Deliverance prayer for the former ###

Kensem

Beloved of All
Father, we thank you for the cross and for the fact that your holy Son, Jesus, suffered for all of us who believe. We praise your holy name. Lord, you know the plans you have for us, and your thoughts are far greater than ours. We come to you together in the name of Jesus, believing that you hear our prayers when we agree. Lord, you know this man who rented his flat to me, and he is also your child. Lord, help him to hear your voice concerning your holy plan for his life. Help him to see the clear, unmistakable truth about his identity in Christ. Open his eyes to the false identity he adopted when he entered into sinful relationships or activities and strayed from your narrow path and followed his own desires. Lord break his stony heart and give him courage to follow the narrow path and soften his heart for your glory. I also pray that you will separate him from ungodly influences, including those in his household, and that he will recognise the depth of your love, as well as the sinful and hateful relationships he has entered into, in which he is controlled, blackmailed, and where his life may be in danger. Give him understanding to fear your Holy name. Lord, give him understanding to depart from evil and the evil woman in his life. In Jesus' powerful name we ask these things, amen.

We join with you in lifting up this man before the throne of grace and we thank you for your heart to intercede for him even after your renting relationship has ended. We agree together in the name of Jesus believing that the Father hears us when we agree, for Jesus said Again, assuredly I tell you, that if two of you will agree on earth concerning anything that they will ask, it will be done for them by my Father who is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the middle of them. Matthew 18:19-20.

We are encouraged by your understanding that his true identity can only be found in Christ and not in any false identity adopted through sin. The Word tells us Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17 and For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. Colossians 3:3. When a person strays from the narrow path and follows his own desires into sinful relationships, he builds his life on a lie. We must speak the truth in love that any sexual activity outside of marriage between one man and one woman is sin before God. Scripture is clear to Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. 1 Corinthians 6:18, and that marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the bed undefiled: but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers. Hebrews 13:4. This includes fornication, adultery, and homosexuality, which is forbidden and called an abomination before the Lord, for God created us male and female and ordained marriage as a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman. We also hear your burden that he is entangled with an evil woman and with ungodly influences in his household where he is controlled and even blackmailed and may be in danger. The Scriptures warn For the lips of an adulteress drip honey. Her mouth is smoother than oil, but in the end she is as bitter as wormwood, and as sharp as a two-edged sword. Her feet go down to death. Her steps lead straight to Sheol. Proverbs 5:3-5. We rebuke the darkness that has taken hold in these hateful and sinful relationships and we pray for his complete deliverance and repentance.

We pray together now for him.

Father, we thank You for the cross and for Your holy Son Jesus who suffered for all who believe, and we praise Your holy name. Lord, You know the plans You have for this man, for You have said For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11, and that Your thoughts and ways are far greater than ours. Isaiah 55:8-9. We ask You to open his eyes to the unmistakable truth about his identity in Christ and to expose the false identity he adopted when he entered into sin and strayed from Your narrow path, for narrow is the gate, and restricted is the way that leads to life. Few are those who find it. Matthew 7:14. Lord, break his stony heart and give him a new heart as You promised, I will also give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh. Ezekiel 36:26. Soften his heart and give him courage to depart from evil and to fear Your holy name, for The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom. The knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. Proverbs 9:10.

Father, we ask You to separate him from ungodly influences, including those in his household, for Blessed is the man who doesn’t walk in the counsel of the wicked. Psalm 1:1 and Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity. 2 Corinthians 6:14. Deliver him from the evil woman in his life and from every controlling and blackmailing relationship where his life may be in danger. Set him free, for If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed. John 8:36. Teach him to Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7. Surround him with Your protection, for The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Psalm 34:17. Help him to recognize the depth of Your love and to walk in repentance, believing that If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9.

We encourage you to continue to intercede for him while also guarding your own heart and keeping healthy boundaries, trusting that God is able to complete the work He has begun. Continue to pray that he will surrender fully to Jesus Christ, pursue holiness, and if it is God’s will for him to marry, that he would seek a godly marriage to a believing woman that honors God, rather than any sinful partnership. We stand with you believing for his deliverance, for his eyes to be opened, and for him to walk in freedom and truth on the narrow path for Your glory. In the powerful name of Jesus we pray, amen.

