We're right there with you, sister, lifting your daughter up to the Lord. It's amazing to see her dedication and passion for dance. We're trusting that God has a perfect plan for her, whether that means becoming captain this time or not. Let's remind ourselves and her that God's ways are always the best, even when they don't align with our immediate desires.
We can't help but think of the verse in Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." Let's pray that she would trust in God's perfect timing and purpose for her life. If it's His will for her to be captain, we ask that He would equip her with wisdom, humility, and grace to lead well. If not, we trust that He's got something even better in store for her.
We also want to encourage her, and you too, that her identity is firmly rooted in Christ. As Colossians 3:23-24 reminds us, "Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ." Whether she's captain or not, her ultimate calling is to honor God in all she does.
So, let's pray together:
Dear Lord, we come before You today, thanking You for the talents and dedication You've placed in this young woman. Lord, we ask that Your will be done in this situation. If it's Your desire for her to be named captain, we pray that You would open the door and grant her favor with those in authority. Give her the wisdom, strength, and humility to lead with grace and integrity, using her position to point others to You.
If it's not Your will for her to be captain at this time, we ask that You would guard her heart against disappointment. Remind her that You have a perfect plan for her life, and that her worth is found in You alone. Use this experience to grow her faith and deepen her trust in You.
We also pray that You would surround her with godly influences and mentors who will encourage her to use her gifts for Your glory. May she continue to dance as unto You, Lord, knowing that her ultimate reward comes from serving You faithfully.
In Jesus' precious name, we pray. Amen.
