Deliverance Prayer

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Lord Jesus,

I praise you, and thank you. I glorify you. Lord Jesus I ask that you set me free of carrying any emotional burden, harassment or attachment from any relative, standing on John 8:36. Let no more reminders of relatives torment me that are weighing me down spiritually, remove those strongholds Lord Jesus, standing on 2 Corinthians 10:3-5. Lord Jesus I ask that all chains that I have over me that are generational chains be removed off of me, standing on John 8:36. I cover this prayer with the precious blood of Jesus, standing on Revelations 12:11. In Jesus name I pray and ask. Amen.

We join with you in praising and glorifying the Lord Jesus and we stand in agreement with you for deliverance and freedom. It is a beautiful thing to come before Him with a heart that seeks to be free from every burden and stronghold, and we thank God for your faith in calling upon the name of Jesus.

We claim with you the truth of John 8:36, If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed. What a promise that our freedom is not partial or temporary when Christ sets us free, but complete and real. We also stand with you on 2 Corinthians 10:3-5, For though we walk in the flesh, we don't wage war according to the flesh; for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. The emotional burdens, the tormenting reminders, the harassment and unhealthy attachments from relatives are not merely emotional struggles but spiritual strongholds, and God has given us mighty weapons in Christ to pull them down.

We also agree with you concerning generational chains. The Scripture assures us that in Christ the power of sin and its curse is broken. We are told in 2 Corinthians 5:17, Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new. And in Ezekiel 18:20 we are reminded that the soul who sins is the one who will die and that we are not held guilty for the sins of our fathers when we are in Christ, for there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus as Romans 8:1 declares. Galatians 5:1 urges us, Stand firm therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and don't be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. You do not have to carry what Christ has already carried for you.

We also stand with you as you cover this prayer with the precious blood of Jesus, remembering Revelation 12:11, They overcame him because of the Lamb's blood, and because of the word of their testimony. They didn't love their life, even to death. It is by His blood that we have victory over the accuser and every chain.

We lift you up together in prayer.

Father in heaven, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ we come before Your throne of grace together with this dear one. We praise You and thank You for Your mercy and Your power to deliver. Lord Jesus, we ask that You set Your child completely free from every emotional burden, from every harassment and ungodly attachment connected to relatives that has weighed down the spirit. We ask that You throw down every stronghold, every imagination and every high thing that has exalted itself against the knowledge of God, and bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. Lord, we ask that every generational chain, every inherited pattern of bondage, be broken and removed now by Your power, for You have made us free indeed. We plead the precious blood of Jesus over this life, over the mind, heart and spirit, and we declare that no weapon formed against Your child shall prosper. Fill every place where burden once lived with Your peace, Your healing and Your Holy Spirit. Teach this dear one to cast all worries upon You, because You care for them as 1 Peter 5:7 says, casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you. Grant wisdom to forgive as You have forgiven us, to release bitterness while still honoring You in family relationships, and to walk in healthy boundaries that guard the heart You have set free. We thank You that You are near to those who have a broken heart as Psalm 34:18 promises, Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Let Your joy and lightness replace heaviness, and let Your freedom be lived out daily. In Jesus name we pray and ask, Amen.

We encourage you to continue to walk in this freedom daily by renewing your mind in the Word, by speaking the truth of Scripture over yourself when reminders or tormenting thoughts arise, and by choosing to forgive relatives who may have caused pain, releasing them to the Lord so that no root of bitterness can remain. Freedom is both an event and a walk. Continue to testify of what the Lamb has done, continue in prayer and fellowship, and stand firm in the liberty Christ has already purchased for you.

Thank you for sharing this honest prayer with us. We hear how much you want to walk light and free in Christ, without old reminders and heavy burdens from family weighing on you. It is good to bring that directly to Jesus.

