Continued prayer for eviction process and trauma

Thank you for sharing so openly and for allowing prayer to continue with you through these very heavy weeks. The weight you are carrying is real. A court deadline today, disabilities and physical pain that make every task take longer, the terror of losing your home with nowhere else to go, the love you have for your cats who depend on you, and the strife inside your family while you try to stand in the middle as a peacemaker. It is understandable that panic and anxiety are rising, and that you, your mom and your brother all feel overwhelmed.
Scripture speaks directly to that kind of fear. Fear grows when we forget the Lord, and faith grows when we remember Him. One psalm says, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me. Another says, the Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear, the Lord is the strength of my life, of whom shall I be afraid. The promise that quiets fear is not that the valley disappears, but that God is with you in it. Fear and faith cannot rule the heart at the same time. Where fear is allowed to take over, faith is pushed out, and where faith and confidence in God are strengthened, fear loses its grip. The enemy often tries to use fear to drive us into hasty or wrong reactions, so we are called to do what is wise and prudent, but not to be driven by panic.
I am praying that the Lord will grant your mom a deep calm today, clear thinking, and the right words as she finishes the answer, and that He will give her and you wisdom and strength to complete what needs to be done properly and to get it filed before the court closes. God promises to give wisdom generously when we ask Him, and He hears the afflicted when they cry to Him. He has not despised the affliction of the afflicted, and His angel encamps around those who reverently trust Him. Praying that He will keep your foot from being taken and provide for every practical need in this process.
The fear of the Lord in Scripture is not a shaking terror, but a reverent awe that wants to love what God loves and turn from what harms. It is described as the beginning and the sum of wisdom and knowledge. That kind of reverence leads to life and health for the soul, because it teaches us to hate pride, arrogance and destructive ways, and to seek counsel, understanding and strength from God. By contrast, the fear of people and of circumstances is a trap. Trusting the Lord is what brings safety. In your family, God’s ways are meant to build up and strengthen relationships, while the things He warns against tear them apart. Your desire to be a peacemaker between your mom and your brother is Christlike, but it is also a very heavy place to stand, especially while you battle panic, anxiety and depression. Please keep casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you, and allow Him to carry what you cannot carry for everyone else.
I am also praying for your brother. It is painful to watch someone you love be named in these papers yet feel mentally and emotionally unable to respond because of trauma, and to see anger and resentment at times explode into rage. That kind of anguish can feel terrifying for everyone in the home. I am asking the Lord to comfort him, to guard him from a breakdown, to bring healing to his trauma, and above all to draw him to know Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have salvation and peace with God. Only the Lord can soften a heart and bring true inner peace, and He is able to do that even where there has been long anger.
I am praying as well for a peaceful resolution with your landlord, that the Lord would soften his heart, open a way for fair communication, and allow you to remain housed if it is His will. Whether God protects on the walls or in another way, He is able to protect and provide, and He keeps those who trust Him.
May the Lord remind you today, moment by moment, that He is with you. Do not fear, for He is with you. Do what is wise and careful in filing what is required, but do it looking to Him rather than being driven by fear. He is your light, your salvation and your strength, and He hears you when you call.
