Daughter still in detox

Your great faith shines through this prayer, for you thank Christ that your daughter has been given these precious days in detox, and you plead with Him to heal her mind, body, and spirit, that she might come out and care rightly for her own child. This is the cry of a soul like that Canaanite woman, who would not be silent when her daughter was grievously tormented. Do you recall how the Lord at first gave her no answer, how the disciples urged Him to send her away, and how He even spoke words that seemed to repel her? Yet she persisted, and He saw that her faith was no small thing. He said, “Great is thy faith; be it unto thee even as thou wilt.” So you also, by your unceasing entreaty, contribute not a little to the healing of your child. Even if the days seem difficult and the outcome uncertain, let your faith stand firm. God often delays that He may test and strengthen, and then He gives a gift far beyond our asking.

Detox is a hard medicine, but it is a taking away, a removal of that thick evil humor which has clouded the eye of your daughter’s soul. As I have often taught, you cannot extinguish a mad desire by feeding it; you must convince the mind that the thing sought is impossible and must be renounced entirely. It is easier for a man to fly than to cure lust by adding more to it. So pray earnestly that in these remaining days, her innermost thoughts would be persuaded: that she would forget her former people and the house of her spiritual fathers, those old companions and destructive habits that once enslaved her. For the psalmist declares, “Hearken, O daughter, and consider; forget also thine own people and thy father’s house: so shall the King greatly desire thy beauty.” This is not a forgetting of natural affection, but of sin, a turning away from all that defiles, so that the beauty of a purified soul might shine forth. When she turns from these dead things, Christ will restore her and make her a true mother to her little one.

Do not lose heart if she has stumbled many times before. How many have heard the word ten times and seemed utterly unmoved, yet afterward at a single hearing were completely changed! The tree that falls with one last stroke has been weakened by many that came before it. The root, unseen, knows the work of each blow. Your prayers, your tears, your steadfast love are not wasted; they are preparing the way. Bear the grief and loss you have endured for her sake with thanksgiving, as Job did, for if we endure nobly, God either restores what was lost or gives a far greater reward.

Therefore continue to cry out to Jesus, the physician of souls and bodies. Let no apparent silence offend you. Let your faith rise up and say, even now, “He will heal her mind, body, and spirit.” Great is your faith, may it be done for you and for your daughter as you have willed, according to His tender mercy.

The battle your daughter is facing is one we all understand in part, because the body of Christ is knit together so that when one member suffers, the whole body feels the weight. You are not carrying this alone, and your prayer joins you to the rest of us who are standing with you now.

What is happening inside her is the deep conflict that Scripture describes. Man is a union of body, mind, and spirit, but in the natural state, the body takes the uppermost place. The appetites and cravings of the flesh begin to rule, and the mind becomes consumed with meeting those demands. That is the mind of the flesh, and it leads only to death. It is that very captivity, that war within her own members, that she is crying out to be delivered from. The cry, "Who shall deliver me from this body of death?" finds its answer only in Jesus Christ. He is the deliverer.

So when you pray for Jesus to heal her mind, body, and spirit, you are asking for the created order to be restored. To have her spirit made alive and uppermost again, filling her mind with the things of the Spirit, which are life and peace. That is the real transformation. Her mind does not have to remain a servant to the body's cravings. By presenting herself to God as a living sacrifice, her mind can be renewed, and she will discover the good and acceptable will of the Lord for her life.

Hold on to this truth as well: the real her is not that physical body, weak and dishonorable as it feels right now. The body is the tent, the temporary dwelling. One day, for all who belong to Him, this corruptible will put on incorruption. The body that comes from the ground is not the body that was planted; God gives a body that pleases Him, fashioned like the glorious body of Jesus Christ. Her ultimate hope is not just a repaired version of this present vessel, but a complete metamorphosis into a spiritual body that fits her for His kingdom.

She has a vital place in the body of Christ, a function no one else can fill. Right now, her part seems feeble and broken, yet those members are considered necessary. Even in this struggle, the Lord is working. Keep lifting her up. Her spirit is being called forth from the dormancy of death into life, and the mind of Christ is what will finally bring a sound and whole functioning to her entire being. Jesus is the one who silences the law of sin in her members, and He is more than able to complete this healing.

We are so grateful you shared your heart and allowed us to stand with you in prayer for your precious daughter. It is a sacred privilege to lift her before the Lord, asking Him to continue His healing work in her mind, body, and spirit during these remaining days in detox. We join you in praying that she emerges stronger, with a renewed desire to walk in His grace and purpose.

If the Lord has already moved in a mighty way—whether through her progress, her peace, or a breakthrough in her heart—we would love to celebrate with you! Please share a praise report so we can rejoice together in His faithfulness.

If the journey still feels uncertain or the answer hasn’t yet come as you hoped, we encourage you to post this request again. We are committed to continuing in prayer with you, believing that God is at work even when we can’t see it. Let us keep interceding for her complete restoration and for your strength as her mother.

May the Lord surround you both with His comfort, wisdom, and hope. We pray this in the powerful name of Jesus, trusting that He who began a good work in her will carry it on to completion. Amen.
