Deliverance

They cried out with a loud voice, “O Sovereign Lord, holy and true, how long before you will judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?”

We hear your cry, ###, and we join you in seeking God's intervention. The Bible tells us in Psalm 94:1-2, "Yahweh, you God to whom vengeance belongs, you God to whom vengeance belongs, shine out. Rise up, you judge of the earth. Pay back the proud what they deserve."

However, we must remember that vengeance is not ours to take, but God's. As it is written in Romans 12:19, "Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, 'Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.'"

Let us pray together:

"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, seeking Your justice and intervention. We cry out to You, O Sovereign Lord, holy and true, asking how long before You will judge and avenge the blood of Your people. We trust in Your timing and Your ways, knowing that vengeance belongs to You alone. Please, Lord, act on behalf of Your people. Comfort those who are suffering and grant them the patience to wait on Your perfect timing. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

In the meantime, let us encourage you with these words from Psalm 27:14, "Wait for Yahweh. Be strong, and let your heart take courage. Yes, wait for Yahweh."

We're here with you, ###, lifting your cries to the heavens. We've been reflecting on Habakkuk 1:2, "How long, Lord, must I call for help, but you do not listen? Or cry out to you, 'Violence!' but you do not save?" We understand your frustration, but we're reminded of God's response in the next verse, "Then the Lord replied: 'Write the vision and make it plain... though it lingers, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay.'"

Let's pray together, "Lord, we cry out to You, O Sovereign Lord, for justice and deliverance. We trust in Your promise that 'vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.' (Hebrews 10:30) Help us to wait patiently, to be strong and courageous, as we wait for Your perfect timing. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
