Courting

Dhitlor

Good and Faithful Servant
I'm currently in a courtship with someone. Please pray for God to bless our union, keep us from temptation and bless and take care of us and our loved ones. There was something else I wanted to say but I can't remember it now. Thank you.

We rejoice with you in this season of courtship, a time of intentional pursuit toward the sacred covenant of marriage. The Word of God reminds us, "He who finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor from Yahweh" (Proverbs 18:22). We lift up your union before the Lord, asking that He guide your steps, align your hearts, and establish your foundation on Christ alone.

Father, we pray for protection over this courtship. Guard their minds and bodies from temptation, for Your Word warns, "Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers" (Hebrews 13:4). Strengthen their commitment to purity, both in action and in thought, that they may honor You in this season. May they flee from every appearance of evil and cling to what is righteous.

We also ask that You bless and watch over their loved ones, families, friends, and all who are dear to them. Provide for their needs, surround them with Your peace, and draw them closer to You. May this courtship be a testimony of Your faithfulness, reflecting Your love and grace to all who witness it.

If there was something else weighing on your heart, we trust the Holy Spirit will bring it to remembrance in due time. Until then, we stand in agreement with you, declaring that God’s will be done in this relationship. May He lead you both into a marriage that glorifies Him, built on the rock of Christ Jesus.

Lord, we thank You for the gift of marriage, a reflection of Your covenant love for Your people. May this couple grow in wisdom, patience, and love as they seek Your face together. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

We love that you’re walking through this season with intentionality, and we’re standing with you in prayer as you seek God’s best together. Courtship is a unique and tender time, a chance to build a foundation not just for a wedding, but for a lifetime of mutual love, honesty, and service. It’s encouraging that your heart is already turned toward guarding purity and inviting God into the center of whatever unfolds.

One simple practice that often helps is to carve out a little space each week to pause and talk with each other about what you’re learning from Scripture personally, not as a lesson, but as a window into how God is shaping each of you. That kind of vulnerability can deepen trust and help both of you stay grounded. And it’s a gift when you have a couple you both respect, maybe an older married couple in your church, who can occasionally check in, ask the awkward questions, and cheer you on. We don’t walk this path well in isolation.

Also, it’s entirely all right that something slipped your mind. The Lord knows the unspoken thing in your heart even now, and He carries it with perfect care.

We ask You, Father, to guide this couple with Your steady hand. Give them clarity in their decisions, joy in their time together, and self-control in moments of pressure. Surround their courtship with friends and family who will speak truth and encouragement. Bless their loved ones with peace and provision, and let every step of this journey draw both of them closer to Jesus. We entrust them to Your keeping. Amen.

Go to the Lord with thanksgiving, blessing Him for the mercy that has brought you together. Yet remember that the first blessing must be personal, "I will bless you", before it can be said, "You shall be a blessing." Seek the cleansing of your own heart from all idols, lest any affection displace the supremacy of Christ. A courtship entered into with sincere faith can honor God, but only if you walk in His statutes and not in the counsel of the ungodly.

You ask to be kept from temptation. Then never go into temptation. The man who prays "Lead us not into temptation" and then goes into it is a liar before God. Guard your steps, your hours, your private moments. Flee from every appearance of evil. Do not bitterly condemn others who have fallen, but pray again and again, "Lead us not into temptation," for you might have done worse had you been there. Let the Word of God dwell in you richly, and let your time together be marked by prayer and holy conversation rather than by that which stirs up the flesh.

Long to be a blessing wherever God has placed you. Are you not brought together that you might be a blessing to each other’s families, to the household of faith, and to a perishing world? Let your union breathe a testimony to Christ. Do not rest satisfied until you have the inward witness that you are indeed a blessing. And let the double blessing of grace and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ be your continual cry. May Christ Himself be the bond of your affection, and may you never stain your garments, but stand fast at the end of the day.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

🙏Prayer Focus: God, Thank You for loving me. Thank You for loving me, Jesus. God, I ask You in Jesus’ name please bless me with everything that I stand in need of and everything You want me to have. God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the love, grace, wisdom, and knowledge of Christ Jesus. God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to know You, so that I can trust You with all my heart, acknowledge You in all my ways, and lean not to my own understanding. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God-conscious-solution-focused-heart-mind-spirit-and-attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about. God, please forever honor this prayer over each of our lives. God Thank You. Amen, so be it by faith, and by faith, it is so

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You speak of a blessing upon your courtship, but consider what it is you truly seek. The Apostle speaks of the "cup of blessing which we bless" as a communion of the Blood of Christ, a thanksgiving that unfolds all the treasure of God's goodness. That blessing is spiritual, not carnal. The old blessing ran, "He will bless the fruit of thy body," but the blessing of the Gospel is "every spiritual blessing." You are made a brother, a fellow-heir, one who reigns with Christ. When you aim at that, you must stand aloof from carnal things. The blessing you long for in this union must first be rooted in that higher thanksgiving, lest your love remain earthly and your prayer a grasping after what perishes.

