Daughter still in ### for 3 weeks

I perceive the burden of your heart, and I rejoice that you spread it before the throne of grace. A miracle you plead for, and well you may, for the Miracle Worker still sits at the right hand of the Father, ever living to make intercession and to send salvation to the uttermost. Consider this: the power of Christ to rescue from sin does not lie in the person rescued; it lies wholly in Jesus Himself. He did nothing but speak, and the unclean spirit fled. So, too, He can speak the word and open a door where no door seemed possible, making a straight path for your daughter and her little one to walk in together.

Reflect upon the miracle of the loaves; had the disciples considered it, they would have known that Christ is grand in emergencies. Is not this an emergency? The weeks are flying, the child’s schooling draws near, and a mother’s heart longs for sobriety and the clasp of her own flesh and blood. He displays His power spontaneously, without need of pressing or even prompting. His bowels are full of compassion; He sees the prodigal while yet a great way off. Bring every hard case before Him! You who have sleepless nights and much anxiety, take comfort from the healing of the sick child; lay this double burden at His dear feet.

Learn from the weaned child. The Lord would have your soul be still, even as a child quieted upon its mother’s breast. The weaned child is entirely dependent, knowing nothing of how it is to be fed, yet resting quietly, free from even a trace of anxiety. Leave the fretting and the planning to Him who orders all things well. Your grandchild, so tender and needy, and your daughter, struggling for a new life, are both in the pierced hands that once held the nails. Remember Manasseh: his mother’s prayers pursued him through all his rebellion until the Lord brought him low, heard his cry, and blotted out his sins like a cloud. You know not how prevalent your intercessions may prove. A mother’s tears have a voice that Heaven cannot ignore.

A Christian is a miracle, a mass of miracles, and your daughter’s deliverance from the chains of strong drink, the reuniting with her child, will be a miracle of love indeed. Divine love is a universal medicine; no spiritual disease can resist its healing power. He has loved you out of your own impatience; He will love your daughter out of her bondage. Trust Him for the place, the program, the very day. The Holy Child Jesus, who once nestled in a mother’s arms and knows every mother’s pang, will undertake. Only believe. Let the faith that withers the fruitless fig tree and casts mountains into the sea take hold of this matter. The Lord is not slack concerning His promise. Wait and watch with expectancy, and you shall see the miracle of grace unfold for your household.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The heart that burns for a child knows no rest, and your anguish rises before God like the cry of one in travail. You seek a place where mother and daughter may be sheltered together, that sobriety might take root and what was scattered be gathered. This is no small petition, but a longing for the undoing of death’s shadow. Yet consider that the very birth-pang of your soul, this sharp sorrow, is not barren. The woman in childbirth, the Lord tells us, has anguish because her hour has come, but when the child is born she no longer remembers the affliction, for joy that a human being has been brought into the world. Your daughter’s sobriety is such a birth, and the Enemy would have you believe the pain is purposeless. It is not. The pangs you feel are God’s own surgery, cutting away corruption that life may come forth.

Do not suppose that the walls of a facility are the true shelter. A mother taken with her child into Egypt found no palace, but the providence of God was a fortress around them. He who watched over the infant Christ watches over your granddaughter. The time presses hard upon you, the child’s birthday approaches, school begins, and the hourglass of earthly authority runs low. But the Father of the fatherless guards what is entrusted to Him. You are the guardian now, and this is holy work. Raise the child in the fear of the Lord, and He shall prove a wall no program can tear down. That fear planted in her heart will outlast every earthly arrangement.

Yet I must speak plainly. The longing for reunion is righteous, but sobriety is more than a program. It is the casting off of a tyranny that has mocked the image of God in your daughter. If she returns to her child still nursing secret idols, the house built will be on sand. Pray, then, not only for a place, but for a rending of the heart. A true turning from sin is the only foundation on which a mother takes back her child. That is the miracle you must cry out for with louder voice than for any open door. A woman saved through childbearing, Paul writes, is saved if she continues in faith and love and sanctification with self-restraint. The labor of your prayers must bring forth this daughter remade, not merely relocated.

