Deliverance prayer for the former ###

Kensem

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, we thank you for the cross and for the fact that your holy Son, Jesus, suffered for all of us who believe. We praise your holy name. Lord, you know the plans you have for us, and your thoughts are far greater than ours. We come to you together in the name of Jesus, believing that you hear our prayers when we agree. Lord, you know this man who rented his flat to me, and he is also your child. Lord, help him to hear your voice concerning your holy plan for his life. Help him to see the clear, unmistakable truth about his identity in Christ. Open his eyes to the false identity he adopted when he entered into sinful relationships or activities and strayed from your narrow path and followed his own desires. Lord break his stony heart and give him courage to follow the narrow path and soften his heart for your glory. I also pray that you will separate him from ungodly influences, including those in his household, and that he will recognise the depth of your love, as well as the sinful and hateful relationships he has entered into, in which he is controlled, blackmailed, and where his life may be in danger. Give him understanding to fear your Holy name. Lord, give him understanding to depart from evil and the evil woman in his life. In Jesus' powerful name we ask these things, amen.

We join with you in prayer for this man and we thank God for your heart of intercession for him and for your faith in the power of the cross. We agree with you that our Heavenly Father hears us when we come together in the name of Jesus, for Jesus said, Again, assuredly I tell you, that if two of you will agree on earth concerning anything that they will ask, it will be done for them by my Father who is in heaven Matthew 18:19, and we praise God that Jesus suffered for all who believe so that we might have forgiveness and deliverance and new life.

We see your burden for this man who rented his flat to you and we take seriously what you have shared about him straying from the narrow path, adopting a false identity through sinful relationships and activities, and now being entangled with ungodly influences in his household and with an evil woman who controls and blackmails him and may even put his life in danger. We stand with you that God has a holy plan for his life, for we know that I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future Jeremiah 29:11, and that God desires all to come to repentance and to walk in truth.

We must speak clearly about the sin you have described, because God calls us to depart from evil and to live holy lives. Scripture warns us to Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body 1 Corinthians 6:18, and to not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship has righteousness with iniquity, or what communion has light with darkness 2 Corinthians 6:14. The relationships you describe that are outside of God's design for marriage between a man and a woman, and any fornication or adultery involved, are sin before a holy God and they bring bondage and destruction. The Bible also warns concerning the immoral woman, for her house is the way to Sheol, going down to the rooms of death Proverbs 7:27, and Do not be deceived. Evil companionships corrupt good morals 1 Corinthians 15:33. We pray that he will see this truth and repent, for If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9.

We also pray for his deliverance and protection, for we know our struggle is not against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces, and we are called to Be subject therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you James 4:7, and If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed John 8:36. We pray that God will soften his heart as He promised, I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh Ezekiel 36:26, and that he will learn the fear of the Lord which is the beginning of wisdom Proverbs 9:10, so that he will have understanding to depart from evil and to choose the narrow way, for Narrow is the gate, and restricted is the way that leads to life. Few are those who find it Matthew 7:14.

So together we pray, Heavenly Father, we thank You for the cross and for Your holy Son Jesus who suffered for us. We lift up this man to You, Your child who has lost his way. Lord, open his eyes to his true identity in Christ, that if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new 2 Corinthians 5:17. Break his stony heart and give him courage to follow Your narrow path and to hear Your voice above all other voices. Lord, separate him from every ungodly influence, including those in his household, and deliver him from the sinful and hateful relationships where he is controlled and blackmailed. Expose the darkness, bring it to light, and keep him safe from harm, for The angel of Yahweh encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them Psalm 34:7, and The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles Psalm 34:17. Give him a holy fear of Your name and a deep understanding of Your love, that he may repent and depart from evil and from the evil woman in his life, and walk in purity and freedom for Your glory. We ask that You set him completely free and restore him to walk as a man of God, seeking You first and honoring You in all his relationships, looking toward a godly marriage if it is Your will, rather than sinful entanglements. We ask all these things in the powerful and only name by which we are saved, Jesus Christ our Lord, amen.

We encourage you to continue to stand in the gap for him with steadfast prayer and to speak the truth in love if God gives you opportunity, trusting that God is able to deliver and to transform any life that turns to Him.

Thank you for bringing this man before the Lord with such care and persistence. We hear your concern for him, not only for his safety where you feel he is being controlled and pressured, but for his heart to know who he truly is in Christ and to have courage to walk a different way.

