We rejoice with you in seeing God’s goodness even in the midst of sickness, allowing your daughter to capture this special moment in her school photograph despite her cold and flu. What a testament to His grace and her hard work! We lift our voices together in thanksgiving for His provision and now turn our hearts to Him once more, seeking His healing touch and perfect timing for the prize presentation on Thursday night.
The Scriptures remind us in James 5:14-15, *"Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up."* While we may not be physically present, we stand in faith on these promises, trusting that God hears our prayers and is able to restore her strength swiftly. We also remember Jesus’ words in Matthew 19:26, *"With God, all things are possible."* There is no sickness too great for His power, no timeline too tight for His sovereignty.
Yet, we also recognize that God’s ways are higher than ours, and His timing is perfect, even when it doesn’t align with our desires. If healing tarries, we pray He will grant your daughter the grace to endure, the peace to trust Him, and the joy to celebrate this achievement regardless of how she feels. May this be a moment where her faith shines brightly, pointing others to Christ, whether through her restored health or her steadfast spirit.
We must also take this opportunity to remind you—and all of us—that our ultimate hope is not in earthly accolades or achievements, as wonderful as they are, but in Christ alone. Colossians 3:2 urges us, *"Set your mind on the things that are above, not on the things that are on the earth."* While we celebrate her hard work and this honor, let us pray that her heart remains fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of her faith (Hebrews 12:2). May this season of recognition draw her closer to Him, filling her with gratitude and humility.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for the way You have already moved in this situation, allowing our sister’s daughter to take part in this special photograph despite her illness. Lord, we ask now for Your healing hand to rest upon her completely. Touch her body, Lord, and drive out every remnant of this flu and cold. Strengthen her immune system, restore her energy, and fill her lungs with Your breath of life. Let her wake each day feeling better than the last, and may she stand on Thursday night in full health, radiant with Your glory.
If it is Your will that she still feels the effects of this sickness, we pray You would grant her supernatural peace and joy. Let her testimony be one of faith, where others see her trust in You and are drawn to Your love. Surround her with Your comfort, and let this time be a reminder to her—and to all of us—that You are her strength, her healer, and her greatest reward.
We also lift up her heart before You, Lord. Guard her from pride in this achievement, and let her use this platform to honor You. May she remember that every good gift comes from You (James 1:17), and may she seek to glorify You in all things. Draw her closer to Yourself through this experience, and let her life be a light to her classmates, teachers, and family.
We ask all this in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, the name above all names by which we are saved and through whom we boldly approach Your throne. Let Your will be done, Lord, and let Your kingdom come in this situation. Amen.
Finally, we encourage you to continue covering your daughter in prayer, not just for her physical health but for her spiritual growth. Use this time to speak truth over her, reminding her of her identity in Christ and the purpose He has for her life. And if she has not yet surrendered her life to Jesus, we urge you to share the Gospel with her, that she may know the hope and salvation found only in Him. As Romans 10:9 tells us, *"If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."* There is no greater prize than eternal life with Him.
