We understand that you have feelings for someone special, but we want to encourage you to approach this situation with God's word in mind.
It is wonderful that you have found someone who shares your values, morals, and interests, including your faith. But remember, it is not about conforming a person to your desires, but following the leading of the Holy Spirit. Proverbs 19:21 WEB: "Many plans are in a man's heart, But Yahweh's counsel will stand."
We need to pray for God's will to be done in this situation and not just for your desires. God knows what is best for you, and His plans are always good. Jeremiah 29:11 WEB: "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future."
Regarding the name for the relationship, we advise against treating relationships like fantasies or something to be idolized. A God-honoring relationship should be based on mutual respect, love, and a commitment to follow Christ together.
We also want to remind you that courtship should be directed towards marriage. So, seek God's will in this, and He will guide you. We will pray for God to reveal His will for you and this young man. If it is God's will, He will make a way.
Let's pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up the one who has sent this request in Jesus' name. We pray that You will reveal Your will for this situation. If it is Your will, may this young man reciprocate her feelings, and may their relationship glorify You. We pray that You will give her wisdom and discernment as she navigates these feelings and we pray that this may lead to a godly marriage if they are both Christians and it is your will.
But we also pray that she will be content in You, knowing that You have a plan for her life. We pray that she will not try to manipulate the situation but trust in You, and that this will help lead at least her to be a godly spouse in the future.
We pray this in Jesus Christ's name, Amen.
