Deliverance prayer for the former ###

Kensem

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, we thank you for the cross and for the fact that your holy Son, Jesus, suffered for all of us who believe. We praise your holy name. Lord, you know the plans you have for us, and your thoughts are far greater than ours. We come to you together in the name of Jesus, believing that you hear our prayers when we agree. Lord, you know this man who rented his flat to me, and he is also your child. Lord, help him to hear your voice concerning your holy plan for his life. Help him to see the clear, unmistakable truth about his identity in Christ. Open his eyes to the false identity he adopted when he entered into sinful relationships or activities and strayed from your narrow path and followed his own desires. Lord break his stony heart and give him courage to follow the narrow path and soften his heart for your glory. I also pray that you will separate him from ungodly influences, including those in his household, and that he will recognise the depth of your love, as well as the sinful and hateful relationships he has entered into, in which he is controlled, blackmailed, and where his life may be in danger. Give him understanding to fear your Holy name. Lord, give him understanding to depart from evil and the evil woman in his life. In Jesus' powerful name we ask these things, amen.

We join you together in the name of Jesus and we thank you for bringing this man before the throne of grace with such burden and love. We agree with you that it is only through the cross of our holy Son Jesus that we have forgiveness and access to the Father, and we praise God that you have come in that precious name, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.

We hear your heart for this man who rented his flat to you, and we stand with you for his deliverance. We know that God loves him deeply and desires that he walk in truth and not in a false identity. The Word tells us Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new 2 Corinthians 5:17. When a person enters into sinful relationships or activities outside of God's design, he takes on an identity that God never gave him, and that false identity brings confusion, bondage and sorrow. We rebuke all sexual immorality in his life, for the Scripture is clear that we are to Flee sexual immorality 1 Corinthians 6:18 and that marriage is to be held in honor between a man and a woman, and any intimacy outside of that covenant, whether fornication, adultery, or homosexuality, is sin before a holy God. We also hear your concern about the evil woman in his life and we take seriously the warning that the lips of an adulteress drip honey and her mouth is smoother than oil, but in the end she is as bitter as wormwood Proverbs 5:3-4. We pray that God will open his eyes to see that where there is control, blackmail and fear for his life, there is not love but the snare of the enemy.

We pray together for him now.

Heavenly Father, we come before you in the mighty name of Jesus and we lift up this dear man to you. You know his name, his dwelling, and every detail of his life. You know the plans you have for him, plans for peace and not for evil, to give him hope and a future Jeremiah 29:11, and your thoughts are far higher than our thoughts Isaiah 55:9. Lord, we ask that you break through the hardness of his heart. We ask that you will give him a new heart, and put a new spirit within him, that you will take away the stony heart out of his flesh and give him a heart of flesh Ezekiel 36:26. Soften his heart to hear your voice and give him courage to choose the narrow gate and the narrow way that leads to life Matthew 7:14, even when it is difficult.

Lord, deliver him from the evil one and from every ungodly influence, including those in his own household. We ask that you separate him from those who would keep him in darkness and that you surround him with godly counsel. Cause him to recognize the depth of your love and the deceitfulness of the sinful and hateful relationships that have controlled and blackmailed him. Let him understand that if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed John 8:36. We pray for his physical protection where his life may be in danger. You are his refuge and fortress Psalm 91:2, and we ask that you hide him under the shadow of your wings and frustrate every scheme of blackmail and control against him.

Father, teach him to fear your holy name, for the fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom Proverbs 9:10, and to depart from evil Proverbs 3:7. Help him to see clearly his true identity in Christ, as your beloved child, forgiven and cleansed if he will confess and turn from his sin, for you are faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9. We pray that he will submit himself therefore to God, resist the devil, and the devil will flee from him James 4:7. Let the one who has been taken captive by the devil to do his will come to his senses and escape that snare 2 Timothy 2:26.

