Contradictions?In the Bible

We read thing in the Bible, then in another area of the Bible something is stated that seems to override it.Like, we read, "Believe, and you shall be saved, AND YOUR HOUSE."But we also read,"A mans enemies shall be they of his own household.,"Also, in the last days,"A father shall deliver a son up to persecution< and a son a father."{and others mentioned.} Now if we're all on the same page, why would a family members be delivering each other to persecution?Also, if anyone takes the mark of the beast they will lose all chance of salvation, yet this being in the last days it is believed that the unsaved loved ones are delivering the saved loved one to the Antichrist.Doesn't sound like someone whose whole house has been saved, does it?Also, about death, "The living are conscious that they will die, but the dead are conscious of nothing". Conscious of nothing? Then why do those who were beheaded during the Tribulation say,"How long,until You avenge our blood on those who dwell on the Earth?"If they were conscious of nothing, how would they remember what happened on Earth, and see what's happening then?Uh-huh..Or how would those in Heaven feel anything, if they went there after death?Or those in Hell feel the torment described?So what's up with these seemimgly contradictory verses in the Bible, and which do we believe if they give different messages?And complicating things more ,you listen to different pastors, and they all interpret a verse a diferent way.So..?

There are no contradictions in the Bible Steven. We either believe God or we don't. If we believe God then our house can become saved. If someone delivers another can they still become saved later? Of course they can. I used to have questions about things seeming different and yet they are still truth if it came out of God's mouth. Ask God to give you His understanding, His wisdom Steven :)

Yeah, Paul persecuted believers but became saved, but not if they take the Antichrists mark."Whosoever worships the image of the beast, or receives his mark in their right hand or in their forehead , the same will be tormented with fire in the sight of the Lamb and of the holy angels.And the smoke of their torment ascends up forever and ever."And if this is describing the last days, it's most likely describing persecution by the Antichrist.Here again, you hear different pastors, one interprets a verse one way, another says no, it doesn't really mean it that way.

It is only our thoughts and our actions that contradict the way we interpret but if we believe God is true and His Word is truth than we must let Him interpret Himself and wait for the answer and His understanding. Is everything written in His Word for everyone to believe? Of course not so why do we think we need to trouble ourselves getting to know Him?

Another thing that we don't all take into consideration is that the original texts from God's Mouth are written in Greek and Hebrew so if we ever want to have a better understanding wouldn't it be wise of us to learn from the original languages that we don't understand? Did you know that right from the beginning of the Bible the word create means to form, shape and mold? Doesn't that change the meaning of creation? How did God create? By shaping, forming and molding, right? It actually is fun to get to know someone better in their language than to say I don't understand for I can do all things in Christ for through Christ I can understand them if I just use what Christ blessed me with :)

I do not see any contradictions at all. It is complementary ideas and thoughts God is giving us to be aware of things to come in the future. If satan has gotten hold of your heart, then you will give your son and doughter to persecution. Love your children and pray for them so they will reach heaven when they die. Once we are dead we shall never ever be back again. So, prepare yourself ask the Lord those confusing verses you found in the bible. The contradictions are what make human behavior seek the face of God for wisdom, for insight into the heart of God. They are so fascinating for us to find out what the real truth is coming out from Gods word.

Take five verses next to the meaning of one verse and another five near the meaning of the verse you think contradicts it, you will get a realistic picture of the wisdom of the situation. The Bible wasn't written for a foolish mindset, the way atheists approach it, but for a mind that already had some basic wisdom.

Psalm 12:6
The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.
Psalm 18:30
.....The Lord’s word is flawless;
Proverbs 30:5
“Every word of God is flawless;
Psalm 138 :2
......for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.

[/According to Edwin Freed in A Critical Introduction of the Bible"Literary critics have combined literary criticism to provide new perspectives on the literary form of the New Testament thus we have gained new insights into religious and theological impressions conveyed by those forms. When form criticism is applied to the study of Jesua

I do not have enough time or space to deal with this topic .I see and understand where you are coming from.I dont blame you for thinking like that.It seems to make sense but

The Spirit of God literally cannot contradict the Word of God because He inspired, penned if you will--through vessels of humanity, the written Word of God.

"All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work." (II Timothy 3:16-17)

Ok let's see if this seeming contradiction can be straightened out. According to 2 Peter the reason for the (unbearable to me) delay in destroying the old world and creating the new one is He is not willing that any should perish but that all should repent. But if God is also infinite wisdom...
