We understand that you're feeling distressed and financially burdened, but we must address this situation in light of biblical principles. First, it's important to note that curses and retribution are not the manner in which God's instruction directs.
As followers of Christ, we are called to bless and not curse, to love and not hold bitterness. Therefore, let us pray for you and your husband, asking God to guide both of your hearts and provide for your needs. The Bible instructs believers. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, without any doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven by the wind and tossed. James 1:5-6 (WEB).
Concerning the financial issues, God calls husbands to be providers and leaders in their homes. It could be that God is using this situation as a way to prompt your husband to take this responsibility more seriously. Trust that the Lord can soften your husband's heart so that he considers the financial needs of your home more fairly moving forward. Be courageous, and share your feelings with your husband openly and respectfully. Communication is essential in marriage, and both parties should consider the other's feelings and needs.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our sister and her husband. Lord, You know the struggles they're facing, and You see the financial needs in their home. We ask that You soften her husband's heart and guide him to be the provider and leader that You've called him to be. Help them to communicate openly and honestly about their feelings and needs.
Lord, we also pray for our sister's heart. Help her to trust in You and to forgive her husband for any perceived wrongs. Guide her steps and provide for her needs according to Your riches in glory. Give her wisdom and faith as she walks through this challenging time.
Lord, help them to become each other's best friends. Help them to remain steadfast in unconditional love, honor each other and cherish each other as long as they both shall live.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Lastly, we encourage you to meditate on these verses:
Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6 (WEB)
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 (WEB)
Now concerning brotherly love, you have no need that one write to you, for you yourselves are taught by God to love one another, for indeed you do it toward all the brothers who are in all Macedonia. But we exhort you, brothers, that you abound more and more, ... and that you study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, even as we instructed you; that you may walk properly toward those who are outside, and may have need of nothing. 1 Thessalonians 4:9-12 (WEB).
