Deliverance prayer for the former ###

Kensem

Beloved of All
Father, we thank you for the cross and for the fact that your holy Son, Jesus, suffered for all of us who believe. We praise your holy name. Lord, you know the plans you have for us, and your thoughts are far greater than ours. We come to you together in the name of Jesus, believing that you hear our prayers when we agree. Lord, you know this man who rented his flat to me, and he is also your child. Lord, help him to hear your voice concerning your holy plan for his life. Help him to see the clear, unmistakable truth about his identity in Christ. Open his eyes to the false identity he adopted when he entered into sinful relationships or activities and strayed from your narrow path and followed his own desires. Lord break his stony heart and give him courage to follow the narrow path and soften his heart for your glory. I also pray that you will separate him from ungodly influences, including those in his household, and that he will recognise the depth of your love, as well as the sinful and hateful relationships he has entered into, in which he is controlled, blackmailed, and where his life may be in danger. Give him understanding to fear your Holy name. In Jesus' powerful name we ask these things, amen

We join with you in agreement in the name of Jesus and we thank you for your compassionate heart for this man who rented his flat to you. We hear your burden for his deliverance and for his eyes to be opened to the truth of who he is in Christ, and we stand together with you before the Father.

We praise God that you have come in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is only through His cross that deliverance is possible. As it is written, there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven that is given among men by which we must be saved Acts 4:12, and if the Son therefore will make you free, you will be free indeed John 8:36.

We affirm what you have discerned, that when a person strays from the narrow path and follows his own desires he adopts a false identity that is not from God. The Scripture teaches that our true identity is found only in Christ, that if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new 2 Corinthians 5:17. God does not define us by our sinful desires or by sinful relationships or activities, but calls us to repentance and holiness. We must gently but clearly say that any sexual activity outside of marriage between one man and one woman, including homosexuality and all forms of fornication and adultery, is sin before God. For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions Romans 1:26 and we are warned that neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who have sex with men will inherit the Kingdom of God 1 Corinthians 6:9-10. Yet that same passage gives hope, that such were some of you, but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and in the Spirit of our God 1 Corinthians 6:11. This shows that God both rebukes the sin and offers complete cleansing and deliverance to all who turn to Him.

We also hear your concern that he is controlled and blackmailed and that his life may be in danger and influenced by ungodly people even in his household. We know that our struggle is not against flesh and blood but against the spiritual forces of wickedness Ephesians 6:12, and that we are not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers or bound together with ungodly influences 2 Corinthians 6:14. The Lord is able to separate him and to be his refuge and protector, for he who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty Psalm 91:1.

We pray together now.

Father, we thank You for the cross and for Your holy Son Jesus who suffered for all who believe. We praise Your holy name. Lord, You know the plans You have for this man, plans for peace and not for evil, to give him hope and a future Jeremiah 29:11, and Your thoughts are far greater than ours. We ask that You open his eyes to see the clear unmistakable truth about his identity in Christ. Remove the veil and the confusion of the false identity he adopted when he entered into sinful relationships and strayed from Your narrow path, for narrow is the gate and narrow is the way that leads to life Matthew 7:14. Lord, break his stony heart and give him a new heart and put a new spirit within him as You promised, I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh Ezekiel 36:26. Give him courage, for God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7, to follow You and to fear Your holy name, for the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom Proverbs 9:10. We ask that You separate him from every ungodly influence, including those in his household, and from every hateful and sinful relationship where he is controlled, manipulated and blackmailed. Expose the darkness, bring it to light, and set him free from every chain. Surround him with Your angels and keep him in safety, for the angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him and delivers them Psalm 34:7. Help him to recognize the depth of Your love and to understand that if we confess our sins, You are faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9. Draw him to true repentance, that he may submit himself to You, resist the devil, and the devil will flee from him James 4:7. Lead him into fellowship with believers who will disciple him and help him walk in purity and in the godly marriage You designed from the beginning, where a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6. We ask all these things in the powerful and mighty name of Jesus, amen.

We encourage you to continue to pray fervently for him, for the effective prayer of a righteous person can accomplish much James 5:16, and to speak the truth in love Ephesians 4:15, not condoning sin but showing the grace that leads to repentance. Continue to be a light to him, share the Scriptures with him when he is willing, and maintain wise and godly boundaries for your own protection while you intercede. Trust that God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think Ephesians 3:20 and that He desires that all should come to repentance 2 Peter 3:9.

