Deliverance Prayer

Disciple of Prayer
Lord Jesus,

I praise you, and thank you. I glorify you. Lord Jesus I ask that you save ### and rebuke all his atheist demons, standing on Zechariah 3:2. Lord Jesus give him clarity and set him free of everything that is hindering his faith from coming into his life, standing on John 8:36. I cover this prayer with the precious blood of Jesus, standing on Revelations 12:11. In Jesus name I pray and ask. Amen.

We join you in lifting up this soul before the Lord, standing in agreement that salvation belongs to our God, and He alone is mighty to save. You have rightly come before the throne of grace in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father, and there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. We praise you for your boldness in intercession, covering this request with the blood of Jesus, which is our greatest weapon against the schemes of the enemy.

The heart behind this prayer is clear—you long to see this individual delivered from the bondage of unbelief and the demonic influences that blind him to the truth of Christ. The Scriptures you stand upon are powerful and appropriate for this battle. As you have referenced Zechariah 3:2, we declare with you that the Lord rebuke Satan and his forces that seek to keep this man in darkness. The Lord has chosen Jerusalem—His people—and this includes those He is calling out of the world’s lies. Let us remind ourselves of the full verse: *"Yahweh said to Satan, 'Yahweh rebuke you, Satan! Yes, Yahweh who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Isn’t this a burning stick plucked out of the fire?'"* Just as Joshua the high priest was plucked from the fire of accusation and clothed in clean garments, so too can this man be rescued from the flames of unbelief and dressed in the righteousness of Christ.

You also stand on John 8:36, which proclaims, *"If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed."* This is our confidence—that the truth of Jesus Christ is the only power that can break the chains of atheism, humanism, and every stronghold that exalts itself against the knowledge of God. We pray that the Lord would open his eyes to see the futility of trusting in his own reasoning or in the empty philosophies of this world. Let him encounter the living God in a way that shatters his resistance, just as Saul of Tarsus was struck down on the road to Damascus. May the Holy Spirit convict him of sin, righteousness, and judgment, drawing him irresistibly to the foot of the cross.

You have also covered this prayer with the blood of Jesus, referencing Revelation 12:11: *"They overcame him because of the Lamb’s blood, and because of the word of their testimony. They didn’t love their life, even to death."* This is our victory—that the blood of Jesus speaks a better word than the accusations of the enemy. We plead the blood over this man’s mind, heart, and spirit, that every lie would be exposed and every demonic assignment would be rendered powerless. Let the testimony of Christ’s resurrection be the sword that pierces his unbelief.

Yet as we pray, we must also examine our own hearts. Do we trust in the sovereignty of God to save, or are we leaning on our own efforts to convince or argue this man into the Kingdom? Our weapons are not carnal but mighty in God for the pulling down of strongholds. Let us not forget that salvation is the Lord’s work, and our role is to intercede, to speak the truth in love, and to live in such a way that our lives reflect the transformative power of the Gospel. If this man has heard the Gospel and rejected it, we must pray that the Lord would send laborers into his life who will speak with wisdom and grace, planting and watering the seed of the Word until the day it takes root.

We also encourage you to continue standing in the gap for this soul, but to do so with a heart of humility and brokenness. It is easy to focus on the "atheist demons" and forget that we, too, were once enemies of God, dead in our trespasses, until His mercy found us. Let us never approach intercession with a spirit of condemnation, but with the love of Christ, who died for sinners while we were still His enemies. Pray that the Lord would give you a burden of compassion for this man, seeing him as Jesus does—a lost sheep in need of the Good Shepherd.

Finally, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this man who is bound by the lies of atheism and the blindness of unbelief. Lord, You are not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. We ask that You would break the power of the enemy over his life, just as You rebuked Satan in the presence of Joshua the high priest. Pluck him from the fire, O Lord, and clothe him in the righteousness of Christ. Let the light of Your Gospel shine into the darkness of his heart, exposing every lie and revealing the truth of Your love and sovereignty.

Father, we plead the blood of Jesus over his mind, that every argument and proud thought that exalts itself against the knowledge of God would be torn down. Soften his heart to receive Your Word, and send laborers into his life who will speak Your truth with boldness and love. Let him encounter You in a way he cannot deny, just as You revealed Yourself to Paul on the road to Damascus. Break the chains of sin and unbelief, and set him free indeed by the power of Your Son.

We also ask that You would guard the heart of Your intercessor, filling them with Your love and compassion for this lost soul. Remind them that it is Your kindness that leads to repentance, and may they reflect Your heart in their prayers and interactions. Give them wisdom to know when to speak, when to be silent, and when to simply trust in Your timing.

Lord, we declare that no weapon formed against this man’s salvation will prosper, and every tongue that rises against him in judgment will be condemned. The battle is Yours, and we trust in Your victory. Bring him to the foot of the cross, where he may surrender his life to You and find true freedom in Christ Jesus.

We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.

As you've prayed, we're reminded of the power in unity. Just as Jesus sent His disciples out two by two (Mark 6:7), let's stand together in faith, believing that what's impossible with man is possible with God (Matthew 19:26). Let's encourage one another, share testimonies, and keep this man before the throne of grace.

We also want to pray for those around this man, that God would raise up laborers into his life (Matthew 9:38). Let's ask God to send people who will speak the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15), plant and water the seed of the Word (1 Corinthians 3:6), and be a reflection of Christ's love and compassion.

Let's continue to stand in the gap, but with a heart of humility and brokenness. Let's remember that we too were once lost, and it's only by God's grace that we've been found. Let's approach intercession with the love of Christ, who died for us while we were still His enemies (Romans 5:8).

Finally, let's pray together:
