Deliverance Prayer

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Lord Jesus,

I praise you, and thank you. I glorify you. Lord Jesus I ask the you humble my brothers hatred towards me, asking that you bring down any strongholds or footholds this he is trying to create over me to harm or hinder me, standing on 2 Corinthians 10:3-5. Lord Jesus I ask that you restore me from all hatefulness and attacks coming from my brothers hatred towards, standing on Isaiah 61;7. Lord Jesus I ask that you set me free of all negativity coming from my brother, standing on John 8:36.

Lord Jesus I ask that you root out my brother from the house where we live if he is not here by you Lord Jesus, standing on Jeremiah 12:14.

I bind off any transfer of spirits coming to me from anyone my brother, standing on Matthew 18:18.

In Jesus name I pray and ask. Amen.

We hear the pain in your request and we stand with you in prayer for deliverance and peace in your household, and we praise God that you have come in the name of Lord Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved and set free, as it is written Acts 4:12 and John 14:6.

We understand the burden of feeling hated and hindered by your own brother, and the desire to be free from negativity and spiritual oppression is right and good. We rejoice that you are standing on the truth that our battle is not of the flesh, for though we walk in the flesh, we don't wage war according to the flesh, for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, 2 Corinthians 10:3-5. We also cling with you to the promise that if therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed, John 8:36, and that instead of your shame you will have double, and instead of dishonor you will rejoice in your portion, therefore in your land you will possess double and everlasting joy will be to you, Isaiah 61:7. These are precious promises for your restoration and freedom in Christ.

We also want to gently and lovingly bring correction where your prayer asks God to root out your brother from the house where you live if he is not there by the Lord, standing on Jeremiah 12:14. We must handle the Word carefully, and that verse speaks of the Lord's judgment on the nations that plundered Israel, saying Thus says Yahweh against all my evil neighbors who touch the inheritance which I have caused my people Israel to inherit, Behold, I will pluck them out of their land, Jeremiah 12:14. It is not a prayer we are given to pray against a brother or family member in our own home. The heart of God for brothers and for households is reconciliation and love, not removal through a curse. We are commanded to love even those who hate us, for Jesus said love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you, Matthew 5:44. And we are warned that if a man says, I love God, and hates his brother, he is a liar, for he who doesn't love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen, 1 John 4:20. Hated as you may feel, we must not return hatred for hatred or ask God to do harm to your brother, but to transform him.

We also want to encourage you regarding binding and loosing from Matthew 18:18, where Jesus says Most certainly I tell you, whatever things you bind on earth will have been bound in heaven, and whatever things you loose on earth will have been loosed in heaven, Matthew 18:18. This is given in the context of the church seeking restoration and agreement in prayer according to God's will, not as a formula to control spirits transferred from another person. Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places, Ephesians 6:12. Therefore we do not bind people, we pray that the influence of the enemy over minds and hearts would be broken by the power of Jesus, and that both you and your brother would be loosed to walk in truth.

If your brother's presence brings danger or abuse, it is right to seek godly boundaries, wise counsel from pastors or elders, and safety, and to pursue peace as far as it depends on you, If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men, Romans 12:18. Vengeance belongs to the Lord, Don't seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord, Romans 12:19. And we are told Don't be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good, Romans 12:21. We also must examine our own hearts and forgive, for Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you, Ephesians 4:31-32.

So we will pray not for your brother to be rooted out in anger, but for God to humble and soften both of your hearts, to demolish every stronghold of hatred and division, and to bring restoration and holiness to your home.

We pray together, Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, and we thank You and praise You and glorify Your name. Lord Jesus, we ask You to humble every heart in this house, including our own, and to tear down every stronghold, every foothold, every imagination and high thing that has exalted itself against Your knowledge and against Your love between these brothers. We ask that You would break the power of hatred, bitterness, and negativity, and that You would set this dear one free indeed by Your power, and restore with double portion what has been stolen by strife and attack. Lord, we do not ask for harm upon this brother, but we ask for his salvation, his conviction, his repentance and his transformation, that You would root out sin and hatred from the hearts of both brothers, not root out the person You created and love. Let Your Holy Spirit fill this home with peace, with tenderheartedness and forgiveness. Give wisdom for boundaries that honor You and protect all, and give grace to overcome evil with good and to be at peace as far as it depends on us. We bind the work of the enemy that seeks to divide and hinder, and we loose Your truth, Your freedom, and Your love to reign in this household. Let Your will be done here as it is in heaven. In Jesus name we pray and ask, Amen.

We have been praying with you as you shared this, and we hear how heavy it has been to share a home with a brother whose heart feels hard toward you. Wanting to be free from that constant negativity and to have peace where you live is completely understandable.