We also pray for you who intercedes for him, that the Lord will strengthen you and keep you from discouragement as you stand in the gap. Continue to speak the truth in love and to pray without ceasing, trusting that God hears when we agree together Matthew 18:19. We thank you Father that you are mighty to save and mighty to deliver, and we trust this man into your merciful hands, asking that he will soon walk in freedom, purity and wholehearted obedience for your glory. In the powerful and matchless name of Jesus we pray, amen.

We are grateful you brought this man to the Lord with such compassion. It is a loving thing to intercede for someone who has been part of your life as a landlord, and to ask God to show him who he truly is and to draw him toward what is good and safe.

We hear your concern for his identity and for the influences around him, including a relationship that you sense is controlling and even dangerous for him. Part of healing is coming to see ourselves as God sees us, as His beloved children, and learning to live before Him rather than before the voices and pressures around us. That kind of renewal takes time and is the Holy Spirit's gentle work in a person's heart.

We cannot make those choices for him, and we cannot separate him from others ourselves. What we can do is keep praying and keep our own role clear and healthy. It may help to talk quietly with a trusted pastor about how to pray wisely for him and how to care without becoming entangled in a situation that sounds complex and painful.

Father, we lift this man to You. You know him and love him. We ask You to protect him, to soften his heart toward You, to help him hear Your voice and recognize Your love, and to give him courage and wisdom to step away from what harms him. Give our friend peace as he continues to pray and guidance for how to love well from a proper distance. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your prayer has been laid before the Lord and it is good that you bring this man before the throne of grace, for our God is able to deal in love with souls when the soil slips from under their feet and they are ready to dash into that Pit that is bottomless. He can come in, even then, and rescue them to the praise of the glory of His grace.

We join you in asking that the Lord will deliver him from going down to the Pit. This deliverance is not by forms or ceremonies, or by works or feelings, but by looking to Christ. As the word was once spoken to my own soul, Look unto Me and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth, for I am God and there is none else, so we pray that this man may look out of himself and away from himself and look to what Christ has done. That is what looking to Christ means, trusting in His one great Sacrifice, sin punished upon the great Substitute and put away forever from all those who will only trust Him. There is no other way of salvation, for there is none other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved, but Jesus Christ alone.

We pray also that God will deliver him from the power of darkness. Satan is the prince of the power of the air, and to escape from him is a work only God can do, yet the scripture declares, He hath delivered us from the power of darkness. We ask the Lord to teach this man the mischief that comes from loving the world and the things thereof, and from following his own desires upon the broad way. The identity he has sought in sinful relationships and activities is a false one, for a man finds his true identity only when he becomes a new creature in Christ Jesus. We do not ask God to bless any way that runs contrary to His holy will, for marriage is ordained as the lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and all intimacy outside of it is sin before Him. We ask instead that God will grant repentance and a turning away, that He will open the ears of this man and seal his instruction, that He may withdraw man from his purpose and hide pride from man, and break the stony heart and give a heart of flesh.

Therefore we pray thus. Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus who suffered upon the cross for sinners, have mercy upon this man. Open his eyes to see the clear truth of who he is before Thee and who he may become in Christ. Soften his heart that he may fear Thy holy name and depart from evil. Give him courage to follow the narrow path that leadeth unto life. Separate him from ungodly influences, even those in his own household, and from that evil company where he is controlled and in danger. Rescue him from every hateful and sinful entanglement that holds him fast. Let him hear Thy voice and live, and declare the works of the Lord. We ask that he may not die in his sin but live, by looking and living through faith in Thy Son. Grant this for Thy glory, that he may be loosed from his infirmity and go forth in joyful liberty to serve Thee. Amen.

Continue to pray and to speak plainly the gospel to him, for it is the truth taken by the Holy Spirit and laid home to the heart that saves. When faith is in full operation, be open and bold to declare what the Lord has done, trusting that He who has begun a good work is able to keep it to the end.
