Beloved of All
📝 Father, we thank You that we love ONLY since You first loved us, 1 Jn 4:19, and the limited understanding we possess in this age, 1 Cor 13:9, Deut 29:29. Yet still we would abound still more, Phil 1:9, 1 Thes 3:12, 1 Thes 4:9-10, and ask a greater comprehension of the great love for the humans of the world that You would give Your Only Son, Jn 3:16, and the eternal life that Christ obeyed at head-shaking wonder to secure, Phil 2:1-11, and what You mean when The Holy Spirit says about Jesus, “who by His death, defeated him that had the power of death, that is the devil, and liberated those who through fear of death were enslaved to fear their entire lives," Heb 2:14-15. We ask You destroy fear of death among believers through grasping that You already did it for us -- let our hearts be flooded with light to know the hope to which we were called and the riches of the glory of Your inheritance, Eph 1:18… Give us wisdom and revelation to understand You, the hope of our calling, the riches of Your inheritance, and the exceeding greatness of Your power You exerted in Christ in the resurrection, Eph 1:17-19.

Open our minds to understand the Scriptures, Lk 24:45, even to understand the Scriptures and the Power of God, Mk 12:24. Help us know what Jesus is saying and John testified, “When I saw Jesus, I fell at His feet like a dead man. But He placed His right hand on me and said, ‘Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last, 18 The Living One -- I was dead, and behold, NOW I am alive forever and ever! And I hold the keys of Death and of Hades,’” Rev 1:17-18. Thank You in advance, Mk 11:24, Heb 11:6, in The One Mediator's Name, 1 Tim 2:5, Jesus Christos, The Anointed One's (Messiah's) Name in The Name of Jesus Christ, again, in The Name of Jesus Christ, Jn 14:13-14, The Amen and Faithful Witness, The Originator of the New Creation, Rev 3:14, in Jesus, The One in Whom ALL God's Promises are Yes, and through Him we say, Amen, 2 COr 1:20....

We join you wholeheartedly in this prayer and we say amen to this cry for revelation, for it is at the very heart of the gospel that death itself has been destroyed and the fear that enslaves us has been broken.

We rejoice that you have anchored this request in the finished work of our Lord Jesus Christ. Scripture declares in Heb 2:14-15 that since the children have shared in flesh and blood, he also himself in the same way partook of the same, that through death he might bring to nothing him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and might deliver all of them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. That deliverance is not a future hope only but a present liberation. The enemy no longer holds the power of death, for Jesus took it upon himself and rose victorious.

We also pray with you for that flooding of light that Paul prayed for in Eph 1:17-19, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to us a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him, having the eyes of our hearts enlightened, that we may know what is the hope of his calling, and what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to that which he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead. We need this wisdom and revelation because as you prayed, now we see in part and we know in part as 1 Cor 13:9 says, and the secret things belong to the Lord as Deut 29:29 teaches, yet God delights to increase our understanding and cause our love to abound still more and more as Phil 1:9 and 1 Thes 3:12 say.

We love only because he first loved us as 1 Jn 4:19 declares, and we stand in wonder that God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life as Jn 3:16 promises. That eternal life was secured when Christ humbled himself and became obedient to death, even death on the cross, therefore God also highly exalted him and gave him the name which is above every name as Phil 2:9 says, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow.

We pray that God will open our minds to understand the Scriptures as he did for the disciples in Lk 24:45, and keep us from error by not knowing the Scriptures nor the power of God as Mk 12:24 warns. We want to hear and truly know what John heard when he fell at his feet as though dead and Jesus laid his right hand on him saying in Rev 1:17-18, Do not be afraid. I am the first and the last, and the Living one. I was dead, and behold, I am alive forever and ever. Amen. I have the keys of Death and of Hades. Because he lives and holds those keys, we do not need to fear.

Father, we thank you together in advance as Mk 11:24 teaches, trusting that without faith it is impossible to please you as Heb 11:6 says, and we come only through the one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus as 1 Tim 2:5 declares. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ, believing his promise in Jn 14:13-14 that whatever we ask in his name he will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. We rest in him who is the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God as Rev 3:14 says, for however many are the promises of God, in him is the Yes and through him is the Amen as 2 Cor 1:20 declares.

We ask you to destroy every lingering fear of death among us as believers. Replace it with settled hope, with joy in the resurrection power already exerted for us, and with a greater comprehension of your great love. Let us walk in freedom today, not enslaved, but as children who know our Redeemer lives and that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. We trust you to do this for your glory. Amen.

We hear the longing in your prayer, not just to know about Jesus victory over death but to feel it settle deep in your heart and loosen the grip of fear that can cling to all of us.

It makes sense you would ask for light and wisdom here. Fear of death can live quietly in the background even for those who trust Christ, and wanting to understand more of his love and his power in raising Jesus is a good and honest place to bring to the Father. Hope in Christ is not wishful thinking, it is an anchor for the soul when circumstances feel uncertain, a way the heart waits for what God has promised.

One small practice that often helps when that fear surfaces is to give your heart something active and hopeful to do. Worship does that. You might choose one hymn or chorus about the resurrection that has been meaningful to you and let it be part of your day, singing or listening while you walk or do chores, letting the truth take root not just in your mind but in your heart. Sharing that struggle with one trusted believer who can pray with you regularly can also keep hope from staying private and abstract.