We hear the compassion in how you are lifting this man before the Lord. You want him to hear God's voice clearly, to know who he truly is in Christ, and to be safe from relationships and influences where he feels controlled and even in danger. That is a loving way to intercede.

One thing that often brings steadiness in situations like this is remembering that identity in Christ becomes a quiet anchor. When a person begins to grasp more deeply how God sees him and loves him, he has a truer reference point for sorting what is false and what is real, and for finding courage to take the next faithful step even when it is hard. That renewing of how he sees himself is gentle, patient work that God does over time.

It is good you are standing in prayer for him. A simple way to stay steady yourself is to keep a regular, brief rhythm of prayer for him and to invite one mature, trusted pastor or prayer partner to carry this burden with you, so you are not holding concern for his safety alone. If you ever sense he is in immediate danger, encourage him to reach out for trusted local help.

Father, we lift this man to You. You know him fully and love him. Draw him close, open his eyes to Your love and truth, soften his heart and give him courage to follow Your way. Protect him, separate him from what harms and controls him, and surround him with people who will speak truth with care. Give wisdom and peace to our friend who is praying, as he entrusts this man into Your hands. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your prayer has been heard and we join our hearts with yours before the throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ, our only Mediator and Redeemer.

We give thanks with you for the cross, where the holy Son of God was bound that we might be set free. As it has been preached, Barabbas was set free when Christ was given up to be crucified, and by that great exchange Christ has set His people free from the bondage of sin. Therefore let us not go back into bondage, but rejoice in the liberty which is in Christ Jesus alone. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, and no other way to the Father but by Him.

We lift up before the Lord this man of whom you speak, who once rented his flat to you and who is known to God. We pray that the Lord in His mercy will open his eyes to see his true identity in Christ, not in the false identities which sin would put upon us. In Christ alone we are chosen, and in Christ alone we are made perfect, not by our own feelings or desires, but by being found in Him through faith. We pray that the Lord will break the stony heart and give a heart of flesh, that He will grant repentance and faith to turn from every sinful path and to walk in the narrow way which leadeth unto life. The way of holiness is not found in following our own desires, but in forsaking the habits which Christ condemns and in obedience to His precepts, for the faith which saves shows itself in such obedience.

We pray for deliverance from every ungodly influence and from every hateful entanglement wherein he is controlled and oppressed. You tell us he is in danger, even blackmailed and held in fear. We ask the Lord who is our deliverer to bring him out of every chain, for Christ in bonds was bound that captives might go free. May the Lord separate him from those influences in his household and elsewhere which would draw him away from holiness, and may He place him where Christ in the house and Christ in the heart may be known. Christ possessed by faith, Christ experienced in the soul, is the hope of glory, and only there is true freedom.

We do not ask God to bless what He calls sin, for He cannot bless disobedience. His holy plan for our good is plain in Scripture, that marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and that the intimacies of life and of the body belong within that covenant alone. Outside of it, such relations bring not life but bondage. We pray therefore not for the blessing of sin, but for cleansing from it through the blood of Christ, and for strength to live chastely and uprightly before Him. As it is written, the fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, and in His favour is life. May God grant this man to fear His holy name and to find life in His favour.

We pray also for you who intercede, that you may be kept in peace, looking unto Jesus, casting yourself wholly upon Him. He that looketh to God in the morning need not fear the face of man, and he who looketh to Christ in the evening may rest in sweet repose. Your trouble is not a sign that God has forsaken you, for He has said, I will never leave thee nor forsake thee, and Christ has left us His word, In the world ye shall have tribulation. He is faithful to His covenant.

May the Lord work mightily by His Holy Spirit in both your hearts, that Christ may be your life, and that you may know you are accepted in the Beloved, justified by faith, and have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. May He raise you up together and make you to sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus, and keep you till Christ who is your life shall appear.

We commend this man and your own soul to Him who is able to save to the uttermost all who come unto God by Him, praying that He will bring full deliverance, true repentance, and steadfast joy in holiness, to the glory of His holy name. Amen.
