curses of parents,poverty

Beloved of All
Hello, my parents cursed my with poverty. My whole life was a struggle about finances, please pray for my deliverance and that the Lord blesses my income and I can increase financially and give a lot to the church and the poor and also never be poor again.

We hear your cry for deliverance from the weight of financial struggle, and we stand with you in prayer, believing that our Heavenly Father is both able and willing to break every chain that has bound you. The Word of God declares, "Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us. For it is written, 'Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree,' that the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith" (Galatians 3:13-14 WEB). If there has been any generational curse of poverty spoken over your life, we rebuke it in the mighty name of Jesus. No word spoken in the flesh has power over you when the blood of Jesus covers you. We declare that every curse is broken, and the blessing of Abraham, prosperity, provision, and favor, is yours by faith.

We also want to gently remind you that while financial struggle is real and painful, our ultimate security is not in wealth but in Christ. The Lord warns us, "For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some have been led astray from the faith in their greed, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows" (1 Timothy 6:10 WEB). We pray that as God opens the windows of heaven over your life, your heart remains fixed on Him, not on riches. True prosperity is found in knowing Christ, and from that place of security, all other blessings flow.

We pray now for your deliverance and financial breakthrough. Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister, asking that You would release them from every generational curse of poverty. Let Your blessing overtake them in every area of their life, spirit, soul, and finances. Open doors of opportunity that no man can shut, and give them wisdom to steward every resource You entrust to them. May their hands be blessed to be a blessing, so they can give generously to Your kingdom and to those in need. We declare that lack has no place in their life, and we speak abundance, multiplication, and overflow. Let their testimony be one of Your faithfulness, and may their life reflect Your glory. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to stand on God’s promises daily. Meditate on Scriptures like Philippians 4:19, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus," and Deuteronomy 8:18, "But you shall remember Yahweh your God, for it is he who gives you power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he swore to your fathers, as it is today." Walk in faith, not fear, and trust that God is working even when you don’t see it. If there are areas in your life where you may have partnered with fear or unbelief regarding finances, we encourage you to renounce those mindsets and replace them with God’s truth.

Lastly, we want to ensure that your faith is firmly rooted in Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and the power to overcome every curse. If you have not already, we invite you to surrender your life fully to Jesus, confessing Him as Lord and believing in your heart that God raised Him from the dead (Romans 10:9). There is no other name by which we can be saved or delivered. If you have already made this commitment, we rejoice with you and encourage you to continue growing in your relationship with Him. He is your provider, your deliverer, and your peace.

We hear the ache in your words, the sense that something like a curse was spoken over your life, and that poverty has been a constant, heavy companion. That is a profound hurt. When a parent’s blessing, that spoken gift of value and hope, is withheld or twisted, it can leave a deep inner story that you’ll always be without. We are truly sorry that you’ve walked under that shadow for so long.

In Scripture, a father’s blessing wasn’t just words; it carried the weight of genuine commitment and a picture of a special future. Not receiving that can indeed create a well of anger, fear failure, and a kind of poverty of the heart as well as the wallet. But here is what has brought hope to many who’ve felt similarly: God’s blessing over you is not limited by what your earthly parents gave or didn’t give. Right now, he speaks over you words of high value, you are his beloved child, the work of his hands, and he has a future for you that is not defined by scarcity.

Sometimes it helps to receive that blessing in a physical way. You might ask a pastor, elder, or a mature Christian you trust to lay hands on you and intentionally speak God’s blessing over your life, affirming who you are in Christ, the unique gifts he has planted in you, and the provision he can unfold through your work. It’s a simple, biblical act that can begin to replace the old message with truth.

As you pray, we’d also encourage you to take a practical step alongside prayer: invite a financially wise believer or a deacon to walk with you, helping you create a sustainable plan. God often uses good stewardship and the support of his people to bring steady increase.

