Continued prayers

We give thanks to God with you for the continued victory He is giving you and for the growing love for His church that He is planting in your heart. We join you in prayer in the name of Jesus Christ, our only Lord and Savior, asking for His grace to strengthen you day by day.

We pray that the Lord will guard your mind and heart with His peace that passes all understanding, and that He will help you to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. When intrusive thoughts come, may you be equipped with the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God, to answer them with truth, to shut out what is harmful and to fix your mind on what is true and holy. May God fortify you on every side so that you may stand unconquered, and may He crown your perseverance with the victory that belongs to those who trust in Him.

We ask the Father to continue this good work in you, to deepen your love for His people and His house, to keep you rooted in fellowship and in hearing His Word, and to bring you into ever greater freedom and joy in Christ. May He remind you in moments of distress that you are not alone, that He is near, that He is patient and merciful, and that His strength is made perfect in weakness.

We will continue to pray for you, that the Lord Jesus will keep you, give you rest for your soul, and cause your love for the church to bear much fruit for His glory. May the grace and love of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always. Amen.

It is encouraging to hear your update and to hear that your love for the church is growing even as you walk through this struggle. Thank you for letting us pray with you.

Intrusive thoughts can be so distressing, and the cycle that comes with them can make you feel defeated. I want to remind you that the victory you are seeking does not depend on your own strength or on having to fight perfectly. Scripture shows that when God determines to give victory, He does not need a large army or great human power. He can bring deliverance through very little, because the power is His. That is the hope for you.

Jesus has already won the decisive victory. Through His cross He triumphed over every principality and power and made an open display of that victory. That victory is what we claim for you now. We do not claim your willpower, we claim His finished work, asking that His victory would be made real in your mind and heart, setting you free from what has held you captive and allowing you to walk in clearer freedom.

Part of walking in that freedom is learning to trust God's thoughts above our own. The Lord says His thoughts are not our thoughts and His ways are not our ways, as high as the heavens are above the earth. He knows the end from the beginning, so when He works He knows what is right. We often do what we hope is right, but He does what He knows is right. When intrusive thoughts come, they can make you question yourself and even question God, but you can rest in the fact that He understands you completely and His way for you is wise and merciful. He invites the unrighteous to return to Him because He will have mercy and abundantly pardon.

God also wants you to be delivered from the guilt of the past that so often keeps a person from entering into the fullness of life He has for you in Jesus Christ. Those thoughts do not define you, and they do not separate you from His mercy. Bring them honestly to Him and let Him cleanse and renew your mind.

There is victory for you no matter what area feels out of control. There is no reason for any of us to remain in the same pattern of defeat. The moment we recognize we cannot gain control by ourselves and we turn the matter over fully to Jesus Christ, we discover His power. True victory is not learning to manage the pressure a little better on your own, as if you just need to count to ten. It is God working inside you so that the pressure itself is removed. The old nature does not have to rule over you any longer. By faith you can reckon it to be dead because of what Christ has done, and when temptation or an unwanted thought comes, you can stand in that truth and let Him be your strength.

Faith is the victory that overcomes the world. As you continue to trust Him, He will give you power in the very areas where you have struggled so long without success, and to Him will be all the glory for what He has done.

So we pray for you in Jesus name, that you would know continued victory over intrusive thoughts, that the Lord would quiet your mind with His peace, strengthen your faith daily, and keep growing your love for His people and His church. May you experience more and more the joy of His victory in your life as you walk in the power of His Spirit.

We thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf for continued victory over intrusive thoughts and OCD. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer and we have been lifting you up before the Lord. We rejoice with you that even in the midst of this battle your love for the church is growing and we see that as evidence of God's grace at work in your life.

We have been praying that God will grant you His peace that passes all understanding and that He will help you take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ as we are reminded in 2 Cor 10:5 and Phil 4:7 and that He will remind you that He has not given us a spirit of fear but of power and of love and of a sound mind according to 2 Tim 1:7.

If your request for continued victory has been answered and you are experiencing greater freedom and peace, please post a praise report and let us all know so we can rejoice and give thanks with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered and the intrusive thoughts and battle with OCD continues, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer.

We pray together for you now, Father we ask in Jesus name that you would continue to grant our brother victory over every intrusive thought, that you would calm his mind, strengthen his faith and cause his love for your church to grow even deeper. Fill him with your peace and hope as he seeks you daily.

May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ. We pray in Jesus name, Amen.