Living day after day under tension can wear down anyone. It makes sense you would long for protection and for the atmosphere in your home to change. Part of finding steadier ground is recognizing the difference between releasing the hurt in your own heart and restoring the relationship itself. You can choose to let go of carrying bitterness even while healthy boundaries and trust still need time and wisdom from both sides to be rebuilt.

It may help to invite one trusted pastor or mature believer who knows your situation to walk with you personally. Not to try to control what your brother does, but to help you think through clear, calm boundaries in the house, how to respond when things feel heated, and what a wise next step looks like for your living situation and for peace. If you ever feel unsafe, please reach out right away to someone near you you trust.

Father, we lift our brother to You today. Guard his heart and mind, quiet what has been stirred up by this conflict, and fill his home with Your peace. Give him wisdom for each conversation and decision, strength to walk in grace and truth, and clear direction for what is next. Lead him and his brother toward what is healthy and pleasing to You. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

Your cry has been heard and your desire for deliverance is a right and needful one, for the Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble, and to Him we must flee when hatred presses sore upon us.

You do well to feel the weight of this hatred, for it is a grievous thing to dwell under the same roof with enmity. Remember that our Lord Himself was hated without a cause. Loveable as He was, yea altogether lovely, no being so early met with hatred, and no creature ever endured such continual persecution as He had to suffer. They hated Him though He came to quench the flames of hell for sinners. If you suffer from your brother's hatred, you have fellowship in this respect with your Master, and He will not despise your prayer.

Yet hear what the Word teaches concerning hatred in the heart of a believer. The Christian religion is a golden chain with which the hands of men are fettered from all hatred. The spirit of Christ is love. Wherever He governs, love reigns as a necessary consequence. The Christian man is not allowed to hate any one. Thou hast no right to excrete thy hatred upon any creature, however fallen or debased, however much he may irritate thy temper, or injure thee in thy estate or reputation. Still hatred is a power of manhood, and we believe that all powers of manhood are to be exercised as in the fear of God. Thou hast good reason to hate all evil. Consider what evil has already done thee, what a world of mischief sin has brought into thy heart. Show your hatred to evil by active efforts in putting it down, not by cherishing it toward thy brother.

You speak of strongholds and footholds. Let your mind be rightly directed. Generous rulers provided strongholds for their people, mountain fastnesses where the peasantry might be sheltered from marauders, and such is our God to us. The Lord is our stronghold, not any device of man. The weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds, as you have rightly cited. Therefore pray not only that your brother's designs should be brought down, but that every thought in your own heart may be brought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and that you may be kept from returning hatred for hatred.

You ask that the Lord would root out your brother from the house if he be not planted there by the Lord. Take heed that this prayer be not shaped by bitterness. I stayed at the brook Jabbok, and I said, Lord, give deliverance from him whom I think bloodthirsty. I crossed the brook full of fear and trembling, but tell it, O let it be known for the comfort of others in like trouble with me, I met my brother Esau, and he fell upon my neck and kissed me. So the Lord can turn the heart of a brother. It is better to pray that God would root out the hatred itself, and plant love and peace in its place, and that His will alone may be done in your dwelling. If deliverance must come by separation, let the Lord in His wisdom ordain it, but seek first reconciliation and the salvation of your brother's soul.

You speak also of binding and of the transfer of spirits. Know that our deliverance from the pit comes not by our formulas, but by a ransom which God Himself has found. The prisoner is ready to be executed, but there comes to him undeserved deliverance from all punishment, for the King's own Son has borne the penalty of all his iniquities. God has not only invented a way of deliverance, but He has found a ransom, so that it is a gift of Divine love. When God Himself proclaims concerning him who is going down to the pit, I have found a ransom, then is the deliverance certain, indeed it is already accomplished. In Christ you are set free indeed, as it is written, If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. No power of darkness can possess the soul that is sheltered in Him.

Let us pray together.

O Lord Jesus Christ, Thou who art our stronghold and our deliverer, we come to Thee confessing that we can do nothing and we know it, and that if we ever rise from this trouble it must be of free grace only. We ask Thee to chasten us and to deliver us, for Thou hast chastened us sorely but Thou hast not given us over unto death. Pull down every stronghold of sin and pride and anger, whether in our own heart or in our brother's heart, and bring every thought into obedience to Thyself. Humble what is proud, soften what is hard, and forgive us as Thou hast forgiven us. We pray not from malice but from love, that Thou wouldst save our brother, turn his heart toward Thee and toward peace, and make our house a place of peace within its borders. Let Thy will be done in our dwelling, and if it be Thy will to keep us together, give us grace to live as brethren in Christ, and if Thou must part us, do it in righteousness and not in wrath. Keep us by Thy blood, shelter us from all evil, and make us to live and to declare the works of the Lord. We ask not for our own honor, but that Thou wouldst bring us forth with enrichment by Thy grace, for Thou alone art our deliverance. In Thy name we pray, Amen.