Your weeping is not from want of love but from the furnace of love. I am a father who would travail in birth again for my children, crying out with hotter grief than any woman widowed young. So I understand the fire that keeps you sleepless. Yet turn your eyes from the clock and the calendar. He who straightened the bent woman and raised the ruler’s daughter is not hindered by deadlines. If He bids them come, no waiting list bars the way. If He delays, it is that they might learn that man does not live by bread alone but by every word from His mouth. The bond between mother and child is written into the flesh, for the three, father, mother, child, are one flesh by the mingling of seed. How much more, then, does the God who knit them take notice when that bond is torn? He will restore the years the locust has eaten, but in His time, that the healing be complete and not a hastily mended wound.

So be sober of mind. In the season of temptation, do not make haste. Your granddaughter does not go fatherless. Your daughter is not beyond the hem of Christ’s garment. Commend them daily into hands pierced for their redemption, and let your faith be the evidence of things not yet seen. Stand fast. The joy that comes with the morning will swallow this night of weeping, and you shall say with the Prophet, this was the Lord’s doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes.

What a heavy burden you carry, but take heart: Jesus is always most interested in the person with the greatest need. When He walked this earth, the hurting, the desperate, the ones everyone else wrote off, these were the ones who drew His immediate attention. Your daughter and granddaughter are in exactly that kind of need right now, and that means they are not far from His heart.

God has made only one provision for our deepest brokenness, the sin that tangles us up in addiction, the shame that tells us we’re beyond hope, and that provision is Jesus Christ. He alone can cleanse, restore, and make all things new. There is no other way, but there is this Way, and He is mighty to save. Your daughter’s desire to enter a program and continue her sobriety journey is a step toward life, and Jesus said that if we want to enter into life, we must follow Him. The real essence of His call is “Follow Me.” Trust that as she seeks help, the Lord is already clearing a path, even when you can’t see it yet.

Prayer is our lifeline. If Jesus Himself, the Son of God, constantly turned to the Father for strength and guidance, how much more do we need to cry out to Him? You are doing exactly the right thing, laying this need before the throne of grace, day after day. Don’t stop. In Jesus’ name, you have authority to resist the powers of discouragement and despair that want to tell you this situation is impossible. Those powers must flee when we stand in His victory.

I know the ache of watching your family fractured. Sometimes following Jesus puts us in a painful place with those we love most. Yet He promises that no one who has left houses or family for His sake will fail to receive a hundredfold blessings in the family of God. That doesn’t erase the deep desire to see your daughter and granddaughter reunited and whole, but it means you are surrounded by brothers and sisters in Christ who carry this with you. The bond we share in the Spirit is deeper than blood, and we are praying with you for that miracle.

Keep your eyes on the One who heals the withered hand on the Sabbath, who touches lepers, and who feeds multitudes from a little boy’s lunch. He is the same today. He is drawn to the neediest, and He has not overlooked this mother and child. May He open a door in the coming weeks that no one can shut, a safe place where they can be together and where she can find firm footing in His grace.

In Jesus’ name, we trust and we keep asking.

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing in agreement with you in prayer for your daughter and granddaughter. Our hearts have been heavy as we have lifted them before the Lord, asking Him to open doors that no one can shut and to provide a safe, nurturing facility where they can be together as your daughter continues her journey toward sobriety. We have prayed specifically for the coming weeks, asking Jesus to move in a mighty way so that your granddaughter can begin school with the stability and love she deserves, and so that your daughter may gain full custody through a program that will support her healing and restoration.

If God has already answered this prayer in ways you can see, we would be overjoyed to hear your praise report—let us celebrate His faithfulness with you! If the answer hasn’t come yet, or if new challenges have arisen, please share them again so we can continue to intercede on your behalf. We believe that our Heavenly Father hears the cries of His children, and we will not stop praying until His will is made clear in this situation.

May the Lord bless you with peace that surpasses all understanding as you trust in Him. May He strengthen your faith and surround you with His love as you wait on His perfect timing. We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus. Amen.
