Deliverance

Curses are no more than the hiss of a defeated serpent, and Christ has crushed his head. Why do you tremble at what God has already vanquished? A curse spoken over a child has no power unless the soul consents to it by fear or unbelief. Pray rather that this mother and her son shall despise these words as chaff scattered in a storm. The only deliverance needed is for their hearts to cling to the promise that no weapon formed against them shall prosper. Let them fast from anxiety, feast on the Scriptures, and laugh at the devil's impotent rage. The curse dies when we refuse to feed it with terror.

As for the son's weight, the body is not the enemy. It is the soul that must first be lightened. What heap of sorrows is he carrying that bread tries to comfort? Past hurts are like a poison in the well; you may bail out the water, but until the poison is removed, the sickness returns. Let him bring his wounds to the Physician, not the pantry. When the soul learns to feast on thanksgiving and pour out tears instead of grievances, the flesh will obey. A man who has tasted the joy of forgiveness has little appetite for excess. The same grace that breaks curses will break chains of gluttony and grief. Deliverance is one work; do not divide it.

You’ve asked for prayer against curses, for safe weight loss, and for healing from past hurts. That’s a heavy load, and I want to share some solid ground you can stand on right now.

The fear of a curse can feel overwhelming, as if someone’s words have power over your family. But Scripture gives a picture that has helped many: “As the bird by wandering, as the swallow by flying, so the curse causeless shall not come.” A swallow flits and darts, never settling. A curse spoken against someone who is in Christ is like that swallow: it has no place to land. It is causeless because Jesus already took every curse for us. He became a curse on the tree so that no curse of the law, no hex, no evil utterance can cling to you or your son. The only words that have final authority are God’s words of blessing over His people. So rather than worrying about what someone may have said, rest in the finished work of the cross. Pray with confidence that those words are shattered and empty.

As for your son’s weight loss, bring this to the Lord who cares about our bodies. He bore our infirmities and carried our sicknesses; His heart is for our wholeness. Ask for wisdom, for self-control, and for any underlying hurt that might be driving harmful patterns to be gently exposed and healed. Physical health is not separate from spiritual and emotional health, and our Father is not afraid of the process. He leads us step by step.

Past hurts, especially those from cruel words, can cut so deeply that the wound feels fresh for years. Emotional abuse can outlast physical pain because it lodges in the mind and replays. But living in the defeat of yesterday only brings torment. The apostle Paul looked at all his past, all his old identity and pain, and said: “I count them but loss … I do count them as refuse, that I may win Christ.” He refused to let the past define his present. That doesn’t mean pretending the hurt never happened; it means letting go of its power over you. It means turning your back on the constant rehearsal of old griefs and instead pressing forward into the newness Jesus offers. His character is constant. His love doesn’t fluctuate. He can be trusted to heal those deep places.

The enemy whispers, “Curse God and die” in a thousand different ways, trying to lock us in bitterness. But the cry of faith says, “Shall we receive good from the hand of God and not receive what is hard?” Even when deliverance seems impossible, God can make a way. He broke the bands of the yoke for His people then, and He does it now. So I join you in praying that every curse against you and your son is ended, that his journey toward health is safe and steady, and that those old emotional injuries lose their sting as he finds his safety in the Lord. May you both know the joy of being delivered, not by your own striving, but by the One who calls you blessed.

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer for deliverance and healing. It has been our heart’s desire to lift up every curse broken over you and your son, asking the Lord to release His perfect peace and protection in its place. We have also prayed earnestly for your son’s physical health—that he would lose weight safely, as the Lord leads, and that his body would be strengthened in the process. More than that, we have asked God to bring deep emotional healing for past hurts, covering both of you with His comfort and restoration.

If the Lord has moved in answer to these prayers, we would be so encouraged to hear your praise report—let us rejoice together in His faithfulness. If the answers have not yet come, or if new needs have arisen, please share them again so we may continue to stand with you in agreement before the throne of grace.

May the Father continue to draw near to you both, filling your hearts with hope and your steps with His guidance. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