We appreciate the compassion behind your prayer for the man who once rented to you. It is a kind and faithful thing to keep bringing someone before the Lord after your practical connection has ended, and we are glad to stand with you in that.

We hear how deeply you want him to know who he is in Christ and to find freedom from the influences and relationships that seem to control and harm him. It is painful to watch someone seem stuck, especially when you sense fear or pressure around him. We can keep asking God to soften his heart and give him clear understanding, while remembering that real change and growth in Christ is usually a gradual process with ups and downs, not a single moment. Our part is to pray faithfully and trust God with the timing and the way He works.

A steady next step that may help you is to keep a simple, regular rhythm of prayer for him and to invite one mature, trusted believer or pastor to agree with you quietly, so you are not carrying this alone and you have wisdom for appropriate boundaries as a former tenant.

Father, we bring this man before You and ask for Your mercy over his life. Protect him, open his eyes to Your love, soften his heart, and give him courage and wisdom to step away from what harms him and to walk Your narrow path. Guide our friend who is praying, give peace and discernment in how to love well. In Jesus name, amen.

We join with you in this earnest supplication before the throne of grace, and we thank God that you have brought this burden to Him who hears prayer.

There is hope for the vilest sinner, for He can deal in love with men when the soil slips from under their feet and they are about to dash into that pit that is bottomless. He can come in, even then, and rescue them to the praise of the glory of His grace. We pray that this man, your former landlord, may hear that word which once came to my own soul, Deliver him from going down to the pit. For there is a ransom found in Christ Jesus.

We do not pray that God would bless any sinful path, or any union or practice which stands against His holy will. The way of life is narrow, and marriage is His ordinance, a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and all that pertains to the union of the sexes belongs only within it. All that lies outside that path is sin, and will bring sorrow. Our prayer therefore is not that God would affirm him in any false identity, but that He would open his eyes to see his true need and his true identity as a sinner who must be born again, and as a new creature in Christ if he will look to Christ and live.

We pray that God would open his ears and seal his instruction, that He may withdraw man from his purpose and hide pride from man. May the Lord break the stony heart and give a heart of flesh, not a repentance which springs alone from terror and withers in a night, but a deep and true repentance which gives God glory. For any repentance that keeps a man from believing in Christ is a repentance that needs to be repented of. True repentance and faith are inseparable. The one ejects sin as an evil tenant, the other admits Christ to be the sole Master of the heart.

We pray that he may be brought to look away from himself, away from forms and feelings and works, and to look unto Christ and be saved. For that is all he must do. Look to what Christ has done, to His one great sacrifice upon the cross where sin was punished upon the great Substitute and put away forever from all those who will only trust Him. Salvation is through Jesus Christ alone, for there is none other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved.

And we pray with you for his deliverance from the power of darkness. Satan is the prince of the power of the air, and to escape from him is a work only God can do. But we have felt in our own experience that He has delivered us from the power of darkness, from the fascinating power of sin and from the love of the world. May the Lord teach this man the mischief of loving the world and the things thereof, and may He effectually separate him from ungodly influences, even those in his own household, and from that evil company which now controls and endangers him. May He grant him to fear His holy name and to depart from evil, and to walk in the light as a child of light.

We ask the Lord to give him courage to follow the narrow path, to hear the voice of the Good Shepherd, and to declare, not in idle boast but in calm and true faith, I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord. May he be brought from death to life, and may his life henceforth show the marks of a child of God in his walk and conversation.

We will continue to plead for him, that looking and trusting, he may live and leap in joyful liberty, and that you also may be sustained as you pray and bear witness with love and truth. Let us look to our heavenly Father altogether and alone for this sanctification and deliverance, trusting that what He has begun He will carry on to the end.

In the powerful and prevailing name of Jesus Christ our only Saviour, Amen.
