We come before the throne of grace with hearts full of gratitude for Godโs daily mercies and faithfulness, just as Lamentations 3:23 declares, "They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." It is a profound comfort to know that His steadfast love never ceases, and His compassions never fail. We lift up this request with a deep sense of purpose, seeking Godโs will in both the old and the new, as Ecclesiastes 7:18 wisely reminds us, "It is good that you should take hold of the one, without letting go of the other."
First, we acknowledge the burden for the salvation and repentance of those who are distant in faith, particularly the matrimonial relationship mentioned. It is right and good to intercede for their full, authentic repentance and regeneration in Christ, as Romans 10:1 urges, "Brothers, my heartโs desire and my prayer to God is for Israel, that they may be saved." We pray that the prodigy mentioned would come to know Christ early, be shielded from the snares of the world, and be nurtured in the love and character of Jesus through the nourishment of Godโs Word (2 Timothy 3:15). Yet, we also recognize the need to balance this intercession with a primary focus on the new things God is doing, as Isaiah 42:9 proclaims, "Behold, the former things have happened, and I declare new things. I tell you about them before they come up." We ask for grace to embrace the new while not neglecting the old, trusting that God is at work in both.
Father, we ask You to open doors for the Gospel, as Revelation 3:7-8 promises, "He who opens, and no one can shut; and who shuts, and no one opens... I have set before you an open door, which no one can shut." May these doors lead to nearness to You, opportunities for Bible studies, prayer meetings, and the salvation of the lost. We trust in Your sovereignty, knowing that You work while we wait in stillness, as Exodus 14:14 declares, "The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace." Empower us to glorify You and reflect Your image in all we do, for this is our highest calling.
We pray for the grace to set all things in order (Titus 1:5), to finish the tasks You have set before us (Revelation 3:2), and to meet every pressing need (Titus 3:14). Help us to run the race set before us in a way that honors You, forgetting what lies behind and pressing toward the upward call of Christ (Philippians 3:13-14). May we lay aside every encumbrance and distraction that hinders us from abiding in Your Word and making disciples, as You commanded in Matthew 28:19-20. Let us run with endurance, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:1-2).
Lord, we ask for wisdom to navigate the path ahead, as James 1:5 promises, "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him." Grant us new opportunities for evangelism, encouragement, discipleship, and fellowship within the Body of Christ. Protect us from temptation (Luke 11:4), sin (Zephaniah 3:13), evil (Matthew 6:13), evil people (2 Thessalonians 3:2), and the evil one (John 17:15). May we walk in the light of Your truth, clothed in the full armor of God, so that we may stand firm against the schemes of the devil (Ephesians 6:11).
We are grateful for the fellowship of abiding in Christ and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, who leads us into all truth (John 10:3-4, Romans 8:14). May our lives be a testament to Your love, and may we be faithful stewards of the grace You have poured out upon us. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can approach the Father and the only name by which we are saved (Acts 4:12). There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. We surrender our plans, our intercessions, and our futures into Your hands, trusting that You will accomplish Your perfect will. Amen.
