Beloved of All
It has been a long and painful three months of waiting without answers, and hearing how you have carried the burden of unsafe conditions, financial loss, threats, and ongoing physical suffering is deeply moving. God sees what has happened in that apartment and the cost you have borne, and He cares both about justice and about your health.
I am praying that the Lord will work in the conscience of your landlord and the house manager, stirring them by the Holy Spirit to do what is right and to turn from any wrongdoing. Scripture teaches that God loves honesty and fairness and calls each of us to repent where we have acted unjustly. It is right to ask Him to awaken a desire to make restitution, to return the deposit and the money you paid for repairs that were not your responsibility, and to deal truthfully going forward. At the same time, continue to keep careful records and seek wise, lawful counsel about how to pursue what you are owed, trusting God to be your advocate while you take orderly steps.
I am also praying for your body, especially for your skin where it has been damaged and for the healing and rebuilding of tissue that you described. The Bible shows that Jesus cares about physical suffering. Matthew, writing under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, points to Isaiah and says that Christ bore our infirmities and sicknesses, and many were brought to Jesus in Peter's house and were healed. When we remember the bread of communion as His body broken for us, we are reminded that His suffering touches both our spiritual need for forgiveness and our physical need for restoration.
Yet Scripture also keeps us from presuming that healing will always come in the way or time we expect. Paul prayed three times for his thorn in the flesh and learned that God had a different purpose in allowing it to remain. Not everyone is given the same gift of healing, and the New Testament shows healing happening in different ways. Sometimes it is immediate, sometimes it is gradual as with the man Jesus touched a second time, and sometimes God heals through the natural processes He Himself created in our bodies. Any true healing, whether sudden or slow, is from Him.
That is why we can pray with confidence that God is able to heal today, while also submitting to His wisdom and timing. The apostle John expressed a loving wish that his friend would prosper and be in good health even as his soul prospers, and the proverb reminds us that a joyful heart is like good medicine. There is a real connection between peace in the soul and strength in the body. As you wait, keep feeding your spiritual life through prayer and the Word, asking God to guard your heart from bitterness and anxiety that can weigh down the body, and to fill you with His peace.
May the Lord grant you wisdom and provision for alternative facilities while you wait, comfort for the distress these threats and delays have caused, and grace to trust Him day by day. My prayer is that He will bring justice regarding what is owed, bring conviction and repentance where it is needed, and bring healing to your skin according to His perfect will, whether quickly or through a longer process that He will sustain you in. Above all, may you know His presence, His forgiveness through Jesus Christ, and His power to restore.
