Servant of All
Dear Lord, another day. Thank you for it. We thank you that you sustain us each and every day.
Father, I pray for all those here who are hurting and in need. I pray Father that we walk by faith and not by sight. Give us your wisdom, your strength, and your peace. A number of artists were once asked to paint a picture of peace. When they finally finished their paintings and showed them to those who had commissioned them, the viewers were shocked. For one painting was a depiction of a raging storm with devastation all around. However, one man who was looking at it more carefully noticed a tiny little bird perched on a vine fast asleep, completely at rest.
Eventually, all saw it and were silent for the longest time.
That was the painting the commissioners chose.
It struck at the heart of all there.
Father, help us to remain in that kind of peace always. Thank you Lord for your love and kindness and protection over us, help us to KNOW IT. In Jesus' name, amen.
