We hear the heaviness of your heart and we join with you in crying out to our Lord for deliverance after these decades of abuse, and we thank you for calling upon the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is in His name that captives are set free.
The isolation, manipulation, and control you describe grieves the heart of God, for His design for relationships and for family is love that protects, honors, and cherishes, not oppression that silences and wounds. The Word tells us, Husbands, love your wives, and don’t be bitter against them. Colossians 3:19 and Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly and gave himself up for it. Ephesians 5:25. What you have described is the opposite of Christlike love, it is harshness and domination, and we rebuke that pattern of abuse and the demand for silence about it. God does not call His children to suffer in hidden isolation, but to walk in light and truth and community. We also hear that this man has rejected and renounced God and refuses to repent, and we must speak plainly that this is a most dangerous and hard-hearted place to be, for unless we confess our sins He cannot forgive us, as it is written, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9. To refuse repentance is to remain under judgment, and we pray that the Lord would bring deep conviction upon him, that he would yet turn from his sin before it is too late.
We are praying for the two precious ones you mentioned who have been held in the grip of this manipulation and isolated environment. We pray that the Lord Himself would be their refuge and their deliverer, for we know that Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Psalm 34:18 and The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Psalm 34:17. We pray that God would break the power of fear and control that has kept them quiet, and give them courage and a clear path to speak the truth safely and to seek godly help. We pray that He would surround them with wise, biblically grounded counsel, faithful pastors, counselors, and trusted believers who will not minimize the abuse but will walk with them toward safety and healing, and where there is danger or illegality, we encourage involving appropriate authorities for protection, for the Lord establishes and guards His people from the evil one. But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one. 2 Thessalonians 3:3.
We also lift up you who are interceding, that you would be strengthened and not grow weary, remembering the promise, Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10 and I will say of Yahweh, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust. Psalm 91:2.
We pray together now, Father in heaven, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ we come before Your throne of grace and we lift up these two dear ones who have endured decades of abuse and isolation. Lord, You see what has been done in secret, You hear every cry that has been silenced, and we ask You to rend the veil of manipulation and set them free. Break the chains of fear and control, open a door of escape and safety, and place around them a hedge of protection and a community of godly support who will speak truth and love. Heal their broken hearts, restore what has been stolen, and give them voices to speak without shame, for You desire truth in our innermost being. We ask You to work in the heart of the one who has inflicted this harm and who has turned his back on You, Lord, bring him to the end of himself, convict him of his sin, and grant him repentance if it is still possible, that he might confess and turn from his wicked way. But if he continues to refuse You, we ask for Your righteous justice and Your restraining hand to keep these precious ones safe from further harm. Let Your perfect love cast out fear and let Your peace guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. We trust You as our deliverer and our healer, and we ask all this in the saving and powerful name of Jesus, amen.
We encourage you to continue to stand with these loved ones, to help them stay connected to a Bible believing church family, to seek wise Christian counseling for trauma, and to develop a clear safety plan with trusted help. God does not intend for His children to remain in darkness and silence, but to be brought into light, safety, and restoration, and we will continue to contend with you in prayer until that deliverance is fully realized.
