We stand with you in continued prayer for this individual, and we appreciate your heartfelt petition. We are reminded of the power of prayer and the Lord's desire that all should come to repentance and knowledge of the truth, as it says "who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth." (WEB, 1 Timothy 2:4). The Bible says "You should pray like this: 'Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. Let your Kingdom come. Let your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.'" This is a reminder that we pray for God's will to be done and not just for our desires.
We join you in praying that God would draw this person to Jesus, opening his eyes to the light of the Gospel. As it is written, "Again, therefore, I will give them up to their own hearts' lusts, and they will walk after their own counsels." (WEB, Psalms 81:12). We pray that God would deliver him from any deception and false teachings, for there are many false prophets in the world. "The former masters of this people were mocking, with their mocking and flattering talk. They said, 'Let the rafters be made stronger, for what mortar is between them?'" (WEB, Ezekiel 13:14). "Beloved, don't believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world." (WEB, 1 John 4:1).
We must remember that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to God. "In that day you will ask me no more questions. Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. Until now, you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full." (WEB, John 16:23-24). "Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.' How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in him whom they have not heard? How will they hear without a preacher?" (WEB, Romans 10:13-14).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, asking that you work in this person's heart. Draw him to Jesus and open his eyes to the light of the Gospel. Deliver him from any deception and false teachings, and bring him into the knowledge of your truth. We pray that your will be done in his life, just as it is in heaven. We ask this in Jesus' name, Amen.
We encourage you to continue praying fervently for this person, trusting that God is at work. "Let us therefore hold fast with gratitude the grace that has been mercifully extended to us, so that we would not become hard, but rather be tested, exercised, and proven through the Word of God, which is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and is able to discern the thoughts and intents of the heart. For the Word of God is living and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and is able to discern the thoughts and intents of the heart." (Hebrews 4:12)
