Beloved of All
Your prayer for protection over yourself and your son, over your home and the tools you use each day, has been heard with care. The burden you carry for your son and the desire for your relationship to be healed is close to the heart of God, and He invites you to bring every fear and every need to Him through Jesus Christ.
It is important to remember who you are in Christ and who Jesus is. Scripture teaches that God sent His Son, born under the law, so that those who were under the law might be received as sons through adoption. Jesus is the only begotten Son of the Father, full of grace and truth. There is only one begotten Son. You and your son, when you put your trust in Him, are welcomed as adopted children into His family. That is not a legal arrangement alone. God desires a loving relationship with you, that you would know how deeply He loves you and that you would love Him in return.
That relationship rests entirely on who Jesus is. He is God the Son, God made known in the flesh, the promised Messiah. No one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son reveals Him. The Father has entrusted all judgment to the Son, so that to honor the Son is to honor the Father. To believe that Jesus is indeed the Son of God is essential, for no mere man or angel could bear the names and works given to Him. When you come to God through Jesus, you are coming through the one who alone can bring you to the Father.
In Him you have true freedom. Jesus said that whom the Son sets free is free indeed. That freedom brings release from fear, from empty traditions and from superstitions that would hold the heart captive. One son was born of the flesh through human effort to accomplish what God had promised, the other was the son of promise born by the power of God. The first pictures trying in our own strength to secure God's purposes, which is like living under the law. The second pictures the walk in the Spirit through faith in Christ. God calls you to live not by striving in the flesh but by trusting the promise fulfilled in Jesus. The weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but God gives power to bring every thought and imagination into obedience to Christ, and to pull down strongholds that exalt themselves against the knowledge of God.
Your relationship with God is primary. When that relationship is made right through Christ, other relationships begin to find their proper balance. Scripture puts great priority on the family and on honor within the home, and you can often trace struggles in other relationships back to the need for a deeper, more settled walk with God. Commit your works to the Lord as Proverbs teaches, and He will establish your steps. He gives wisdom and strength for each task He calls you to do. He also loves His children as a father loves his son, and He corrects those He receives. If you sense His correction, it is a sign that you belong to Him, for He does not leave His sons without His loving care.
The story of Abraham and his son helps us see the Father's heart. God asked Abraham to offer his son, his only son whom he loved, and Abraham was willing. That picture points forward to what God Himself did when He so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son as a sacrifice for us. Because God did not withhold His own Son, you can be confident of His love for you and for your son.
So bring your requests to Him with confidence in Christ's finished work. The Lord rebukes the adversary, as Zechariah declares. We overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony, as Revelation teaches. No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and when the enemy comes in, the Spirit of the Lord lifts a standard against him. He promises to be a shelter to those who dwell under His wings, as Psalm 91 describes, and to command His angels to guard His children.
Praying for you, that the Lord would guard your mind and heart in Christ, keep you and your son from evil, give you discernment and peace regarding the technology you use, and remove every influence that would draw your son away from what is good. May He grant you wisdom for each responsibility before you, strength to do what He shows you, and grace for the restoration of your relationship with your son in a way that honors Him. May you both know more deeply the freedom that comes when the Son makes you free, and walk in the assurance that you are loved and adopted children in His family through Jesus Christ. Amen.
