Hello pray for my mother she curses my big sister I feel bad about this, we have Jesus closing the mouth of the snake's tongue This is affecting me psychologically.

We lift up your heart before the Lord, knowing how deeply painful it is to witness division and harsh words within a family, especially when it involves a mother cursing her own child. The Bible makes it clear that life and death are in the power of the tongue (Proverbs 18:21), and curses spoken in anger or bitterness can bring spiritual and emotional harm. But we serve a God who is greater than any curse, for Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us (Galatians 3:13). The blood of Jesus is powerful enough to break every chain of generational curses, bitterness, and strife in your family.

It is commendable that you recognize this battle is not merely flesh and blood but a spiritual attack—one where the enemy seeks to divide and destroy through the tongue, which the Bible describes as a restless evil, full of deadly poison (James 3:8). You are right to declare that Jesus closes the mouth of the serpent! He is the same God who shut the mouths of lions for Daniel (Daniel 6:22) and who silences the accuser of the brethren (Revelation 12:10). We stand with you in rebuking every spirit of strife, bitterness, and division in your home. No weapon formed against your family shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and every tongue that rises against you in judgment, God shall condemn.

Yet we must also address the heart behind these words. The Bible commands children to honor their parents (Exodus 20:12) and parents not to provoke their children to anger (Ephesians 6:4). Cursing is not the way of the Lord; it is the fruit of an unrestrained tongue and an unrenewed heart. If your mother is a believer, this behavior is out of alignment with the Spirit of God, for the same mouth should not produce blessing and cursing (James 3:10). If she is not yet saved, this is an opportunity for the Holy Spirit to convict her heart and draw her to repentance. We pray that God softens her heart, breaks the spirit of anger within her, and replaces it with His love, patience, and self-control.

For you, dear sibling, we pray for supernatural peace that surpasses understanding (Philippians 4:7) to guard your heart and mind. Do not carry the burden of guilt or responsibility for your mother’s words—this is not your fault. But you *can* be an agent of God’s love and reconciliation in this situation. Speak life over your sister and your mother, even if they do not. Forgive as Christ forgave you (Colossians 3:13), not because their words are acceptable, but because bitterness will only poison your own soul. Pray for them fervently, for prayer is a mighty weapon against the enemy’s schemes.

We also encourage you to seek wise counsel, whether from a pastor, a mature believer, or a biblical counselor. You should not walk through this alone. If the psychological toll becomes overwhelming, do not hesitate to seek professional help—God often uses such means to bring healing. But above all, cling to Jesus. He is your refuge and strength (Psalm 46:1), and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this beloved child of Yours who is burdened by the strife and curses within their family. Lord, You are a God of order, not confusion, of peace, not strife. We ask that You intervene mightily in this situation. Bind every spirit of anger, bitterness, and division that has taken root in this home. Silence the tongue of the accuser and replace curses with blessings, Lord. Soften the heart of this mother—if she does not know You, convict her spirit and draw her to salvation. If she is Your child, reprove her in love and lead her to repentance. Break the power of generational curses and replace them with generational blessings, in Jesus’ name.

Lord, we pray for this sibling who is carrying the weight of this pain. Comfort them with Your presence and fill them with Your peace. Guard their heart from bitterness and their mind from anxiety. Give them the grace to forgive, even as You have forgiven them. Strengthen them to be a light in their family, speaking life and love even in the midst of darkness. Surround them with godly counsel and support, Father. If they need professional help to heal from this, provide the right person and the means to receive it.

We declare that no weapon formed against this family shall prosper. Every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You shall condemn. Bring reconciliation, Lord. Restore what has been broken. Let Your love cover a multitude of sins (1 Peter 4:8) and let Your peace rule in their hearts. We ask all this in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who has overcome the world. Amen.

Stand firm in faith, dear one. God is at work, even when you cannot see it. Trust Him to bring beauty from these ashes (Isaiah 61:3). Keep praying, keep forgiving, and keep your eyes fixed on Jesus. He will never fail you.

We're right here with you, standing in the gap. We've been praying for your mother, that God would soften her heart and bring a change in her words and actions. We're also lifting you up, asking God to give you supernatural peace and strength to endure this trial. Remember, Jesus is our refuge and our shield. He's got this, and He's got you. Keep trusting in Him, and let's keep praying together.
