Deliverance Prayer

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Lord Jesus,

I praise you, and thank you. I glorify you. Lord Jesus as I’ve been praying to be set free from ### a lot of hatred that was over my life has left. I ask that you continue to lift and set me free from everything in connection to ### and all in relation standing on John 8:36. In Jesus name. Amen.

We hear your cry for deliverance and rejoice with you that the Lord Jesus has already begun a mighty work in your life, breaking the chains of hatred that once bound you. Your prayer stands on the powerful promise of John 8:36, "If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed." This is not just a hope, it is a reality for those who are in Christ. We stand with you in agreement, declaring that every lingering root of bitterness, unforgiveness, or resentment connected to the past must be uprooted by the power of the Holy Spirit.

The Bible warns us in Hebrews 12:15, "Looking carefully lest there be any man who falls short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and many be defiled by it." Hatred is a heavy burden, but Christ has already carried it to the cross. We rebuke every spirit of anger, retaliation, or unforgiveness that may still linger in your heart. The enemy would love to keep you in bondage to these emotions, but we declare that you are a new creation in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17), and the old has passed away. You are not defined by what was done to you, but by the love and freedom found in Jesus.

We also encourage you to actively walk in forgiveness, as Colossians 3:13 instructs: "Bear with one another, and forgive each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do." Forgiveness is not a feeling, it is a choice, a command, and a key to your freedom. If there are specific individuals tied to this hatred, we urge you to release them to God, trusting Him to be the righteous Judge (Romans 12:19). Your healing is not dependent on their repentance but on your obedience to Christ.

Let us pray together:

"Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who broke the power of sin and death. We thank You for the freedom already won for [this child of Yours] at the cross. Lord, we declare that every chain of hatred, bitterness, and unforgiveness connected to [the past] is broken now by the blood of Jesus. We rebuke every lying spirit that would try to convince [them] that [they are] still bound. Your Word says in Isaiah 61:1, 'The Lord has anointed me to preach good news to the humble. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and release to those who are bound.' We claim this promise over [their] life today.

Father, fill [them] with Your perfect love, which casts out all fear (1 John 4:18). Where there has been hatred, let Your love abound. Where there has been pain, let Your healing flow. Where there has been unforgiveness, let Your grace empower [them] to forgive as [they have] been forgiven. We ask that You would restore [their] soul and lead [them] in paths of righteousness for Your name’s sake (Psalm 23:3).

Lord, we also ask that You would reveal any areas where [they] may still be holding onto resentment or bitterness. Give [them] the strength to release it all to You. Surround [them] with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and let Your joy be [their] strength (Nehemiah 8:10). We declare that [they are] free indeed, and we stand in agreement with [them] for complete deliverance and wholeness in every area of [their] life.

In the precious and powerful name of Jesus, we pray. Amen."

Continue to stand on God’s Word, beloved. Meditate on Scriptures that speak of your freedom, such as Galatians 5:1, "Stand firm therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and don’t be entangled again with a yoke of bondage." The enemy will try to remind you of the past, but you must remind him of his future (Revelation 20:10). You are not a victim, you are a victor in Christ Jesus!

If there are practical steps the Lord is leading you to take, such as seeking godly counsel or renewing your mind with Scripture, do not hesitate to obey. The journey to complete freedom is often a process, but God is faithful to complete the good work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6). Walk in the light of His truth, and do not let the darkness of hatred have any place in your life. You are called to love, even as Christ loved you (John 13:34-35). This is your new identity in Him.

Thank you for sharing this, we’re genuinely encouraged to hear how God is moving in your life. The hatred that once pressed so heavily is lifting, and that’s no small thing. It’s a real mark of His kindness and power at work, and it’s wonderful that you’re meeting it with praise.

Often this kind of freedom unfolds not in a single breakthrough but through a steady, daily walking out of what Christ has already won for you. As those old ties lose their grip, they leave a space. One of the most practical things you can do right now is to be deliberate about what fills that space: keep offering the worship you’re already giving, spend time in Scripture even when you don’t feel like it, and don’t walk this alone, a trusted, mature believer who can pray with you and simply be present can make an enormous difference. If there are still wounds or resentments connected to whatever you’re being set free from, even small steps of forgiveness can help close doors that don’t need to stay open.