Father, thank you for loving us first and for the life Jesus secured through his death and resurrection. Fill our hearts with quiet confidence in you, steady our thoughts when fear rises, and help us rest in your care today. In Jesus name, amen.

Your prayer touches the very heart of the gospel and we join you heartily in it, giving thanks with you that we love only because He first loved us, and that what we know now is in part, yet we are encouraged to abound more and more in love and in knowledge.

You have asked for that which God delights to give, namely wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, that the eyes of your understanding being enlightened you may know the hope of His calling and the riches of the glory of His inheritance and the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power which He wrought in Christ when He raised Him from the dead. This is a prayer after the apostle's own heart, and we pray it with you.

The fear of death is natural to man as a sinner, and it answers a purpose in the economy of humanity, yet for many it is not a passing cloud but a bondage. Scripture says they are all their lifetime subject to bondage through the fear of death. There are things in death which even the best naturally fear, the pang, the parting, the unknown. But our Lord has met this fear at its root.

We look to be delivered nowhere but to Him who partook of flesh and blood, that through death He might destroy him that had the power of death, that is the devil, and deliver them who through fear of death were subject to bondage. The Law gives sin its damning power, but Christ our Ransom died. In His death He destroyed death, and by His resurrection He has torn away the gates of the grave. He has changed the very character of death itself, so that He could say, whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Death remains in name, but its nature is altered for the believer. To the child of God it is so altered that the enemy is vexed to see with what joy a believer can die, for Christ holds the keys of Death and of Hades and says, Do not be afraid, I am the First and the Last, the Living One, I was dead and behold I am alive forever and ever.

The main way to overcome the fear of death is to believe firmly in your Lord. In proportion as faith grows strong, fear vanishes, and as faith grows weak, fear comes in to take its place. Therefore we pray with you that you may know Him and the power of His resurrection. Not only the power displayed in the resurrection, but the power which comes out of it. It is an evidencing power, like a seal set to prove the document true, a justifying power, a life giving power and a consoling power. The same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead is now at work in every soul quickened from spiritual death. Your regeneration was wrought by the same energy that shall one day raise your body, and that power is pulsing still among the living people of God, preserving them that they go not back to death.

So we ask the Father to open your mind to understand the Scriptures and the power of God, as He opened the understanding of the disciples, and to flood your heart with light. May He grant you to see that death is now but a passing incident between this life and the next, to be met not only with equanimity but with expectation, since we look not for death but for resurrection. May you hear the silver trumpet of the gospel as a resurrection trumpet, and know in present experience that you have passed from death unto life, and that nothing shall be able to separate you from His love.

We thank Him in advance, trusting His promise that He rewards those who diligently seek Him, and we ask all this in the name of the one Mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, in whom all the promises of God are Yes and Amen, our risen Lord who was dead and is alive forevermore. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer is good and right before God, for you ask for what He Himself desires to give, that you may know more deeply the love with which He first loved us and the power with which He raised Christ from the dead.

Scripture says that through death Christ destroyed him who had the power of death, that is the devil, and set free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death. That fear made men slaves. As I have taught, a man who fears death will submit to everything rather than die, and lives without true joy because he daily expects his sentence. But now the prison door is opened. The devil is brought to nothing, because the one who no longer fears death is beyond his tyranny. When a soul has learned the truth of the resurrection and counts not even his life dear for Christ's sake, what can threaten him then, loss of goods or honor or exile. Nothing moves him, for he is higher and freer than all.

For this reason Christ has made death to be no longer death but sleep. When He came to the ruler's daughter He cast out the pipers and said she sleeps, and of Lazarus He said our friend sleeps. He did this to show how easy it is for Him to raise the dead and to teach us not to fear death. Since He Himself was to die, He prepared His disciples beforehand to take courage. From the time He died and rose, death is sleep for those who believe. As He said to Martha, I am the Resurrection and the Life, he who believes in Me though he were dead yet shall he live, and whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. This is not the common death of the body which all still taste for a little while, but the true death which has no power over those who are His.

So I pray with you as you have asked. May the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened to know the hope to which He has called you and the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints and the immeasurable greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty strength which He exerted in Christ when He raised Him from the dead. May He open your mind to understand the Scriptures and to know the power of God, that you may hear Christ Himself saying as John heard Him, Do not be afraid, I am the First and the Last, I am the Living One, I was dead and behold I am alive forever and ever and I hold the keys of death and Hades.

You have already been planted together with Him in baptism in the likeness of His death, and as His body buried in the earth brought forth the salvation of the world, so your burial with Him in water has borne fruit in forgiveness and righteousness. Hold fast to that likeness, and put to death sin by your own earnest purpose with His help, that you may also share in the likeness of His resurrection. Then afflictions and trials will not disturb you but will conform you more to Him, and you will sorrow for those who fall asleep not as those who have no hope, but as those who await the voice that will call them awake.

I ask the Lord to destroy all lingering fear of death in you by letting you see that He has already destroyed it for you, to flood your heart with light, and to keep you in perfect peace until that day when He who is our life shall appear. I ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, the one Mediator between God and men, in whom all the promises of God are Yes and Amen.
