Deliverance prayer for the former ###

Kensem

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, we thank you for the cross and for the fact that your holy Son, Jesus, suffered for all of us who believe. We praise your holy name. Lord, you know the plans you have for us, and your thoughts are far greater than ours. We come to you together in the name of Jesus, believing that you hear our prayers when we agree. Lord, you know this man who rented his flat to me, and he is also your child. Lord, help him to hear your voice concerning your holy plan for his life. Help him to see the clear, unmistakable truth about his identity in Christ. Open his eyes to the false identity he adopted when he entered into sinful relationships or activities and strayed from your narrow path and followed his own desires. Lord break his stony heart and give him courage to follow the narrow path and soften his heart for your glory. I also pray that you will separate him from ungodly influences, including those in his household, and that he will recognise the depth of your love, as well as the sinful and hateful relationships he has entered into, in which he is controlled, blackmailed, and where his life may be in danger. Give him understanding to fear your Holy name. Lord, give him understanding to depart from evil and the evil woman in his life. In Jesus' powerful name we ask these things, amen.

We join you in lifting up this man before the throne of grace and we thank you for praying in the powerful name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we can be saved as it is written in Acts 4:12 and John 14:6. We agree with you concerning the cross and the suffering of our holy Son Jesus for all who believe, and we praise God that you have come together in agreement, for Jesus said in Matthew 18:19 that if two of us agree on earth concerning anything that we ask, it will be done for us by our Father in heaven.

We are burdened with you for this man who rented his flat to you and we see the spiritual battle clearly described in your request. You have rightly discerned that he has adopted a false identity through sinful relationships and activities and has strayed from the narrow path to follow his own desires. Scripture warns us that the heart is deceitful and that following our own desires leads to destruction, but God promises to give a new heart. As it is written in Ezekiel 36:26, I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh. And in 2 Corinthians 5:17, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new. We pray that he will see his true identity in Christ and turn from the lie he has believed about himself.

We must also speak plainly about the sinful relationships you mentioned. If this man is involved in sexual immorality outside of marriage, whether fornication if he is unmarried or adultery if he is married, God calls this sin and calls him to repent and flee from it. As it is written in 1 Corinthians 6:18, flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. And in Hebrews 13:4, let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers. The relationship with the evil woman you describe, where he is controlled and blackmailed and his life may be in danger, is not love but bondage and the fruit of ungodly influences. Proverbs 5:3-5 warns that the lips of an adulteress drip honey, but in the end she is as bitter as wormwood. We rebuke this fornication and this ungodly yoke and we pray he will depart from evil as you have asked. God’s will for a man and a woman is not to live as partners in sin but to pursue courtship with another Christian believer with the goal of lifelong marriage between one man and one woman as God designed in Genesis 2:24, and any relationship outside of that design must be forsaken.

We also pray for his deliverance from ungodly influences even within his household, for bad company corrupts good morals in 1 Corinthians 15:33 and we are commanded in 2 Corinthians 6:14 not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers. We pray that the Lord will separate him from those who draw him into darkness and surround him with godly counsel instead. Where there is control, blackmail and danger, we pray for God’s protection and for wisdom to seek safety, for the Lord is our refuge and fortress in Psalm 91:2 and He hears the cry of those who fear Him in Psalm 34:17.

We pray together now for him. Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your mercy and for the cross of Jesus. We lift this man to You and ask that You open his eyes to see the depth of Your love and the deception of the enemy. Soften his stony heart and give him a heart of flesh that fears Your holy name, for the fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom in Proverbs 9:10. Give him courage to humble himself, to confess his sin and to receive forgiveness, for in 1 John 1:9 You promise that if we confess our sins, You are faithful and righteous to forgive us. Break every chain of sexual immorality and ungodly soul ties and deliver him from the evil woman and every controlling influence in his life. Help him to submit himself to God and resist the devil so that the devil will flee from him in James 4:7, and let him know the freedom that comes when the Son makes us free in John 8:36. Transform him by the renewing of his mind in Romans 12:2 so that he may discern Your good and perfect will for his life and walk on the narrow path that leads to life. Guard his life from danger, separate him from evil, and lead him into a life of holiness, and if it is Your will, prepare him for a godly marriage that honors You. We ask all these things in the mighty and saving name of Jesus, amen.

We encourage you to continue to intercede for him with love and truth, to speak the gospel to him when God opens the door, and to maintain clear and godly boundaries in the landlord relationship while trusting that God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think.

We heard the love and burden in your prayer for this man. You are asking God to open his eyes to who he is in Christ, to soften his heart and to bring him to safety away from control and harm, and we join you in that.

It is heavy to care for someone who seems trapped and unable to see clearly. We cannot make his choices for him, and it helps to hold both compassion and clear boundaries. Continuing to pray, while leaving the work of conviction and change to the Holy Spirit, protects your own heart and respects his responsibility before God. If you have ongoing contact, keeping communication calm, brief and safe, and leaning on a trusted pastor or counselor for wisdom about how to help without putting yourself at risk, can be a steady next step.

