Deliverance of Confusion

Shinebright

Disciple of Prayer
Thank God for Jesus Christ and thank the Lord for his word. I pray to be praying in God's will, taking self out. Period. I want to share today that my husband and I spoke on the phone. At first the conversation didn't go too well and we both ended the conversation a little sooner than we normally would, period. But I called him back to ask him if he was okay. And that's when he was talking a little bit better. God used me to talk with him of what the Lord would have for me to Speak with him about but majority of the time I did all the listening, period. Here's the praise report. My husband sharing with me That he was sitting out watching the leaves fall. It made him think about how he remembered him and his brother when they were little, How they used to jump in the pile of leaves and later he began to confess to me that he noticed I grew up in the church, emphasizing where I am in my walk with Jesus. Then He stated that His grandma took them to church On Sundays and Wednesday, but she then also took them to the night club on Fridays and Saturday, and then started all over again taking them to church on Sunday. So he informed me that he was confused about his walk in the Lord. That's the first time my husband ever shared that with me even though I already knew through spiritual discernment and conversation with my Christian sister and her husband, they been praying for us. So my prayer request in thanksgiving that Christ according to His timing enter into his heart and soul and dismantle the spirit of confusion in his heart, mind, and soul and thoughts, as God is not the author of confusion. I pray that my husband began to understand and believe of Jesus and Christ and the gospel of Jesus and have a relationship with Jesus Christ from this day forward. In Jesus name Amen

We rejoice with you in this praise report and we thank God with you for Jesus Christ and for His living word at work in your marriage. We thank Him that He is drawing your husband to open his heart and share honestly with you, and we give Him glory that He used you to listen with grace after a difficult start to the conversation. That willingness to call back, to ask if he was okay, and to listen more than speak is a beautiful picture of love and patience, and we see the Lord's hand in that moment when your husband sat watching the leaves fall and began to remember his childhood and to confess the confusion in his walk with the Lord.

We understand why he is confused. What he described is a mixture of light and darkness, being taken to church on Sunday and Wednesday and then to the nightclub on Friday and Saturday. That kind of double life sows deep confusion in a child's heart, because it teaches that we can walk with God and walk with the world at the same time. Scripture rebukes that mixture. No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be devoted to one and despise the other, Matthew 6:24. A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways, James 1:8, and friendship with the world is hostility toward God, James 4:4. God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, 1 Corinthians 14:33, and He has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control, 2 Timothy 1:7. True faith requires a whole heart, to come out from the world and be set apart unto Christ, and to be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God, Romans 12:2.

We also rejoice that you desire to pray in God's will and to take self out. That is the very heart of following Jesus, If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow me, Luke 9:23, and He must increase, but I must decrease, John 3:30. As you seek His will together with us we cling to the promise that if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us, 1 John 5:14.

We stand with you for your husband's deliverance and salvation. The confusion he feels can only be dismantled by Jesus Christ Himself, when a man repents and believes the gospel, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, was buried, and was raised on the third day, 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, and confesses with his mouth that Jesus is Lord and believes in his heart that God raised him from the dead, Romans 10:9. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6, and there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. If he will draw near to God, God will draw near to him, James 4:8, and if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new, 2 Corinthians 5:17.

We pray together for you both and for your marriage, which God ordained as a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman to reflect Christ and the church. We pray that your husband will be delivered from every spirit of confusion in his heart, mind, soul and thoughts, and that the Lord will grant him a sound mind and a heart fully surrendered to Jesus. We pray that he will come to understand and believe in Jesus Christ and the gospel, that he will be born again and have a living relationship with Jesus from this day forward, grounded in the word, walking in holiness and truth, forsaking the pattern of mixing church with the nightclub and the world. We pray that God will renew his mind, cleanse his past, and establish him as a godly husband who loves his wife even as Christ also loved the assembly and gave himself up for it, Ephesians 5:25. And we pray for you, that the Lord will continue to strengthen you as a godly wife, that your gentle and quiet spirit and your faithful prayers will continue to win and encourage him, as it is written wives, be in subjection to your own husbands, so that even if any do not obey the Word, they may be won by the behavior of their wives without a word, 1 Peter 3:1. May the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:7. We thank God for what He has begun and we trust His perfect timing to complete this work in your husband's soul. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

We were so encouraged by your praise report. Thank you for sharing both parts, the tense start to the call and then the softer turn when you checked back in. Choosing to listen more than speak was a gift to your husband, and it is beautiful that he used that space to open up about his childhood and his confusion.

Growing up with church on Sunday and the club on Friday and Saturday would leave anyone with mixed messages about what faith is. It makes sense he would feel torn, and it is a real step that he named it out loud. Change in how we understand and follow Jesus is usually more like training over time than a single moment of trying harder, so patience and steady prayer matter.

We join you in thanking God for this opening and in asking Him to keep working in your husband's heart in His timing. A gentle next step could be to simply keep that unpressured space, thank him when he shares, and let him lead any next conversation about faith. If he seems open, you might offer to read a short Gospel together or to visit with a pastor you both trust, without pressing for a decision.

Father, we thank You for Jesus and for the work You are already doing in this family. Bring clarity where there has been confusion, draw this husband closer to Yourself, and give both husband and wife peace, wisdom and patience as You lead. In Jesus' name, amen.

We give thanks with you for the mercy that has opened a door of conversation between you and your husband, and for the grace that enabled you to listen with patience and to speak as the Lord gave you utterance. To hear him confess his confusion is itself a mark of the Lord's dealing with him, for God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, and when a soul begins to feel its own bewilderment it is often the first work of the Spirit to show it its need of a Saviour.

We rejoice that you discern the matter aright, that salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone, and that no man can perform religion for another. His faith must be his own faith, his coming to Christ must be his own coming. As it is written, with the heart man believeth unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. We pray that the Lord will work in him that sincere faith which treats all God's Word alike and rests wholly upon Jesus Christ crucified, not upon church attendance nor upon any other thing, but upon Him who is all our salvation, the Alpha and Omega, the Author and Finisher of faith.

We join you in praying that according to His perfect timing, the Lord Jesus Christ will enter into your husband's heart and soul by the power of the Holy Spirit, and dismantle that spirit of confusion which has so long troubled his mind. For simple faith is always the work of the Spirit, and it is by the Spirit that we continue to exercise faith. We ask that the Spirit who testifies of Christ will make the gospel plain to him, that he may see that deliverance comes when the Lamb is slain, that God has found a ransom, even His own Son who bore the penalty of our iniquities, and that whosoever believeth on Him shall not be ashamed.

We pray that he may be brought to believe on the Person of Christ with a true though it may be trembling faith, for even little faith, if it begins and ends with Jesus, is true faith and is like precious faith, the gift of God, able to slay the giant. May the Lord grant him to rest upon the finished work without fear as to his present and eternal salvation, and then to make open confession of that faith before God and man, for we must not put asunder what God has joined.

Take up the whole armor of God, and above all the shield of faith, and continue to roll your burden upon the Lord in prayer. Be steadfast in your walk, continue in the Word, and let your life and your listening bear witness to the hope that is in you. We pray that the Lord will keep your marriage in His grace, as the lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and make it a testimony of His redeeming love.

We commend you both to Him who is able to make deliverance effectual and to bring forth His people with a mighty hand. May He grant to your husband repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ, that he may know himself saved, delivered from the pit, and kept by the power of God unto salvation. In the name of Jesus Christ our only hope, we ask these things. Amen.