You ask for God to keep you from temptation, and this is good. For no temptation has taken you but such as is common to man, and God is faithful, who will with the temptation make a way of escape. But know that the way is narrow. The love Christ requires is a fire cast upon the earth, warm and vehement. It is a love that does not run again to the tables of idols after blessing God for deliverance. Examine your courtship: is it a communion of holy purpose, or does it stir a flame you are not yet free to tend? To die is not evil, but to die an evil death is; so too, to love is not evil, but to love outside the boundary God has set is to invite peril for both body and soul.

Do not seek first a blessing on the union as though it were an end in itself. Seek rather to be kindly affectioned with brotherly love, in honor preferring one another, without dissimulation, intense and glowing, yet always subject to the obedience of the Gospel. For even Jacob obtained the blessing, yet did not enjoy it in this life; his days were few and evil, his brother prospered, and the promises ripened in the world to come. So it may be with you. If this courtship leads to a godly marriage, the fruit will be sure in its time, but the crown belongs to those who abide unmoved through trials like sleet, offering thanksgiving for all. Pray then that you both become worthy of the "fulness of the blessing," abounding in every good deed, so that when an account is required, you may be found with honor, not having taken by violence what God has not yet given.

It is good that you are seeking the Lord's guidance and blessing in this season of courtship. When two people commit their way to the Lord, they are placing themselves under the same covenant of grace that God spoke to Abraham long ago, a promise that in blessing He will bless. That blessing does not come because we have earned it or because we are strong enough to resist every temptation in our own power. It comes through faith in Jesus Christ, who has brought us into the family of God and made us heirs of every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places. In Him you have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, and the seal of the Holy Spirit. These are the unshakable realities that hold steady no matter what a relationship faces. So when you pray for God to bless your union, you are asking Him to pour out what He has already promised, not because your courtship is perfect, but because Christ alone makes you accepted before the Father.

Your request to be kept from temptation touches something we all understand. Temptation is not sin, but it is the point where we decide whether to walk after the flesh or after the Spirit. In courtship, the enemy will whisper shortcuts, offering immediate gratification if you step off the path of purity. Yet that voice leads only to a curse, not a blessing. The testing of your faith in this area is not meant to destroy you; it works patience. And patience is exactly what you need right now, the kind that waits on the Lord's timing and refuses to harden the heart when His ways seem slow. Remember that no temptation has overtaken you except what is common to everyone, and Jesus, your great High Priest, understands every pressure you face. He did not yield to the tempter's offer of the kingdoms of the world without the cross, and He can strengthen you to resist when the temptation comes to take the easy way instead of the holy way.

As you move forward, guard against the snare of seeking blessing through human cunning or emotional pressure. The old story of Jacob and Esau shows that chasing a blessing by manipulation, even if you know it is God’s will for you, brings sorrow and confusion. Isaac tried to give the blessing based on a savory meal, his natural appetite, but God’s purpose stood firm. Walk in such a way that you do not try to force what only the Lord can bring to pass in His time. Let the foundation of your relationship be the shared inheritance you have in Christ, not the strength of your feelings at any moment. And as you receive His blessing, expect it. Not because you deserve it, but because His love is extravagant and He delights to give good things to His children. Your life can become so filled with His blessing you will hardly know how to contain it, but that abundance is meant to spill over. Take whatever encouragement, provision, or peace He gives you and share it with those around you, including the loved ones you mentioned. Pray for them, serve them, and let the gospel flow through your courtship as a testimony.

I join you in praying that God will guard you both, that He will keep you from evil and that your bond will honor Him in every way. May His blessing overtake you in the city and in the field, that is, in the ordinary places of daily life and in the quiet hours where no one else sees. Set your hearts on obeying His Word with all your heart, and trust that the blessing He has promised to those who love Him will be your portion.

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer during this special time of courtship. It has been our joy to lift you, your relationship, and your loved ones before the Lord, asking Him to bless your union, guard you from temptation, and surround you both with His care and protection.

As the days have passed, we continue to trust in God’s perfect timing and plan for your lives. If He has already answered your prayers in ways you’ve seen or felt, we would be so encouraged to hear your praise report—let us rejoice together in His faithfulness! If you feel your requests are still unfolding or if new concerns have arisen, please don’t hesitate to share them again. We are here to stand with you in agreement, believing with you for God’s best.

May the Lord deepen your trust in Him as you seek His will together, and may He draw you both closer to each other and to His heart. We pray this in Jesus’ Name.
