, but because there is incredible strength when we agree together in prayer. Your own voice, joined with theirs, carries authority as a believer.

For your son, we join you in asking God to heal the deep hurts he carries. Often emotional pain becomes entangled with our physical struggles, and as those wounds are touched by Christ, freedom in other areas follows. We also want to mention gently that if he hasn’t already, it would be wise for him to see a doctor or a nutritionist so he can lose weight safely under good medical guidance, that is simply good stewardship of his body, even as we pray for supernatural help. Prayer and practical care go hand in hand.

Lord Jesus, we lift up this mother and her son to You. We declare that every curse spoken against them is broken by Your cross. We command any dark spirit that has harassed them to release its hold and leave, for You alone have authority. Bring deep healing to this son’s heart, comfort every place of past hurt and replace shame with Your love. Grant him steady, safe progress in losing weight, and give his mother continued strength and hope as she intercedes for him. Thank You that they are safe in Your hands. In Your mighty name we pray, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The curse you speak of finds its end at the cross, for Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us. Is it not marvelous that God should give His own dear Son, God, like Himself, to bear the consequences of our sin? Every curse against you and your son is swallowed up in that one decisive act, for the prisoner is ready to be executed, but there comes to him undeserved deliverance from all punishment, for the King's own Son has borne the penalty of all his iniquities. Look to Him who was made sin for us, and there is life from sin by that look. The clock of mercy struck in Heaven the hour and moment of deliverance, for the time had come; thus had the eternal purpose of Jehovah decreed it.

For your son’s healing and the weight of past hurts, remember that the very leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations. The least thing about Christ is healing, and when the Sun of Righteousness rises with healing in His wings, pardon and healing are one. You shall not remember the reproach of your widowhood any more; the joy of pardon makes us ignore the sorrow of the past. And what is this chastenening you both have borne but the rod of a Father who deals in weight and measure, not in anger, but from His dear covenant love? He gave Egypt and Ethiopia for them, He did more, He gave His Son for them; He gave heaven’s brightest jewel that He might redeem them from all iniquity, to be His own peculiar people. Did He give His own dear Son to put away our sin, and will He not also care for the body and the mind? Let there be no doubt; the deliverance from the power of sin is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin.

I remember the old patriarch who cried, ‘My grey hairs shall be brought with sorrow to the grave, for Joseph my son is, without a doubt, rent in pieces,’ yet God had gone before him to preserve life. So too your son’s appetite and memories are not beyond the reach of the outstretched arm of Jehovah. Go speak to the winds, spread your griefs to the pitiless sea, for God’s ear is shut? Nay, He has found a ransom, a gift of Divine Love, and He will bring him forth. You shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord. All his past sin is blotted out and his future is brightening up into the full blaze of eternal glory; these healing leaves change the life blood, affect the spirits and make the nature other than it was before. Trust in that deliverance which comes when the Lamb is slain, and know that the inhabitant shall not say, I have been sick, for the Lord has been gracious to him.

You speak of curses as though they have power to bind you, but consider this: if you suffer wrong and yet are thankful, you are like one who despises wealth and worldly things, and the loss becomes gain. The devil intends harm, but God can turn it to your benefit. Do not run to superstitions or imagine that words of men can hold you captive; rather, receive the deliverance Christ has already given. He frees us from the curse of the Law and makes us sons. What curse can stand against that?

For your son’s weight and inner hurts, the body is not the enemy, but the unruly passions of the soul. To discipline the flesh is an act of the soul, not the flesh itself. Do not merely seek ease of body while leaving the soul soft and unmanly. Fortitude, careful hearing of God’s word, deliverance from all worldly things, these are required. Let him not look for healing in vain comforts, but in the fear of God and the mastery of his appetites. For what does it profit to be freed from one burden if he remains captive to another, enslaved to his own desires?

Pray rather that both of you despise what harms the soul, that you serve God alone and not mammon. Not one part of virtue suffices, but a continual recollection of His promises. If you have not blasphemed, not turned to diviners, but remained thankful in suffering, you are already on the path. The teacher is Christ; look to Him, and do not seek deliverance on your own terms, but on His. He says, “I will in nowise cast out,” and His gifts are greater than any other, authority over all things in Heaven, made sons with Him. That is true deliverance.

So I say to you both: amend your lives, not merely your circumstances. If health comes, let it be to serve God, not the body. If past hurts are healed, let it be by the Spirit of adoption, so you cry out not for relief alone, but for likeness to Him. This is the safe weight loss, to shed the heaviness of sin, and the lasting deliverance, to be freed from the world’s bondage and promoted to sonship.

When you feel the weight of a curse, it can feel like living under that cry from Mount Ebal. The law set before Israel a clear choice: obedience leading to blessing, and turning away leading to curses that would overtake them. The covenant was real, and the consequences for breaking it were devastating. Many have walked in that valley and heard the echo of those words and felt the darkness close in.

But what the law made clear is that none of us could stand on our own. The curses that were pronounced for disobedience only highlight how desperately we need a Redeemer. Jesus Christ became the curse for us, as Scripture says, so that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles through faith. He entered into the iron furnace on our behalf. If you are in Christ, the pronouncement over you is no longer the cry from Ebal. He has redeemed you from the hand of the enemy, broken the bonds of your sin, and brought you out of darkness. A curse that is causeless, that has no ground because it has already been nailed to the cross, will not land. Your safety is not in dodging words spoken against you but in belonging to the One who has overcome every curse for you.

About your son and his healing: physical health and emotional wounds are both real and valid burdens. We see in Scripture that healing from the Lord is not always instantaneous. Sometimes it is a gradual process, just as the body itself has divinely established ways to restore itself. The God who created those natural processes is still the Healer, whether the change comes in a moment or over time. Pray for wisdom and consistency as he pursues weight loss safely, and remember that any true restoration comes from the Lord’s hand.

Those past hurts run deep. Emotional wounds often take longer to heal than physical ones. When someone you trusted wounds you, the pain can linger for years. It is easy to live in the horror and defeat of a past day, replaying the grief and wishing it could be changed. But living in that place will only keep you bound. The apostle Paul counted everything in his past, both his self-righteous achievements and his shameful failures, as loss for the excellency of knowing Christ Jesus. That was not a one-time decision; he continued to count it all as refuse decades later. The past only holds validity when it is translated into a present that is humbly walking with Jesus.

Do not let past failures, whether yours or those committed against your son, discourage you from pressing forward. Bring the hurts honestly to the Lord. He does not cast you away from His presence for your honesty. He heals the deep cuts and tends to the scars. Forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead is a daily act of trust. And while you do that, you can still rejoice in the Lord, knowing your judgment comes from Him and His favor is what truly covers you.