Jesus, we ask you to break the power of every word that has shaped a sense of poverty and shame. Let your Father’s heart rest on our friend. Open doors for stable income, and heal the wound of feeling cursed. Grant them the joy of giving out of a secure abundance. In your name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

God, please forever honor this prayer over each of our lives. God Thank You. Amen, so be it by faith, and by faith, it is so

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You have felt the sting of a parent’s cruel word, a whispered curse that poverty would be your lot. But hear the word of the Lord: “I will save you and you shall be a blessing.” No curse of man can stand against the blessing of God in Christ Jesus. He has redeemed us from the curse of the Law, being made a curse for us. At Calvary the rock was lifted and cast away, and the stream of blessing flows freely down. If you are in Him, there is no curse for the believer, every blessing awaits you.

Yet do not mistake the nature of the poverty that most needs deliverance. The deepest destitution is of the soul, not the purse. He blesses you just where you need blessing, where you are poorest in spiritual things. Seek first to be blessed yourself, for until He says, “I will bless you,” it cannot be said, “You shall be a blessing.” Cry to Him who alone can turn the curse: “I have been a curse, I admit it. I lament it. Make me a blessing, Lord.”

This deliverance came when the Lamb was slain. Pharaoh thought to grind Israel down to abject poverty, but the Lord turned the curse into a blessing, and He brought them forth with silver and gold. Trust the same mighty hand for your temporal needs. He knows your frame; He will not suffer you to starve. But do not measure His blessing by the weight of your coin. The blessing of Joseph was fruitfulness, even when archers shot at him. You desire to give to the church and the poor, this is a noble fruit of grace, but you cannot give what you have not yet received. First be filled, that you may overflow. Be a blessing yourself, and then blessing will flow through you to others.

You speak of a parent’s curse. But what of the curse our sins deserved? Christ was made a curse for us, though He knew no sin. Now, for the believer, the curse is swallowed up in blessing. Let your hands be strong; fear not. The clock of mercy struck in Heaven the hour of your deliverance when the eternal purpose of Jehovah decreed it. Go on blessing God from this hour. It should be your life to bless Him who gave you life. He will meet you at the brook Jabbok, where you wrestle in fear, and cause your Esau to fall on your neck and kiss you. May His own blessing rest upon you, for Jesus’ sake. Amen.

You say your parents cursed you with poverty, so your whole life has been a struggle. But I ask you, what is poverty in the light of Christ? Our Lord, though He possessed all riches, emptied Himself and became poor for your sake, that through His poverty you might become rich. If you believe that poverty is a curse, look upon the cross; for had He not become poor, you would never have gained true wealth.

Under the old covenant, poverty was often seen as shame and want, but now all is made new. The Beatitudes do not say, “Blessed are the wealthy,” but “Blessed are the poor in spirit.” Even if you are a beggar, a slave, or unknown, there is nothing to prevent you from being blessed if you pursue virtue. The curse you fear has no power over a soul that clings to Christ. God did not make poverty an evil; it becomes a fountain of countless blessings to those who are self-controlled and thankful. It teaches temperance, faith, and reliance on His providence. Paul learned to be content in every state, and so can you.

Do not tremble at empty pockets; rather, tremble at the love of money, which drowns men in destruction. God knows you need food and clothing. Consider the birds and the grass: not by your own striving, but by His care, you are fed. Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and these things will be added. The parent’s curse cannot overturn the blessing of adoption you have received in baptism, where you put on Christ and received the Spirit of sonship. No word spoken against you can stand before the blessing of the Father.

If you desire to give to the church and the poor, this is a noble longing. Yet do not wait until you have much; the widow’s two mites were a greater gift than the rich men’s abundance. Give from what you have, and God will see your heart. The true increase is not silver and gold, but the riches of grace stored up for the world to come. There, your treasure will never diminish, but increase forever.

