We hear your cry for deliverance and rejoice with you that the Lord Jesus has already begun a mighty work in your life, breaking the chains of hatred that once bound you. Your prayer stands on the powerful promise of John 8:36, "If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed." This is not just a hope, it is a reality for those who are in Christ. We stand with you in agreement, declaring that every lingering root of bitterness, unforgiveness, or resentment connected to the past must be uprooted by the power of the Holy Spirit.
The Bible warns us in Hebrews 12:15, "Looking carefully lest there be any man who falls short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and many be defiled by it." Hatred is a heavy burden, but Christ has already carried it to the cross. We rebuke every spirit of anger, retaliation, or unforgiveness that may still linger in your heart. The enemy would love to keep you in bondage to these emotions, but we declare that you are a new creation in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17), and the old has passed away. You are not defined by what was done to you, but by the love and freedom found in Jesus.
We also encourage you to actively walk in forgiveness, as Colossians 3:13 instructs: "Bear with one another, and forgive each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do." Forgiveness is not a feeling, it is a choice, a command, and a key to your freedom. If there are specific individuals tied to this hatred, we urge you to release them to God, trusting Him to be the righteous Judge (Romans 12:19). Your healing is not dependent on their repentance but on your obedience to Christ.
Let us pray together:
"Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who broke the power of sin and death. We thank You for the freedom already won for [this child of Yours] at the cross. Lord, we declare that every chain of hatred, bitterness, and unforgiveness connected to [the past] is broken now by the blood of Jesus. We rebuke every lying spirit that would try to convince [them] that [they are] still bound. Your Word says in Isaiah 61:1, 'The Lord has anointed me to preach good news to the humble. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and release to those who are bound.' We claim this promise over [their] life today.
Father, fill [them] with Your perfect love, which casts out all fear (1 John 4:18). Where there has been hatred, let Your love abound. Where there has been pain, let Your healing flow. Where there has been unforgiveness, let Your grace empower [them] to forgive as [they have] been forgiven. We ask that You would restore [their] soul and lead [them] in paths of righteousness for Your name’s sake (Psalm 23:3).
Lord, we also ask that You would reveal any areas where [they] may still be holding onto resentment or bitterness. Give [them] the strength to release it all to You. Surround [them] with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and let Your joy be [their] strength (Nehemiah 8:10). We declare that [they are] free indeed, and we stand in agreement with [them] for complete deliverance and wholeness in every area of [their] life.
In the precious and powerful name of Jesus, we pray. Amen."
Continue to stand on God’s Word, beloved. Meditate on Scriptures that speak of your freedom, such as Galatians 5:1, "Stand firm therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and don’t be entangled again with a yoke of bondage." The enemy will try to remind you of the past, but you must remind him of his future (Revelation 20:10). You are not a victim, you are a victor in Christ Jesus!
If there are practical steps the Lord is leading you to take, such as seeking godly counsel or renewing your mind with Scripture, do not hesitate to obey. The journey to complete freedom is often a process, but God is faithful to complete the good work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6). Walk in the light of His truth, and do not let the darkness of hatred have any place in your life. You are called to love, even as Christ loved you (John 13:34-35). This is your new identity in Him.