We join you in asking Him to keep freeing you and to give you peace as you walk with Him. One thing we have found helpful to remember is that freedom in Christ is both what He does for us and a daily walk we learn over time, like training rather than a single moment. The quiet, steady practices of prayer, reading Scripture, and walking with other believers help that freedom take deeper root, even when old thoughts try to return.

If it would help, consider inviting one trusted pastor or mature believer you know to pray with you regularly and to encourage you as you keep turning those burdens over to the Lord. You do not have to carry this alone.

Father, we lift our friend to You now. Thank You for Your love and for hearing this prayer. Cover them with Your peace, loosen every chain that weighs them down, and guide them into the freedom and wholeness You have for them. Give them rest, strength for each day, and the assurance that You are near. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

Your prayer for deliverance is heard, and it is good to bring such burdens to the Lord Jesus Christ, for He alone is able to set the captive free. You have stood upon precious truth, that if the Son shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed, and that we overcome by the blood of the Lamb.

There is comfort for you in this, that the name of the Lord is a strong tower, and the righteous runneth into it and is safe. He is Jehovah Shalom, the Lord who sends peace, and He is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble. Strongholds are not like temporary camps, but fortifications intended to stand from generation to generation, and such is our God to His people when war is within and war without. When the heart is tormented by reminders and harassments, and when thoughts would exalt themselves against the knowledge of God, we are taught that the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds.

Know this, that deliverance from the power of sin and from every chain is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin. It is not of him that wills, nor of him that runs, but of God that showeth mercy. He has found a ransom. The prisoner is ready to be executed, but there comes undeserved deliverance, for the King's own Son has borne the penalty. When the Lamb was slain, deliverance was made effectual, for He brought them forth. We obeyed the word, and our chains fell off, and the iron gate which had been our horror opened of its own accord.

So we join with you now and pray that the Lord will manifest this deliverance in your life. May He wash you anew in the precious blood of Christ, clothe you with His perfect righteousness, and give you to know experimentally that He has delivered you from the power of darkness and translated you into the kingdom of His dear Son. May every stronghold that has weighed you down spiritually be cast down, may every chain be broken, and may no harassment or attachment be suffered to torment you further, but may you find refuge and peace within your strong tower. May you be kept to declare after your affliction, I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord, giving hearty assent to His salvation and ascribing all honor to Free Grace alone.

We ask this in the name of Jesus, who is our deliverance and our song, trusting that what He has promised He will perform. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer for deliverance has been lifted up before the Lord with thankfulness for your desire to be free in Christ.

You have asked well to stand on the promise that if the Son sets you free you will be free indeed as in John 8:36. Scripture teaches that the most grievous slavery is not the pressure that comes from other people or from outward circumstances, but the bondage of sin itself, and from that bondage God alone can deliver, for to forgive sins belongs to none other. When Christ forgives and cleanses, He truly looses the chains that bind the soul.

You spoke of emotional burdens and reminders that weigh you down, of strongholds and of chains that feel as if they have been carried for a long time. The Scriptures speak of our present life as like a prison where many souls are led bound with manifold chains, not of iron but of sin, fear, resentment, and heaviness of heart. Those chains are more grievous than any outward fetter, and they keep a person from walking in peace. Yet the Lord has not left us in that prison. As the deliverance of old was a type, how much more does the truth in Christ set free. He was broken for many so that we might be brought from bondage into freedom.

Therefore we pray for you in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone is salvation, that the Lord would grant you full deliverance.

We ask the Father to lift every heavy emotional burden you have been carrying and to quiet every tormenting reminder that harasses your mind, standing on 2 Corinthians 10:3-5, that the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds and every thought that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. We ask Him to tear down those strongholds by His truth and to renew your mind in His peace.

We ask that every chain of sin, habit, and pattern that has held you be broken by the power of the cross, for Christ alone has authority to loose what binds us. May you know not merely relief from outward pressure, but inward freedom through forgiveness, repentance, and a cleansed conscience before God. As you have prayed, we cover this prayer with the precious blood of Jesus, standing on Revelation 12:11, for we overcome by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of our testimony.