So I urge you: cease to call poverty a curse, and instead embrace it as a teacher. Let this struggle be a school for your soul, where you learn to depend on God alone. He who did not spare His own Son will with Him freely give you all things needful for this life. But set your hope fully on the grace to be brought at the revelation of Christ, and you will find that neither poverty nor any other trial can separate you from His love.

The ache of a parent’s words can cling to a life for decades, weaving itself into every disappointment. Financial strain month after month can feel like living under a locked sky. But I want you to see what God’s Word declares about every curse that comes against you when you belong to Jesus Christ.

The only curse that carries eternal weight is the curse of the law, the death sentence God’s righteousness pronounces on all who fall short of perfect obedience. That curse is real and just, but it has already fallen. It fell on Christ when He hung on the cross. He became a curse for us, because it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree.” The thorns they pressed into His brow were a picture of the curse on the ground itself, borne for our sin. Through His poverty, He purchased our riches, not just spiritual riches, but the full blessing of Abraham, which includes every provision for life.

Here is the breathtaking exchange: Jesus stepped under the curse so that you could receive the blessing. When you put your faith in Him, you were lifted out from under that condemnation and sealed with the promised Holy Spirit. No parent, no enemy, no witch doctor’s enchantment can successfully curse someone God has determined to bless. Scripture tells us plainly that a curse without cause will never land. If you are in Christ, there is no cause left for a curse of poverty to cling to you. The words your parents spoke, however painful, were spoken against someone who has now been hidden in the finished work of the cross.

What remains is for you to live in what is already true. You are not under an old covenant of blessings for perfect behavior and curses for failure. You relate to God now through the new covenant in Jesus Christ. He has set you in the place of blessing, not because you earned it, but because He became the curse for you. So when thoughts of that old word surface, you can answer them with the very words of Scripture: Christ has redeemed me from every curse. I am blessed with all the blessings that were promised to Abraham. My basket and my kneading bowl, my income and my day-to-day provision, are under a word of grace, not a word of doom.

I do pray for your financial breakthrough, and I join your desire to see increase so you can give generously to the church and to the poor. That is the heart of the redeemed. God loves to supply seed to the sower. But the foundation lies in knowing that He has already broken the back of every curse. Receive what Jesus has done. Refuse to own a poverty mindset that your parents’ words tried to lay on you. As you walk in that truth, pray boldly for His provision to flow, for unexpected favour, and for wisdom with every dollar. May you see the curse reversed in practical, overflowing ways, so that your own story becomes a living testimony of the blessing that replaces the thorns.

Father, thank You that Jesus hung on the tree to take the curse of sin against us. I ask You to open this dear one’s eyes to the full reality of that redemption. Uproot every lie that says they are fated to lack. Pour out Your blessing on their income, open doors of opportunity, and release a supernatural increase so that they may be a cheerful giver and never again know the grip of grinding poverty. In the name of Jesus, who became poor that we might become rich in Your grace. Amen.

We want to thank you for the trust you placed in us by sharing your heart and allowing us to stand with you in prayer. It has been our privilege to lift your request before the Lord, asking Him to break every generational curse of poverty that has been spoken over your life. We have prayed earnestly that the chains of financial struggle would be shattered, and that God’s abundant provision would flow into your life in ways that bring glory to His name.

We believe that our Heavenly Father hears the cries of His children, and we have asked Him to open the windows of heaven over you, blessing your income and enabling you to walk in financial freedom. We have also prayed that as He pours out His blessings, your heart would be filled with a spirit of generosity, so that you may give joyfully to the work of the church and to those in need, just as He has given to you.

If the Lord has already moved in your situation and you are seeing His hand at work, we would love to hear your praise report so that we may rejoice with you. If you are still waiting and longing to see His promises fulfilled, we encourage you to post this request again so that we may continue to stand in agreement with you. We will not grow weary in praying for your breakthrough, for we know that God is faithful to His word.

May the Lord continue to draw you closer to Himself as you seek His face. May He fill you with peace and assurance that He is your Provider, your Deliverer, and your ever-present help in times of need. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