Father, we bring this man before you and ask for your protection over his life, for clarity where there is confusion, and for courage to step away from what harms him. Give him eyes to see your love and a path forward. Give our friend wisdom, peace and safe community as he continues to pray. In Jesus name, amen.

Your prayer has been laid before the Lord and it is good that you have brought this man before the throne of grace, pleading not upon any merit of your own but upon the cross where the holy Son of God suffered for all who believe. We join with you in this, for we know that God hears when His people agree together in the name of Jesus.

There is a pit into which sin casts a man, and often while we have time for quiet meditation a great depression of spirit comes upon us because we feel that sin, sin, SIN has outlawed us from our God. Well do some of us remember when we walked in the darkness of our sin. At first when sin catches us in its net it is with the tiniest spider's cobwebs that can scarcely be seen, and they seem as though you could break from them in a moment, but they sin until their sin engenders a second nature. This is the power of darkness from which no man can deliver himself. Deliverance from the power of sin is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin, and we must look to our heavenly Father altogether and alone for it.

We do not ask the Lord to bless what He calls sin, for He never came to save us in our sins but to save us from our sins, and wherever He takes away the guilt of sin He also kills the love of it. Marriage is His own ordinance, a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and all that belongs to it is to be kept within that covenant. Any other path, whether it be fornication, adultery, or any union contrary to His design, is a straying from the narrow way, and we pray not that God would prosper a man in it but that He would pluck him out of it.

Therefore we pray with you after this manner. O Lord, deliver him from going down to the Pit. Let him not look to forms and ceremonies, or works, or feelings, but look to what Christ has done. May he in this hour look and live, trusting in His One Great Sacrifice, believing that the dying Christ can blot out all that mass of sin, for He was made sin for us who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him. Open his eyes, we beseech You, that he may see his true identity is not in the false name sin has given him, but in Christ alone. Break his stony heart and give him a heart of flesh, and give him courage to follow the narrow path.

We ask also that You would withdraw him from his purpose and hide pride from him, and seal instruction upon his ear, that he may hate sin as sin and not merely hate its bitter consequences. Keep him from a transient repentance which lasts only while the smart of sin is felt and then returns with greater gusto to the banquet. Give him that godly repentance which rejoices in Jesus crucified and trusts wholly in His precious blood. Separate him, Lord, from ungodly influences, even those in his own household, and from the evil company by which he is controlled and entangled. If his life is indeed in danger, we pray Your preserving hand over him, yet most of all that You would give him understanding to fear Your holy name and to depart from evil.

When a believer is in trouble he derives great comfort from reliance upon the compassion of God, for the Lord scourges His children but He does not slay them. May this man know that compassion, that even now sitting upon the dunghill of his sin, if he will but trust in Jesus he shall be lifted up to dwell among the princes of the blood royal. There is power to save in God when He becomes Man to bleed and die.

We leave him with you, our Father, believing that He who has delivered us from the power of darkness is able to deliver him also, and that what He has begun He will perfect for His glory. In the powerful name of Jesus we ask it, amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We thank God that you have brought this burden before Him, and we join you in prayer in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have salvation and access to the Father.

We hear your love for this man and your desire to see him delivered from what harms him. We agree with you to ask the Lord to have mercy upon him, to break what is hard in his heart and to grant him the gift of true repentance. Scripture teaches us that repentance has great force and is able to set free from the burden of sins even one who has gone to the depth of wickedness, if he will lay hold upon it. Though a person may fall, he may yet rise again and turn back to God, that Christ may be formed in him anew.

We pray that God will show him the two great gifts of the Incarnation, deliverance from evil and supply of good, that he might be delivered from the curse of sin and be brought into sonship. This comes not from clinging to any earthly relationship or to ideas about his own identity, but by putting on Christ and receiving the Spirit of adoption, so that he may know who he truly is as a child of God. We ask that the Lord will draw him away from vain imaginations and from trusting in fleshly ties, that he may rest his hope not in those ties but in faith and continence and a humble turning to Christ.

We do not ask God to bless what is sinful or to confirm him in any false way of living, for sinful pleasures bring shame and uneasiness and keep the soul in bondage, while the true joy of the Lord leaves the soul free and at peace. Instead we pray that he will come to condemn his own sin in the light of the cross, bring forth fruits worthy of repentance, and find that the narrow path is the path of life. We ask the Father to give him clarity to see where he has strayed by following his own desires, to give him courage to depart from evil, and to give him a holy fear of the Lord which is the beginning of wisdom.

We also pray for his protection. If he is entangled with ungodly influences and with relationships in which he is controlled or threatened, we ask the Lord to separate him from those influences and to place him where he can hear the voice of Christ clearly and be safe. Each of us will stand before the judgment seat of Christ and give account for ourselves, and so we pray that he will be awakened to that reality now, while there is time for amendment, and that the delay of judgment would become for him an opportunity for full deliverance.

We will continue to pray that the Lord softens his heart, opens his eyes to the depth of divine love shown at the cross, and leads him into a new life of purity, self control and hope as a son of God. May the Lord also strengthen you as you intercede, keeping you in prayer and in trust in His mercy.

In the name of Jesus we pray, amen.
