We join you in bringing this heavy burden before the Lord and we have heard the weight of what you have carried for these many months, the lack of electrical safety in your apartment, the illness and ongoing skin affliction that followed, the threats and inappropriate actions, the costs you bore for alternative shower facilities and for repairs that were not your responsibility as a tenant, and the failure of both the landlord and the community house manager to return what they owe including your security deposit and repair costs despite promises made three months ago.
We stand with you in persistent prayer, and we understand how discouraging it is to wait without communication, remorse, or restitution. Jesus taught us that we ought always to pray and not to give up, and He told of the persistent widow who kept coming to the unjust judge until justice was done, Luke 18:1, Luke 18:7. We take comfort that our God is not an unjust judge but a righteous Father who hears His chosen ones who cry to Him day and night, and He will execute justice for them quickly.
The Lord sees injustice and He does not take it lightly. Vengeance belongs to me and recompense says the Lord, Deuteronomy 32:35, and Beloved, don’t avenge yourselves, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord, Romans 12:19. At the same time Scripture commands those in authority not to oppress or defraud, You shall not oppress your neighbor, nor rob him, Leviticus 19:13, and Woe to those who withhold what is due, for the wages of the laborers cry out, James 5:4. What has been done in withholding your deposit, in making you pay for the house electrical system, and in threatening you, is not right before God, and we rebuke that injustice and pray that the Holy Spirit will awaken and stir the consciences of both the landlord and the manager to do good, to speak truthfully, and to repent and make full restitution as Zacchaeus did when he said if I have wrongfully exacted anything of anyone, I restore four times as much, Luke 19:8.
We also pray for your healing, for the Lord is the one who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, Psalm 103:3, and He says But I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh, Jeremiah 30:17. Though you have been told it may take years for your skin to be rebuilt where it was damaged, we know nothing is too hard for the Lord, and we ask Him to touch those affected areas, to rebuild what was harmed, to take away pain and distress, and to restore you completely according to His mercy.
We pray together now. Father in heaven, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ we come before Your throne of grace. You see our brother or sister in their suffering, You know the electrical dangers they endured, the illness and skin damage they now carry, the financial loss and the threats spoken against them. Lord, we ask You to be their defender and provider. Move upon the heart of the landlord and the community house manager, convict them by Your Holy Spirit, bring them to repentance and to honest action, that they would communicate, confess what is owed, and repay quickly and fully every deposit and repair cost that belongs to Your child. We ask for Your protection over them from any further threat or retaliation, for You are our refuge and fortress, Psalm 91:2. We ask for Your healing hand upon their body, rebuild skin and tissue, restore health and bring comfort and wholeness. We ask for provision for every extra cost they have borne and for peace that surpasses all understanding to guard their heart, Philippians 4:7. Help them to commit their way to You and trust also in You, for You will bring it to pass and will make Your righteousness shine as the light, Psalm 37:5-6. Give them wisdom to keep good records, to seek godly and wise counsel regarding their tenant rights, and to act with both grace and truth, while leaving ultimate justice in Your hands. Let Your will be done and let Your name be glorified even in this difficult trial. In Jesus mighty name we pray, amen.
We encourage you not to grow weary in doing what is right and in seeking what is just, Galatians 6:9. Continue to commit this matter to the Lord in prayer, keep a clear record of all communications, receipts, and promises made, and seek wise, honest counsel about the lawful steps available to you for the return of what is owed, for learning to seek justice and to correct oppression is part of walking faithfully, Learn to do well. Seek justice. Relieve the oppressed, Isaiah 1:17. While you pursue what is rightful, we encourage you to release bitterness to the Lord and to trust Him as your vindicator, knowing He loves you, He sees every detail, and He is able to provide, to heal, and to restore far beyond what has been lost.
