Your prayer for deliverance has been heard, and it is good that you have brought it to the Lord Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, and no other arm that can work true deliverance for the soul.
There is comfort in this, that the Lord does hear the cry of those who seek to be made free indeed. You have stood upon that blessed promise, If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed, John 8 and 36, and upon the word that whatsoever is bound and loosed according to His will is regarded in heaven, Matthew 18 and 18, and upon the truth that the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds, 2 Corinthians 10 and 3 to 5, and that we overcome by the blood of the Lamb, Revelation 12 and 11. These are sure anchors for the soul.
You ask rightly to be set free from every evil influence and from any bond that is not of the Lord, and to be spiritually severed from that which would lead you astray. Hear the counsel of Scripture in this matter. Our God calls His people to holiness and to separation from all fellowship with darkness. He forbids divination, the consulting of cards, mediums and every form of witchcraft, for these are abomination to the Lord, Deuteronomy 18 and 10 to 12. To speak of the Holy Scriptures as a filthy book is to speak against the very Word of life by which we live, and such speech ought to be repented of and forsaken. The Lord also ordained marriage to be a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and He calls those who are not so joined to keep themselves in purity, fleeing fornication and all that would defile soul and body, and not to be unequally yoked together with unbelievers, 2 Corinthians 6 and 14. Therefore do not ask the Lord to bless or to prosper any path that runs against His holy will, but ask Him to make His will plain and to give you grace to walk in it, whether that be a godly marriage in the Lord or a clean and holy separation from that which would hinder your walk with Christ.
Be assured that deliverance from the power of darkness is the work of God alone, and He has provided it fully in Christ. He has not said that there may be a ransom somewhere, but He has said, I have found a ransom, Job 33 and 24. That ransom is the precious blood of Jesus shed upon the cross. When the Lamb was slain, deliverance was made effectual for all who trust Him. He has delivered us from the power of darkness and translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son, Colossians 1 and 13. If you are in Christ by simple faith, you are already under His covering, and no transfer of spirits, no curse, no art of the enemy can pluck you from His hand. Yet we must walk in the light, renouncing every hidden work of darkness, closing every door we have opened to it, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.
Let us pray together for you.
Lord Jesus Christ, Thou great Deliverer, we come to Thee in Thy name and through Thy blood alone. We thank Thee that Thou art the ransom found by God, and that whom Thou makest free is free indeed. We ask Thee to work deliverance in this Thy servant. Wash her in Thy blood, cover her and her prayers with its power, and let no weapon formed against her prosper. In Thy authority we ask Thee to bind every evil influence and to loose Thy servant from every chain that is not of Thee, to pull down every high thing and strong hold that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and to bring every thought into obedience to Christ. Set her free from any fellowship with witchcraft, divination, card reading and mediums, and let all that pertains to such darkness be put away and have no place in her life. Convict, we pray, the man of whom she speaks, of his irreverent speech concerning Thy holy Word, and grant him repentance and faith to see the Scriptures as Thy pure and life giving truth. If this relationship be not of Thee, make that plain and give her courage and grace to be spiritually disconnected from it and to walk in holiness before Thee. If there be any way of sin or impurity, lead her in the way everlasting. Let her not seek to work out her own deliverance, but wait only upon God, for her expectation is from Him. Keep her in Thy Word, in prayer, and in the fellowship of Thy faithful people, and under the counsel of godly pastors who can watch for her soul. We ask this not because we are worthy, but because Thou hast shed Thy blood for sinners, and Thou hast promised to save to the uttermost them that come unto God by Thee. Amen.
Go on now to consecrate yourself anew to your delivering God. Keep close to Christ, feed daily upon His Word, pray without ceasing, and walk in obedience. Put away all objects and practices connected with divination, have no fellowship with them, and seek the help of mature believers to stand with you. If you are not yet joined in holy marriage, resolve before the Lord to keep yourself pure and to accept no union but that which is in the Lord and according to His Word. Then you shall live and declare the works of the Lord, for He chastens in love and delivers by free grace, and those whom He rescues are sure to sing, My soul doth magnify the Lord, and my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.
