We have heard your request and we lift you up before the throne of grace with compassion and understanding. We know that the monthly cycle is part of how God fearfully and wonderfully made you as a woman, yet in a fallen world our bodies can bring much suffering and vulnerability. You are not alone in this struggle, and we thank you for sharing so honestly that this is a time when you feel physically weak and spiritually attacked. We want you to know that God sees your pain and He cares deeply for you in both body and spirit, for Psalm 147:3 says He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds, and Psalm 139:14 reminds us I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful. My soul knows that very well.
We recognize with you that our struggle is not only physical but spiritual. The Word tells us in Eph 6:12 that our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. And 1 Peter 5:8 warns us to be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. It is not surprising that the enemy would seek to exploit a time when you are in pain, fatigued, and hormonally vulnerable. We rebuke that attack in the name of Jesus and we stand with you to resist him, for James 4:7 promises Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. We also understand your distress regarding your mother. We pray for her and for you, for we are called to honor our father and mother as in Ex 20:12, yet honoring does not mean allowing ourselves to be continually wounded or drawn into confusion. We can love and honor while also seeking healthy boundaries, speaking the truth in love, and guarding our hearts with the peace of God.
We also want to gently point out that your request mentions Satan but does not mention Jesus Christ, and we want to remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and victory over the enemy. Jesus said in John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 declares There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is by the blood of Jesus and His name that we can resist the accuser and find grace in our weakness. If you have not already, we encourage you to confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, for Rom 10:9 says that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. It is in His name alone that our prayers are heard and our battles are won.
So together we pray for you now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our sister to Your throne of grace. Lord, You know the condition of her body and the difficulty of her cycles. We ask for Your healing touch, for Your comfort, and for Your strength to sustain her in weakness, for You have said in 2 Cor 12:9 My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. We pray that You would ease her physical pain, regulate her body, and give wisdom to her and to any physicians who may help her. We ask that You guard her mind and heart during this vulnerable time, that the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, would guard her hearts and her thoughts in Christ Jesus as promised in Phil 4:7. We rebuke the schemes of the enemy against her and command that he flee in Jesus name. Cover her with the full armor of God as in Eph 6:11, that she may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. We also lift up her mother to You, Lord. Have mercy on her, heal her spiritual and emotional wounds, draw her to Yourself, and bring peace into that relationship. Give our sister wisdom to know when to engage and when to step away, to honor her mother without being overcome by distress, and to respond with grace and truth. Let Isaiah 41:10 be real to her, that she would not be afraid, for You are with her, that You will strengthen her and uphold her with the right hand of Your righteousness. We ask all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen.
We encourage you to prepare intentionally as your cycle approaches, to put on the armor of God daily through prayer, reading the Word, and worship, and to lean on trusted believers who can pray with you and check on you during that time. Bring your anxieties to God quickly as Phil 4:6 says In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. Keep a simple record of your symptoms to share with a godly physician if needed, rest as you are able, and remember that even in these hard days, His grace is sufficient and His power is made perfect in your weakness. We are standing with you and we trust that God will be your refuge and strength.