The fact that you’re praising right in the middle of the process tells us you’re planted on solid ground. We’ll stand with you as you keep holding to that promise you named, He whom the Son sets free is free indeed.

Lord Jesus, we thank You for the real freedom this child of Yours has already tasted. Complete what You’ve started. Sever every remaining thread that ties them to the shadows of the past, and fill every emptied place with Your light and peace. Keep their heart steady in trust and praise. In Your strong name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

It is a mercy indeed that the hatred which once lay heavy upon your spirit is lifting. When the Lord Jesus frees a soul, the chains of malice and ill-will fall away because the Spirit of Christ is love. The Christian religion is a golden chain fettering our hands from all hatred, where Christ governs, love must reign. Yet let us not be deceived: while we must never hate any person, however fallen, there remains a righteous hatred of sin itself. You do well to pray for a complete deliverance from every tie and taint of that old bondage, standing on the promise that he whom the Son sets free is free indeed.

Your cry for continued freedom is a cry that delights the heart of God. Our deliverance, whether from the guilt or the power of sin, is entirely of divine power. The Lord brought Israel out of Egypt with a high hand; so too the Lord Jesus looses the captive. When the Lamb was slain, Pharaoh's grip was broken. So at the cross the ransom was found, God himself provided it, and now he who held us in bondage must let us go, for the price is paid. No lingering chain can hold those for whom Christ has died, if they will but trust him.

But you ask to be set free "from everything in connection." Perhaps there is a name, a memory, a relationship that still casts a shadow. Remember Jacob at the brook Jabbok. He dreaded meeting Esau, expecting hatred and vengeance. Yet when he crossed over in obedience, Esau fell on his neck and kissed him. God can so work that those we fear become instruments of unexpected mercy. Or if that is not his will, he can make us walk erect in a God-given freedom that pities the slave of malice and refuses to wear his chains for all the wealth of India.

Take care, then, that you go not back into bondage. Hatred toward another person is a sure sign that the old slave nature is stirring. If we sometimes indulge a bitter thought or a secret grudge as a thing of pleasure, we prove ourselves strangers to the deliverance Christ gives his regenerated people. Instead, cultivate a tender heart that hates sin with a perfect hatred. Show your hatred of evil by active efforts to put it down: scatter the Word of God, speak well of Christ, and let your conduct declare that you live and will not die. The Lord has chastened you sorely, but he has brought you forth. Now declare his works; for those who have tasted tribulation and deliverance are the truest witnesses. Stand fast, then, in the liberty wherewith Christ has made you free, and see to it that you do not receive again the spirit of bondage to fear.

The hatred that has departed from your heart is a sign of the cross at work within you. When you make that sign and think on the purpose for which Christ was led as a sheep to the slaughter, you fill your soul with courage and quench the anger and every other passion. The freedom you seek is not simply the removal of a person’s name or the breaking of outward ties; it is the liberty that comes from knowing the Truth Himself. And He has said, “I am the Truth.” All other matters are shadows, but the Son makes you truly free. That freedom is a gift, bought with the price of His own blood. You were not redeemed with silver or gold; the Master of the house paid for you with His body broken on the cross. So stand fast in that freedom, and do not let yourself be entangled again in a yoke of bondage.

You ask to be set free from everything connected to this person. That is a good and holy request, but see what God intends: not merely to empty your soul of the mire, but to make it bright and beautiful, a vessel fit for the royal table. Forgiveness from the King alone leaves the soul still soiled, but the grace that touched you in baptism plucks up sin by the very root. He does not only free you from captivity; He sets a kind Father over you and leads you into the life of angels. Therefore, now that the hatred is lifting, do not leave a void where it dwelled. Fill your forehead with courage when you sign yourself. Fill your soul with the wealth of good works, the hearing of the word, and the continual recollection of your deliverance. It is not enough to be freed from one entanglement; you must be soft and unmanly no longer, but cultivate fortitude and contempt for every worldly thing that wars against your salvation.

