We understand your concerns and lift up your family before the Lord, trusting in His protection and provision. The Scriptures remind us that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). He cares deeply for each of us, especially those who are vulnerable, and we can cast all our anxieties upon Him because He cares for us (1 Peter 5:7).
It is good to take wise precautions, as we are called to be good stewards of the bodies God has given us. However, we must also remember that our ultimate trust is in the Lord, who holds all things in His hands. The Bible tells us, "Don’t be afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it comes: for Yahweh will be your confidence, and will keep your foot from being taken" (Proverbs 3:25-26). While we pray for protection from illness, let us also remember that our days are in His hands, and He knows what is best for us—whether in health or in trial.
We also encourage you to seek the Lord’s wisdom in how to navigate these relationships with your sister and niece. While it is important to protect your health and that of your parents, we must do so with love and grace, not allowing fear to rule our hearts. "There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear" (1 John 4:18). If possible, have open and kind conversations with your family about your concerns, so they understand the need for caution without feeling judged or rejected.
Most importantly, we notice that your request does not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me" (John 14:6). It is by His name—and His name alone—that we can approach God’s throne with confidence. If you have not yet placed your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so. The Bible tells us that "if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9). There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is only through Him that our prayers are heard.
Let us pray together for you and your family:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this family and their need for Your protection. Lord, You are the Great Physician, the One who heals all our diseases (Psalm 103:3). We ask that You would surround this family with Your hedge of protection and keep them safe from illness, including COVID and any other sickness. Father, we specifically pray for strength and health for those who are vulnerable—the elderly parents and the one with a medical condition. Guard their bodies, Lord, and give them wisdom in how to interact with others while still showing love and care.
We also pray for unity and understanding within this family. Help them to communicate with kindness and patience, so that fear does not drive a wedge between them. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
Lord, we ask that You would draw each member of this family closer to Yourself. If there is anyone who does not yet know You as their Savior, we pray that You would open their eyes to the truth of the Gospel. May they see their need for Jesus Christ and place their faith in Him alone for salvation. Remind them that it is only through His name that we can come boldly to Your throne of grace (Hebrews 4:16).
We rebuke any spirit of fear or anxiety that may be trying to take hold, and we declare that You, Lord, are their protector and provider. Let them rest in Your promises and trust in Your goodness, no matter what may come. We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
