Beloved of All
Father, we thank You that we love ONLY since You first loved us, 1 Jn 4:19, and the limited understanding we possess in this age, 1 Cor 13:9, Deut 29:29. Yet still we would abound still more, Phil 1:9, 1 Thes 3:12, 1 Thes 4:9-10, and ask a greater comprehension of the great love for the humans of the world that You would give Your Only Son, Jn 3:16, and the eternal life that Christ obeyed at head-shaking wonder to secure, Phil 2:1-11, and what You mean when The Holy Spirit says about Jesus, “who by His death, defeated him that had the power of death, that is the devil, and liberated those who through fear of death were enslaved to fear their entire lives," Heb 2:14-15. We ask You destroy fear of death among believers through grasping that You already did it for us -- let our hearts be flooded with light to know the hope to which we were called and the riches of the glory of Your inheritance, Eph 1:18… Give us wisdom and revelation to understand You, the hope of our calling, the riches of Your inheritance, and the exceeding greatness of Your power You exerted in Christ in the resurrection, Eph 1:17-19.

Open our minds to understand the Scriptures, Lk 24:45, even to understand the Scriptures and the Power of God, Mk 12:24. Help us know what Jesus is saying and John testified, “When I saw Jesus, I fell at His feet like a dead man. But He placed His right hand on me and said, ‘Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last, 18 The Living One -- I was dead, and behold, NOW I am alive forever and ever! And I hold the keys of Death and of Hades,’” Rev 1:17-18. Thank You in advance, Mk 11:24, Heb 11:6, in The One Mediator's Name, 1 Tim 2:5, Jesus Christos, The Anointed One's (Messiah's) Name in The Name of Jesus Christ, again, in The Name of Jesus Christ, Jn 14:13-14, The Amen and Faithful Witness, The Originator of the New Creation, Rev 3:14, in Jesus, The One in Whom ALL God's Promises are Yes, and through Him we say, Amen, 2 COr 1:20....

We join with you in this beautiful and urgent prayer and we say amen to your cry that the fear of death would be destroyed among us through a deeper grasp of what our Lord Jesus has already accomplished.

We thank You Father that we love because You first loved us, 1 Jn 4:19, and that Your love was demonstrated in this, that You so loved the world that You gave Your one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life, Jn 3:16. We acknowledge that now we know in part, 1 Cor 13:9, and that the secret things belong to You, Deut 29:29, yet we ask with You for more, that our love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and all discernment, Phil 1:9, and that You would make us to increase and abound in love toward one another and toward all, 1 Thes 3:12, and as we have been taught by You to love one another, that we abound more and more, 1 Thes 4:9-10.

We thank You for the humility and obedience of Christ, who though He existed in the form of God did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself and became obedient to death, yes, the death of the cross, therefore You have highly exalted Him, Phil 2:6-9. And because the children have shared in flesh and blood, He Himself likewise partook of the same, that through death He might bring to nothing him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and might deliver all of them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage, Heb 2:14-15. We praise You that this is not a future hope only, but a finished victory.

So we pray together as You have asked, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to us a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, having the eyes of our hearts enlightened, that we may know what is the hope of His calling, and what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to that working of the strength of His might which He worked in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead, Eph 1:17-19. We ask that our hearts would be flooded with light to know this hope and these riches, Eph 1:18, and to comprehend the exceeding greatness of that resurrection power that is already at work in us.

We ask that You would open our minds to understand the Scriptures, Lk 24:45, for we know we can err when we do not know the Scriptures nor the power of God, Mk 12:24. Help us to truly hear what John heard when he fell at His feet as one dead, and Jesus laid His right hand on him saying, Do not be afraid. I am the first and the last, and the Living one. I was dead, and behold, I am alive forever and ever. Amen. I have the keys of Death and of Hades, Rev 1:17-18. What comfort that the One who holds the keys is not the enemy, but our living Savior.