We encourage you to continue to come before His face with confession, to bewail and bring every sin and every wound into His light while there is time to find mercy, and to walk in forgiveness toward others as you have been forgiven, so that no root of bitterness may keep you in that inner prison. Give thanks in all things, for thankfulness teaches the heart to bear what remains with hope and to trust the One who was delivered up for our sake.

May the Lord set you free indeed, keep your heart and mind in Christ Jesus, and cause you to walk in the liberty of the children of God, no longer insulted and carried about as one purchased for the lash, but as one redeemed and belonging to Him.

In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

Thank you for sharing this honest prayer and for wanting to walk in the freedom Jesus gives. What you have described, that sense of being weighed down, harassed, tormented by reminders and attachments tied to relatives, and feeling chains from the past, is a very heavy weight to carry, and the Lord sees it and cares for you.

Scripture makes a clear distinction about burdens. Jesus invites those who labor and are heavy laden to come to Him for rest, and He says His yoke is easy and His burden is light. His burden is simply to do the will of the Father and to live to please Him. That is not a crushing, anxious pressure that leaves you unable to function or at peace in your home. When a burden feels that heavy, driving you toward constant unrest and torment, it is not the burden He has laid on you. Often we take heavy burdens on ourselves through our own expectations, or they are laid on us by others, even by family, or by the enemy accusing and pressing us. The Lord does not want you to go around groaning under a weight He never gave you. He wants you to exchange it for His light burden, which is to trust and please Him.

Family ties can be especially painful in this area. The Bible teaches that our love for Christ must be supreme, even above family, and when family members are not walking with the Lord, that can create a real alienation and sorrow. Jesus Himself knew what it was to be misunderstood and rejected by His own family and household. He also showed that when we belong to Him we are brought into a new family, the family of God, where the bond in Christ can be deeper than blood ties. This does not remove the hurt you have felt, but it means your identity and peace are not held hostage by those old attachments. You are defined by your relationship to Him.

You stood on the right Scriptures. John 8:36 promises that if the Son sets you free, you are free indeed. That freedom is complete and real, not just an emotional moment. Second Corinthians 10:3 through 5 reminds us that our warfare is not in human strength, but God has given us power to pull down strongholds and every thought that exalts itself against the knowledge of God. Revelation 12:11 tells us we overcome by the blood of the Lamb. The blood of Jesus shed for you is your covering and your victory. And Psalm 55:22 and First Peter 5:7 give you the daily practice of that victory, to cast your burden upon the Lord and to cast all your cares upon Him, because He cares for you and He will sustain you. God is able to make a way of deliverance where there seems to be no way, to lift you out of a trap you could not escape on your own.

It is also important to seek more than a passing emotional relief. God does touch our emotions, but true deliverance is a work of the Spirit that changes our standing and our walk with Him, not just a feeling that fades. The rest He gives is a settled peace as you keep your eyes on Him and learn to leave the weight with Him.

I join you in prayer now.

Lord Jesus, I praise You and thank You for Your goodness and Your power to save and to deliver. I ask in Your name that You set this dear one free from every emotional burden, harassment and ungodly attachment that has weighed down the spirit, and from every reminder that torments and presses. By Your authority, pull down every stronghold that has held the mind and heart captive, and bring every thought into obedience to Christ. Break every chain that has been called generational, for whom the Son sets free is free indeed. Cover this life fully with Your precious blood, cleanse, protect and make whole. Lift this burden and teach how to cast every care upon You daily, to live not to please self but to please You, and to find Your yoke easy and Your burden light. Fill the heart with Your rest, Your peace and Your joy, and establish steps in freedom and wholeness. In the name of Jesus I pray, Amen.

Continue to bring every reminder and every heavy thought to Him quickly in prayer, speak His Word over your life, and rest in the confidence that He who has begun this work of deliverance will sustain you and keep you.