We join you in praying for that clarity of identity. When a person has lived for a while following their own desires or the influence of others, it can be hard to remember that their deepest identity is as one made and loved by God. Part of healing is coming to see themselves through that lens again, as someone God cares for and wants to shape in character, more than through any roles or relationships that have defined them.

You cannot make those choices for him, and it is a heavy burden to carry. A steady next step is to keep your own boundaries clear and kind. Continue to pray as you are, and if he is open to help, gently encourage him toward a mature, trusted pastor who can walk with him personally and with wisdom. You do not have to be the one to separate him from influences or to sort out what is happening in his household.

Father, we lift this man to You. You know him and You know the pressures around him. Keep him safe, soften his heart toward You, and give him eyes to see Your love and wisdom to step away from what harms him. Give our friend peace as they pray, and guide them to know how best to care from a distance. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your prayer for this man is heard with thankfulness, and we join you in it before the throne of grace. It is right to love a neighbor enough to plead for his soul, and to ask not that God would leave him where he is, but that God would deliver him.

We take your petition and turn it to that great word which God Himself speaks, Deliver him from going down to the Pit, I have found a ransom. In all that God does He acts from good reasons, and His reason for mercy is not found in us but in Christ. Not to forms or feelings must this man look, but to what Christ has done. When sin is punished upon the great Substitute, it is put away forever from all those who will only trust Him. That is what looking to Christ means, trusting in His one great sacrifice. There is no deliverance from guilt and no deliverance from power except through Him.

For we are told, He has delivered us from the power of darkness. At first sin catches a man in its net with what seems like tiny cobwebs that can scarcely be seen, and he thinks he can break free in a moment, but soon he finds he sleeps in the dark and cannot awaken himself. Deliverance from the power of sin is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin. We must look to our heavenly Father altogether and alone for both. This is our hope for the one you name. He cannot free himself from a false identity, from controlling and hateful entanglements, from the household influences that bind him, from fear or blackmail or danger. But Christ loosens prisoners. He who kept him beneath his power is mighty, but mightier is He who conquered for the deliverance of His people.

We pray therefore not that God would bless or confirm any way that departs from His narrow path, for we know that marriage is the lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and that all sexual intimacy and living together belong within it, and that our true identity is not found in our desires or in the relationships we have chosen, but in Christ alone. We pray instead for that true repentance which is inseparable from faith. Any repentance that keeps a man from believing in Christ is a repentance that needs to be repented of. There is a false repentance which springs only from terror, which appears in a night and withers in a night, which is skin deep and does not go to the heart. What God gives is different. It is a daily and hourly turning that looks out of self to Christ and to Christ only, that rejoices in Jesus crucified, trusts Him, and leaps for joy that God has set Him forth to be a propitiation for sin.

So we pray with you in the name of Jesus:

Heavenly Father, be gracious unto this man and say, Deliver him from going down to the Pit, for Thou hast found a ransom in the blood of Thy Son. Open his ears and seal his instruction, withdraw him from his purpose and hide pride from him. Break his stony heart and give him a heart of flesh, give him courage to follow the narrow path and to fear Thy holy name. Show him clearly who he is in Christ, and the vanity of every false identity he has adopted in straying after his own desires. Grant him godly sorrow that leads to faith, that he may look to Christ and live. Separate him from ungodly influences, even those in his own household, and from every evil entanglement, and especially from the sinful relationship that now controls and endangers him. Bring him into the light, that he may know he is saved and rejoice in Jesus Christ. Keep him in safety according to Thy wisdom, for Thou art a careful dispenser who will not pour out a drop too little or too much, and every trial Thou dost permit works for good to Thy people. Lead him to depart from evil and to walk in holiness, for Thy glory.

We encourage you to continue in believing prayer, not seeking comfort apart from Calvary, but pointing this man always to Christ Himself. There is no balm in Gilead apart from the cross. Press him gently and prayerfully to Christ, that he may put his case by a distinct and personal act into the hands of Jesus to save him. The Lord scourges His children but He does not slay them, and when a believer is in trouble he derives great comfort from reliance upon the compassion of God.

May the Lord grant you peace as you intercede, and may He be pleased in great grace to deliver this soul and establish him in the liberty wherewith Christ makes free. Amen.
