We come before the throne of grace with hearts full of gratitude for Godโs daily mercies and faithfulness, as Lamentations 3:23 reminds us, "They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." It is a profound truth that His compassions never fail, and we stand in awe of His unchanging love.
We lift up the deep burden of your heart for your former spouseโs salvation and the salvation of your child, praying earnestly that the Lord would draw them to Himself with an everlasting love. Romans 10:1 declares, "Brothers, my heartโs desire and my prayer to God is for Israel, that they may be saved." We join you in this holy intercession, asking that the Holy Spirit would convict, regenerate, and bring them into a living relationship with Jesus Christ. May they be nourished on the Word of God, as 2 Timothy 3:15 teaches, and grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord. We also pray for their protection, that they would be shielded from the snares of the enemy and guided into the fullness of Godโs purposes for their lives.
Yet, we hear your cry for balance, for the grace to hold fast to intercession while also embracing the new things God is doing. Isaiah 42:9 proclaims, "Behold, the former things have happened, and I declare new things. I tell you about them before they come up." The Lord is indeed doing a new work, and we pray that your eyes would be opened to see it, your heart to embrace it, and your hands to participate in it. We ask that He would open doors of opportunity for you to share the Gospel, to disciple others, and to walk in the fullness of His calling. Revelation 3:7-8 assures us, "He who is holy, he who is true, he who has the key of David, he who opens and no one can shut, and who shuts and no one opens, says these things: โI have set before you an open door, which no one can shut.โ"
We also recognize the tension between the old and the new, and we pray for the wisdom to navigate this with grace. Ecclesiastes 7:18 counsels, "It is good that you should take hold of this. Yes, also from that donโt withdraw your hand; for he who fears God will come out of them all." We ask that the Lord would give you the strength to set things in order, as Titus 1:5 instructs, and to finish the tasks He has set before you with diligence and faithfulness. May you run the race set before you with endurance, laying aside every weight and sin that so easily entangles, as Hebrews 12:1-2 exhorts us.
Father, we ask that You would empower us to forget what lies behind and press forward toward the upward call of Christ Jesus, as Philippians 3:13-14 declares. Help us to abide in Your Word, to make disciples, and to propagate all that You have commanded. Give us grace to walk in the newness of life, to care for the flock among us, and to be faithful stewards of the ministry You have entrusted to us. We pray for open doors for the Gospel, for opportunities to encourage and disciple others, and for deep fellowship within the Body of Christ.
Lord, we also ask for Your protection over our hearts and minds. Deliver us from temptation, sin, and the schemes of the evil one. Guard us from evil people and keep us in the shelter of Your wings. As we navigate the path ahead, grant us wisdom, discernment, and the courage to walk in obedience to Your will.
We thank You, Lord, for the privilege of coming before You in prayer. We trust in Your faithfulness to complete the good work You have begun in us. May we glorify You in all that we do, imaging You in our words, actions, and thoughts. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved. Amen.