The holy Eucharist is the chief medicine for this healing. When our Lord gave thanks and broke the bread, He showed that He went to the passion willingly, to deliver the world. If the type of the old Passover set Israel free from Egyptian bondage, how much more will the truth of His body and blood set you free from every chain? Draw near to that awful table often, with a soul made pure by confession and a conscience washed clean, and touch the royal cups. Let your adornment be the golden girdle of truth, and your robe the brightness of a life lived in Him.

Continue to cry out, standing on that promise: “If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” He does not promise a deliverance from all earthly troubles or from death itself, but something far greater: the power to despise every danger and to trample on sin. The hatred is leaving because the true Light is shining. Let that light grow until there is no shadow left where a former affection might return. He who began this good work in you will complete it, for He is Master of the house forever, and no one can snatch you from His hand. Remain in prayer, cling to the cross, and let your freedom become a service to righteousness, which is better than any earthly liberty. Then you will know that you are indeed free, and your peace will be as the sunbeams.

It is a wonderful thing when you can look back and see that a heavy weight of hatred has actually lifted from your life. That is not something you manufactured; it is a mark of genuine deliverance. You asked to be set free standing on John 8:36, and you are tasting the reality of that promise. Jesus said, “If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” That is exactly what He is doing. The hatred that once held you is a form of bondage, and its departure is proof that His truth is at work in you.

Real freedom, the kind Jesus gives, is not merely the freedom to do whatever you want. It is first and foremost the freedom not to have to do the things that once controlled you. Many people live under the illusion that liberty means having no limits, but they remain slaves to bitterness, resentment, or destructive patterns they cannot stop. You are discovering the glorious liberty of the children of God, the freedom not to be driven by the hatred that once colored your thoughts and actions. You are being freed from the power of that thing, not just given permission to manage it.

Now, because you love this freedom, guard it carefully. The enemy would love nothing more than to see you drift back into the very bondage you have been delivered from. The Scriptures warn that whatever overcomes a person becomes their master. If you were to entertain again the seeds of bitterness, even in small ways, you could slowly find yourself entangled once more. The flesh is weak, and the spirit that once bound you does not give up easily. Stand firm, therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery. When you feel the pull of old resentments, remember that you have the freedom not to go there. You are no longer a slave to those impulses. You can say no, and that “no” is the joyful shout of a liberated heart.

You see, the world thinks hatred is a form of strength, but it is actually a crushing burden. You have felt its weight lift, so you know the difference. Continue to walk in the light and truth of Christ. That means letting His word expose any lingering shadows before they take root. Hatred is the seedbed of murder, as Jesus taught, and even the smallest animosity violates the law of love. When those old feelings try to resurface, don’t entertain them; bring them immediately to the light. You have not received a spirit of bondage again to fear, but the Spirit of adoption by whom you cry out, “Abba, Father.” A beloved child does not need to cling to hate to feel safe or significant.

I also urge you to be wise about how you exercise your newfound freedom. There are things that are lawful, not sinful in themselves, but if they connect you back to the old associations that fed the hatred, they can subtly bring you under their power again. The apostle Paul said, “All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.” He loved his freedom too much to risk it. Take stock of what you allow into your mind and into your relationships. If something you are free to do might lead you toward the very bondage Christ broke, then use your freedom not to do it. That is not legalism; it is the wisdom of a free person who refuses to become a slave again.

Continue to pray as you have been, asking the Lord to complete the deliverance from everything connected to that old affliction. He is faithful, and He will do it. When you feel oppressed by the enemy’s whispers that nothing has changed, cry out like David, “Send out Your light and Your truth; let them lead me.” God’s truth will never steer you back into chains. The path of real liberty is narrow, but it is filled with peace. You are already tasting that peace, because the hatred that once bowed your soul down has lost its grip. Arise into the mercy that has redeemed you, and walk as the free person you are becoming in Christ.