We pray this believing that without faith it is impossible to be well pleasing to You, for whoever comes to You must believe that You exist, and that You are a rewarder of those who seek You, Heb 11:6, and that whatever we ask in prayer, believing, we will receive, Mk 11:24. We come only through the one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 1 Tim 2:5, and we ask in the name of Jesus, that whatever we ask in His name He may do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son, Jn 14:13-14. We say amen to this, for however many are the promises of God, in Him is the Yes, therefore also through Him is the Amen, to the glory of God through us, 2 Cor 1:20, through Jesus the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of God's creation, Rev 3:14.

Father, destroy fear in us. Let us not live enslaved any longer, but live as those who know death has lost its sting and the grave its victory, because Christ is risen. Teach us to number our days and to live with holy boldness, loving You and loving others, until we see You face to face.

We thank You in advance for answering, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ our Lord.

We were so encouraged to read your prayer. You are not asking for a small thing, you want to really know in your heart what Jesus has already done about death, and to live free from the fear that can weigh on all of us for a lifetime. That desire itself is precious to God.

What stood out to us is how you named both the wonder and the limits, that we love because He first loved us, and we only see in part now. Wanting to abound more in understanding His love and His power in raising Jesus is a good and humble place to stay. The resurrection is not only hope for later, it gives us a living hope for today, for the moments when pain, uncertainty or loneliness feel very real.

When those fears surface, it can help to bring them into the light with the Lord and with one trusted believer rather than carrying them alone. Even a short time of quiet worship or simply thanking Him for what He has already secured can gently reanchor our hearts when thoughts start to spin.

Father, we thank You for loving us first and for raising Jesus as the Living One who holds the keys of death. Flood our friend's heart with light and quiet confidence in Your love and power, and draw them closer to You each day. Give peace that steadies them in the present as they trust You for eternity. In Jesus' name, amen.

We have heard your prayer and we join our hearts with yours in thanksgiving that God first loved us and that Christ has entered into our flesh and blood to do for us what we could never do for ourselves.

Your desire is a right and blessed one, that the fear of death should be destroyed among believers by a fuller grasp of what the Lord Jesus has already accomplished. Scripture declares that through death He destroyed him who had the power of death, that is the devil, and delivered those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. That fear is natural to the sinner, for death is the manifest enemy of man and the wages of sin, and it answers a wise purpose in the economy of humanity. Yet it is not necessary to the saint, and it ought not to have dominion over those who are in Christ.

For our Lord has not only died in our place as our substitute and ransom, bearing the bruising of the Father that we might be healed, but He has changed the very character of death itself. He said, whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Death is overcome and its sting is removed, because the sword of justice was plunged into the heart of Jesus on purpose that He might die in your place. Sin gave death its damning power, but Christ, your Ransom, died, and now death hath no more dominion over Him, and sin shall have no more dominion over you if you be in Him.

Consider also where our risen Lord now is. He is not in the grave but at the right hand of God, taking possession of our home and preparing our place. He holds the keys of Death and of Hades in His own pierced hands. Government of those dark regions is vested in the Person of the Man Christ Jesus, bone of our bone and flesh of our flesh. You may peer into the shades of death, but there is nothing there which you, believing in Christ, have any cause to fear, for He possesses all power and uses it for His people.

Therefore to overcome the fear of death we must look to Jesus Christ on the cross atoning for us, in the resurrection rising for us, and in glory reigning for us. The same power which raised Christ from the dead is that exceeding greatness of power which is toward us who believe, and it is pulsing even now in every soul that loves God, preserving us unto glory. As surely as Christ rose, so has He guaranteed the resurrection of all His saints, and in this He has conquered death. So the apostle could write that all things are yours, whether life or death, and you are Christ's and Christ is God's. Death itself is yours if you are in Christ Jesus, a servant to bring you home.

We pray with you that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, that the eyes of your understanding being enlightened you may know what is the hope of His calling, and what the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power to us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power which He wrought in Christ when He raised Him from the dead. May He open your mind to understand the Scriptures and to know the power of God, that when you see Jesus you may hear Him lay His right hand upon you and say, Do not be afraid, I am the First and the Last, the Living One, I was dead and behold I am alive forever and ever.

May the Lord grant you to abound still more in knowledge and in love, and to rest in this jubilant note of the gospel, that you are delivered not by your own resolution but by Him who was dead and is alive forevermore. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, the one Mediator between God and men, in whom all the promises of God are Yes and Amen.
