Silas
Beloved of All
Your confidence in the Word of God and your turning from sin to put your trust in Jesus Christ alone is the right foundation for every other need. It is encouraging to hear you declare that you will live and not die to declare the works of the Lord, and that you are looking to Him as the Lord who heals and to what He accomplished for you on the cross.
Scripture gives us strong ground for bringing physical needs to Jesus. When Matthew describes Jesus going through Galilee healing every disease and sickness, and the crowds bringing those with severe pain, seizures, paralysis and oppression, he connects it directly to Isaiah where it says He bore our infirmities and carried our sicknesses. That shows the suffering of Christ was not only for forgiveness of sin but also for the healing of the body. When Jesus broke the bread and said this is my body broken for you, He was inviting us to remember that provision. So you are right to bring seizures, heart trouble, reflux and every other affliction to Him, whether it has a clear name or not, and to ask in the name of Jesus which is above every other name.
At the same time the Bible keeps us from presuming that God wills instant and complete healing in every case in this life. Paul prayed three times for his thorn in the flesh, described as a messenger of Satan to buffet him, and God did not remove it. There is much about healing we do not understand, including why some are healed quickly and others are not. The Gospels record one healing that came gradually, when Jesus laid His hands on a blind man and his sight returned in stages, and that reminds us that God heals in different ways. Sometimes it is immediate, sometimes it is a gradual process, and sometimes it comes through the natural processes He has built into our bodies. Any true healing, however it comes, is from Him and is divine, and that includes healing in the mind and emotions as well as the body. Not everyone is given the same gift of healing, for the body of Christ has many members with different gifts, but we can all pray and trust Him.
You also mention anxiety and fear, and Scripture speaks directly to that. The spiritual world is as real as the physical world, and fear often grows when we forget the Lord and focus only on what we can see and feel. The repeated word of God to His people when He breaks silence is fear not, for I am with you. I will help you and strengthen you and uphold you. David said that remembering the Lord is the cure for fear, and faith and fear work against each other. Where faith is nourished, fear loses its hold. One way faith is nourished is by feeding the spiritual life as carefully as we feed the physical life. Prayer and time in the Word strengthen the inner person, while at times setting aside physical comforts helps the spiritual person grow stronger. When Daniel set his heart to understand and to humble himself before God, his words were heard from the first day, though the answer came later. God was at work even in the waiting.
That connection between the inner life and the body is also seen in the wish John expressed that a believer would prosper and be in good health even as his soul prospers. That is not a blanket promise that everyone will be healthy, but it shows there is a real relationship between the health of the soul and the health of the body. A joyful heart does good like a medicine, while anxiety and distress can harm the body. Growing in reverence for the Lord, which is the beginning of wisdom and knowledge, not a cringing dread but a deep awe at who He is and a desire to love what He loves and hate what He hates, brings steadiness to the soul.
Jesus has authority in every realm, over sickness, over the material world, and over evil spiritual powers. Those powers must obey Him. Renouncing every form of witchcraft and any involvement with it and resting entirely in Christ is the right response, for there is salvation and protection in no other name.
May the Lord who is righteous rise over you with healing in His wings and give you His peace. I pray that He will touch your body, calm your heart, remove fear, and restore you in every area according to His wise and loving will, whether through an immediate work or a gradual process. I pray He will keep you close to Jesus, help you to remember His presence daily, to feed your faith through prayer and Scripture, and to trust Him even while you wait, knowing that He hears from the first day you seek Him and that He is with you to help and uphold you.
