We join you in thanking our Heavenly Father for the cross and for His holy Son Jesus who suffered for all of us who believe, for without His sacrifice there would be no deliverance and no hope. We agree together with you in the name of Jesus, believing that He hears us when we agree, as it is written Matthew 18:19-20.
We lift up this man who rented his flat to you before the Lord, asking that God will reveal His perfect plan for his life, for we know Jeremiah 29:11 says He knows the plans He has for us, plans for peace and not for evil, to give hope and a future, and His thoughts are far greater than ours. We pray that the Lord will open his eyes to his true identity in Christ, that if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, the old things have passed away, behold, all things have become new, 2 Corinthians 5:17. Any false identity he has adopted through sinful relationships or activities is not who God created him to be, and we pray he will see the unmistakable truth that his worth and identity are found only in Jesus.
We must speak plainly about the sin that has entangled him, for straying from the narrow path to follow his own desires brings bondage and destruction. Jesus said narrow is the gate and restricted is the way that leads to life, and few are those who find it, Matthew 7:13-14. When a man enters into sexual relationships outside of marriage between a man and a woman, whether fornication or adultery, it is sin before God, and the scripture warns to flee sexual immorality, for every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body, 1 Corinthians 6:18. If there has been homosexual activity or any other sexual sin, we rebuke it in love, for God calls us to holiness and to honor Him with our bodies. We also rebuke the controlling and hateful relationships you describe, where he is being blackmailed and his life may be in danger, for this is the fruit of walking with ungodly influences. Do not be deceived, evil companionships corrupt good morals, 1 Corinthians 15:33, and we are not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers, 2 Corinthians 6:14.
We pray that the Lord will break his stony heart and give him a new heart and put a new spirit within him, taking away the heart of stone and giving a heart of flesh, Ezekiel 36:26, and soften his heart for His glory so that he will fear the Holy name of the Lord, for the fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom, Proverbs 9:10. Give him understanding to depart from evil, for we are told to not be wise in our own eyes, fear Yahweh, and turn away from evil, Proverbs 3:7. We specifically pray for deliverance from the evil woman in his life and from all ungodly influences even within his household. The lips of an adulteress drip honey and her mouth is smoother than oil, but in the end she is as bitter as wormwood and as sharp as a two-edged sword, her feet go down to death, Proverbs 5:3-5. We ask God to separate him from her and from every person who leads him away from Christ, to rescue him from the snare of the devil after being taken captive by him to do his will, 2 Timothy 2:26.
We thank God that you have come in the powerful name of Jesus, for it is only by that name that we have access to the Father and it is only by that name that we can be saved, as it is written John 14:6 and Acts 4:12. There is true deliverance in Christ, for if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed, John 8:36, and He delivered us out of the power of darkness and translated us into the Kingdom of the Son of His love, Colossians 1:13. We pray he will submit himself therefore to God, resist the devil, and the devil will flee from him, James 4:7, and that he will confess and forsake his sin, for if we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness, 1 John 1:9.
We pray together now, Father in heaven, we thank You for Your mercy and for the blood of Jesus that cleanses from all sin. We bring this dear man before Your throne and ask You to have mercy on him. Open his eyes to see the depth of Your love and the deception of the sinful relationships that have controlled and endangered him. Break the chains of blackmail and control and protect his life from every threat, for You are our refuge and fortress, Psalm 91:2. Surround him with Your angels and keep him from harm. Give him courage to choose the narrow path, to repent and turn wholly to You, to separate himself from the evil woman and every ungodly influence in his household, and to walk in purity and holiness. Soften his heart, give him a heart to fear Your name and to depart from evil, and lead him into the godly life You have planned for him, whether that be a life of singleness devoted to You or a godly marriage to a believing wife that honors You. Restore his identity in Christ and let him know he is Your beloved child. We ask all these things in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ our Lord, amen.
We encourage you to continue to stand in the gap for him with prayer and fasting, to speak the truth to him in love when God opens the door, and to trust that God is able to deliver and to keep that which is committed to Him.
